Pics def show an improvement

Looks a real sweetie 💙👶🏼💙

Fab you got some sleep and helped with his care

We should do an over 40's thread once mummies so we can all be neurotic together 😂😂.

ChristmasSeacow · 10/03/2017 00:00

Gosh womble he looks like a different baby in that second picture! Much stronger, so definitely on the up. Have they given you any indications of how long they will need to keep you both in for?

Can't write properly now as I am exhausted- still have a hideous cold and had lots of appointments today. GTT was okay - didn't get the results though, willl get them later. Nearly threw up after the lucozade though - - a truly foul drink!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2017 07:30

Results usually come day after. If they don't call you - you are ok

Yes revolting drink and eep with hg

I was so sick afterwards and went to bed for 4hrs in afternoon

Womble75 · 10/03/2017 08:09

Christmas I have no idea at the moment. Will be going down at 9 when Drs do rounds to see plan of action today. He had a good night when I was down at 5.30 am so just popped back upstairs for a shower and some breakfast.
GTT are not nice. I fell asleep in the waiting room for mine. Blondes is right - if you don't hear anything it's all ok.
Blondes we should def have a new mums over 40 thread so we can keep chatting. Be nice to see everyone move over 😊

Teaspoon74 · 10/03/2017 09:02

Womble - adorable!! So pleased you and he are on the up.

And love the idea of a new thread for afterwards. I'd defo miss the support I've had so far from such a fab bunch of women!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2017 10:26

They might have a thread in antenal. Never been there yet lol

Might waddle and have a look 😂😂

Or can do a wats app thread if happy to give out numbers?

Teaspoon74 · 10/03/2017 10:38

Blondes - I'm up for both ;)

Womble75 · 10/03/2017 12:15

I'm up for both - what's app group would be nice.
Was allowed to feed little man just now through his tube - he's all milk drunk and happy so have left him sleeping and come for a rest. Afterpains kicked in last night which aren't pleasant.
X-ray this morning showed he still has some gunk in his right lung but better than yesterday. Consultant reckons he will be on oxygen for a few more days. But he's having regular feeds every 2 hours of my expressed milk which is great so everything moving slowly forwards.
If still progressing well tomorrow may be able to try to Breastfeed - I'm hoping so as I'm desperate to give him a cuddle and to hold my baby. I feel like I've been here forever but it's only Friday. It's really like a bubble in here.

ChristmasSeacow · 10/03/2017 12:19

I'd like a 2017 over 40s mum's thread. We might pick up a few people across the year as this isn't super busy. I feel I want know how things go with everyone! And I am sure you will all want to know if I can ever wean myself off the Tena Ladies Grin

Glad Reuben had a good night Womble and hope you did too. You'll get less chance to sleep once discharged so may as well rest up while you can.

I did indeed nod off in the 2 hour wait yesterday. I'm sure I will have snored a bit as I can't breath normally with this cold. Definitely dribbled too.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2017 14:00

WATS app might be quite nice as then more personal plus if have a bad /embarrassing queries then not on google and public knowledge x

Womble75 · 10/03/2017 14:55

Good idea blondes

Teaspoon74 · 10/03/2017 18:10

Christmas ha! I've started taking so much more interest in those adverts as the pregnancy goes on!

Womblel - do you know how much longer they're going to keep you in for? Hope you get to hold Reuben tomoz and that you can both go home soonest! Xx

ChristmasSeacow · 10/03/2017 18:48

DH has started giving me sly glances when Tena lady adverts come on. I have in general terms complained about my pelvic floor and coughing. It have not yet actually l said 'I have to wear a giant mattress in my pants at all times and you will never want to shag me again'. I think he might have put 2+2 together though Wink

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2017 19:31

IF you are happy to reveal yourself and phone number then send me a message and I will set up a wats app group x

Efferlunt · 10/03/2017 19:50

Hi can I join? I'm six weeks and can barely believe it. I'm not 40 yet but will be by my due date. Bit stressed out about the risks for older mothers and my high risk birth from last time - 5 years ago! I'm born worrier however and it's been great to read your positive stories. I'm going to have a private nipt test I think and see how it goes.

Womble75 · 10/03/2017 21:03

Blondes have pm'd

Teaspoon74 · 10/03/2017 21:29

Blondes - I've revealed myself to you Smile. Have PMd.

Efferlunt - welcome & congrats!! Due end of Oct then?

Efferlunt · 10/03/2017 21:46

Nov 5! I don't feel pregnant yet, only a bit queesy. Don't have a booking apt for two weeks and only DH and I know at the mo.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/03/2017 21:50

Eff. Congrats and welcome - Why was last birth high risk

Efferlunt · 10/03/2017 22:15

I had a post partum haemorrhage. It was pretty unpleasant and there is a risk of it happening again. They said if I wanted another they'd cannulate me in labour and get a drip in as soon as baby is born. It does worry me a bit but It wasn't a case where they would advise against future births and had a plan to manage the risks, which makes me feel a bit more confident.

Iusuallylovecake · 11/03/2017 07:45

Morning all!
Womble, Reuben is gorgeous, so pleased for you and he looks stronger in each pic. Fingers crossed your able to breastfeed soon X
Welcome efferlunt, congratulations!!! I'm sure once you've got booking apt they'll take v good care of you. Try to enjoy, easier said than done, I stress virtually daily over some aspect or other!!
I've a couple more weeks before gtt but think I just get booted into the waiting room!!! Quite fancied a mid morning nap!!!! Oh well!!

Womble75 · 11/03/2017 08:40

Efferlunt welcome! I had a pph with my first and also with a mc a few years back. My consultant went with an active 3rd stage for me and this time round the blood loss was minimal - I was canulated as well but all was fine , even the bleeding since has not been as bad as last time 😊 hopefully you will be ok.

Well popped down to see Reuben at around 5 am and I got my first cuddle! Was able to hold him for an hour. So happy 😊

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/03/2017 10:04

So lovely you had your special cuddle x

PingusMistress · 11/03/2017 10:11

Hi everyone, please can I join you too? I'm 40 and 6+6 with DC2. A bit nervous about doing it all again but excited too. Its lovely to see some other ladies of a similar age reaching the end of their pregnancy journeys.

I had a question about the Harmony test - have any of you had it, and do you think it is worth it? I was looking into a private reassurance scan but the website for my local clinic makes it sounds you get at least one scan with the Harmony test anyway. Is that right? I'm still struggling to get past the £500 price tag though! Grin

Teaspoon74 · 11/03/2017 10:29

Hey Pingus , congrats & welcome! We took the Harmony/Verify test. Think it was about £275/£300. And since they couldn't get the nuchal fluid measurement they needed and couldn't reassure re chromosomal stuff without it, we felt it was worth knowing at that stage (1st baby).
