Hi
Christmas, how awful being trapped with a mildewy person! I understand completely that its a worrying time, I'm 5+4, and every day is a bonus. In my last ( successful) pregnancy I didn't tell anyone until I was 24 weeks. It got easier and easier not to tell, that I was reluctant to share my news when we finally did, and that was only because we told our 5 year old.

Russ, I have a combo of pregnancy insomnia and an almost 1 year old who wakes more frequently now than when he was born!

ChristmasSeacow · 02/11/2016 18:44

24 weeks Wombletor! Wow. I can see the attraction but I think it will be way too noticeable way before then, with me. If last time is anything to go by I will be properly showing before that as well as the not drinking, especially near Christmas, which will be a shrieking siren to my friends

Bloopbleep · 05/11/2016 12:38

I'm struggling to keep it secret due to sickness. I'll be lucky to make it to 12 weeks let alone 24. That said I didn't really show with my first until a few weeks before I gave birth. People I'd seen regularly seemed genuinely surprised when I appeared with a baby.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2016 17:50

Waddles in. How are we all doing?

Have 20w scan next week. Eeeek!!

Russkispy · 07/11/2016 20:20

Nausea has been killing me for a while now and still suffering from insomnia. Have no energy all day but keep forcing myself doing things around the house and obviously have to work in the afternoons. This is. Itching glowing about this trimester. When do I start glowing everyone is talking about when pregnant?!?? Started using Head & Shoulders for my newly discovered greasy/oily hair, and it seems like it solved the problem! Also noticed my nails grow faster than before. And maybe hair too. I've cut my hair very short in September, and kind of noticed it's much longer now. Hmmm acupuncture is tomorrow morning and an early scan in the afternoon. DH is very excited. Hope all will be well. Also trying to reschedule my first appointment with a midwife this week.
How's everyone else doing/feeling!?

ChristmasSeacow · 07/11/2016 21:28

Ooh good, you're all back. I thought I'd killed the thread!

I feel fine - boob soreness has abated a lot, though they are still at least a cup size bigger than they were. Insomnia is a bit better. I am generally a bit tired but don't really have much else in the way of symptoms, tbh. It makes me feel a bit anxious that I am not actually pregnant! Hope all is okay, am trying not to think about it too much or it will drive me batty.

Am going for a private scan probably next week. Am 6w today so reckon middle of next week should be okay to see the heartbeat if all is well.

Good luck Russ and Blondes with your scans!

Russkispy · 07/11/2016 21:45

Thanks Christmas. Will let you know how it gives. I'll be 8+1 tomorrow.
Today nausea is really bad! I keep munching on ginger biscuits and drinking ginger tea but still feeling sick. Horrible, really.
Good night to all...

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2016 23:40

get yourself to gp and get anti sickness tablets, i suffered for 4w thinking my sickness and nausea was just morning sickness, got diagnosed as hg

so lovely to hear a heart beat, makes it more real

otherwise not too bad, sickness is better, tho days i am still sick, have heartburn and restless legs and keep kicking poor df in bed

Russkispy · 08/11/2016 16:35

Had acupuncture this morning and slept peacefully. And just finished our very first scan! A little babi 15mm long with 170bmp. Heard the heartbeat! And it's only one! No twins! Haha doctor was happy with how things going and develop. NIFTY scan/test is booked in 2 weeks

Bloopbleep · 08/11/2016 17:17

That's great news about the scan Russkispy!

I had a scan today and it showed a wee 6week old blob with a heartbeat.

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/11/2016 17:33

Fab all scans are showing ok for newbies

It's amazing we actually get preg after all our fertility problems /age as geriatric 😉 But then have the worry till every scan is shown ok

ChristmasSeacow · 09/11/2016 05:46

Great news Russ!

I was wrong about the symptoms abating - I forgot about the insomnia. Have been watching the US election results come in - feeling pretty sick!

Womble75 · 12/11/2016 13:45

Hi everyone and welcome to newbies. Sorry been so busy not had a chance to update.
Had 20 week scan yesterday and everything perfect. So pleased. It's a boy - was very obvious! (He wasn't shy in showing us) scan was very through - more so than I remember last time. DD over the moon - she wanted a brother lol. Feel relieved I've got past another milestone.
Had whooping cough jab at the same time. Bit rough today but used to that after jabs with my crappy immune system.
Still not sleeping great but kind of got used to it. Movements have definitely increased the past week or so. Especially after drinking OJ.
Back for thyroid and ferritin tests next week and booked in with consultant and consultant midwife for just before xmas to go over issues in labour last time and work on a plan for this time around. Can't believe the difference in care I'm getting down here.
So cautiously optimistic about the next few months.
How's everyone else doing?

ChristmasSeacow · 12/11/2016 16:02

Hello all, more good scan news, congrats Womble. It must feel good to get the structural scan out of the way with no problems. Blondes, is yours next week?

I have booked for an early scan on Wednesday, when I will be 7+3. Hoping for a blob in the right place, with a heartbeat and ideally just the one blob

Am generally okay though still sleeping pretty badly. Last time I was pregnant (at 37) I had no idea there was such a thing as MMC. I really wish I didn't know now... I would be so much less fretful!

I booked in via the GP and have had appointment letters through for a consultant-led clinic (90 min first appt - presumably because I am old) and also my 12 week scan on 19 December, so just in time for Christmas. Keeping everything crossed that I get that far....

How are you other early people doing? X

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2016 21:28

After saying I felt better I obv jinked fate. Must have had a hormone surge - Last 3 days been sick. Yesterday very sick - chucking up in a car park in doggy poo bags. Classy eh

Seem to be ok today .....

Yay all ok with scan womble. And yah a boy !! 💙💙

Yes my 20w is tomorow. We want to look and see if we can tell before scan lady tells us. 99% convinced a boy

Df and I honestly don't care whether b/g we just want a baby and me to be a mummy (df a dad to 3 in 20's) tho big brother 27 can't wait and very excited

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/11/2016 21:30

Waves to all newbies. Hoping and praying that all your viability scans go well and it's a bloody Long 4/5w wait till 12w scan

Bloopbleep · 14/11/2016 17:15

Hello all! I've stayed away as trying not to obsess over every fart and grumble but I need to ask about this... I'm 7 weeks and I feel like my uterus is creaky. I feels like squeaky bubbles low down on my Pubic bone and makes me think of rubbing two bits of polystyrene together. It's most disconcerting. It's far to early to be movement and it's in the wrong place for wind... why is my uterus creaking? Is it age?

ChristmasSeacow · 14/11/2016 21:44

Bloop I have no idea! I doubt you are creaking but all sorts of things can happen in pregnancy.

I am very bored of heartburn. Am blaming baby but appreciate it would be better if I ate less crap Grin

Blondes, how did you go today?

ChristmasSeacow · 14/11/2016 22:09

Actually Bloop, now I come to think of it, it could be your symphysis pubis if it is a rubbing feeling on your pubic bone. That is usually painful rather than just a strange feeling but it is in that area. I had symphysis pubis dysfunction, SPD, in my first pregnancy, which comes from an over-loosening of the ligaments in the pelvis. It caused me a bit of trouble towards the end. It didn't feel like polystyrene exactly, more painful grinding, but it was on my pubic bone. It started roughly in the middle of my pregnancy and got worse as time went on. To turn over in bed at night I had to actually get out and then back in the other way round! I narrowly avoided being on crutches but did need Physio.

At 7 weeks it might not be anything like that and I don't want to worry you but might be worth mentioning it to the midwife when you see her. If it is your symphysis pubis there are things you can do to prevent aggravating it (how you lie in bed, how you bend down, avoid crossing legs etc). I am 7 weeks like you and not having any problems yet but am expecting to have it earlier /worse than last time. So I am being a bit careful now.

Anyway, it may be completely unrelated so don't lose sleep over it! Even if it is a harbinger of SPD it is a massive pain and inconvenience but not anything that would threaten the pregnancy. I also had a very quick and good normal delivery, with just a tens machine for Iain relief! And after very reduced mobility in my last trimester I was miraculously back to normal pretty much straight after delivery. Bloody hormones!

ChristmasSeacow · 14/11/2016 22:10

Pain relief. Who is Iain?!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2016 22:43

Bloop. Mention to mw at booking in app

Christmas - bubs wasn't playing ball 😳- refused to turn round (same as 12w scan and needed serious prodding to turn so could measure neck) so lady could only measure some parts of bubs organs

Tried twice and jiggled hips etc but nope - stubborn like their dad 😬

What she saw seemed ok but need to go back thur to measure/check organs she couldn't get at

Plus little bugger bubs 😍wouldn't reveal sex so don't know if 💓💙so hopefully thur will show that as well

ChristmasSeacow · 14/11/2016 22:49

Oh well, you don't have too long to wait and you get to see him or her again! Same happened at my 12-week scan with DS- they never did get the nuchal
Measurement.

Have you agreed to definitely find out what you are having?

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2016 23:50

Yes. We both want to know what sex tho obv the main return of scan is to check measurements they couldn't get today - tho sex would be nice

Let's hope bubs is a chilled baby once born😁

ChristmasSeacow · 16/11/2016 19:57

Had my viability scan today (7+3). All looking fine so far - saw the heartbeat. And just the one (phew!)

This thread is very quiet, hope everyone is okay x

Russkispy · 16/11/2016 20:49

Christmas, glad to hear it! I was also relieved to hear that there was just the one!
had my first midwife appointment today which went well. Such a lovely lady who knows my mother-in-law, the former midwife herself. Made various appointments, got some freebies and left in good spirits. Insomnia is still killing me. Nausea is very bad in the evenings. Each week cutting down on progesterone intake and hopefully that will make some difference. Keep knitting baby stuff in different colours. Booties, hats, cardigans all in matching sets are done. Now I'm knitting my very first blanket.
Haven't even looked at maternity wear yet. And do not believe I'm showing yet. Today s 9+2.
