Pregnancy

Ridiculous things that have made you cry when pregnant..

I just started reading the lyrics to Cat Stevens' 'Father and Son' and nearly started crying. I had the same experience in early pregnancy while telling someone about how we used to sing 'Streets of London' at school. Oh, and buskers are making me well up at the minute too!

The funniest one has been the end to the Lil Wayne video 'How to Love' () A pregnant woman goes to the doctor for a pregnancy test and when she gets a positive result she says to her mum 'Thanks for teaching me how to love' - so cheesy but it set me off!

What has got your eyes watering?

I cried so much during my last pregnancy that I was given a hashtag on text messages #stiffcries (but with my real name of course). A few examples:

A man talking to his son at the tills in Iceland.
TK Maxx had the item I was looking for.
A dog tied up outside a shop.
Every Christmas advert in 2015.
A photograph of a squirrel on the Countryfile calendar. Not even a moving squirrel - a photo.

I love these stories, I don't feel so alone!

For me there have been so many things:
Disney's Dumbo when his mum was cradling him in her trunk
Dropping a baking tray on the floor
Switching the oven off by mistake (baby brain haha), so dinner was 15 minutes later than I'd planned
Any documentaries or videos with cute animals
A little boy & girl dancing at a wedding together
My husband buying me sweets on his way home from work
My family were being loud & I felt overwhelmed
& for absolutely no reason at all!

Thankfully Dh finds it quite cute haha. To be honest I'm a sensitive person anyway, Dh reminded me the other day of when I cried when we went to see The Lion King in the west end a few years ago - because a little girl was dressed as an elephant looked so happy Smile

Because my husband bought a steak pie home for dinner and I'd decided I wanted pizza.

I just remembered another one! Where I work is quite close to some traveller sites and a family went past on a horse and trap and the little lad was wearing a helmet, and looked really sweet!

I cried at Jess Glynn singing in strictly. I have no idea why.

When I was pregnant with ds I cried at the grand national; I think I got a bit over excited thinking my horse was about to win.

I watched 28 Days Later when pregnant with DD. I don't cry at films, ever. But there was the bit where he goes to his parents' house & finds them in bed having committed suicide together to avoid the zombie plague and they are all cuddled up together holding a photo of him as a child. The child looked a bit like DS, who was only 5 at the time and it was so moving and heart-wrenching. I've seen it again since. Nothing, not a flicker of emotion.

There was a Xmas special of the Royle Family when Nana died just before DD was born, I may have shed a tear or two then as well.

Because one day I would be old, and would die, and who would love DS and look after him when he's an old man? I sobbed for ages.

I hope he marries someone lovely.

I ate a really delicious omelette.

Nothing I was eating had tasted right for about a week and suddenly I've got an omelette that was obviously made by angels in front of me. I cried after the first bite, and I'm not normally even a fan of omelettes Grin

When I was pregnant I dreamt I gave birth to a cat, and I was breastfeeding it. I woke up crying because I didn't want a cat.

Also, they changed the baguette in one of the baguette shops and I was distraught and in my hormonal state, I didn't want the chicken and bacon roll that they changed it to, I wanted the old style chicken and bacon roll. I even made a fuss about it and walked off saying I'd never buy anything from there again Blush

These are BRILLIANT!

Sloth I cried because after waiting weeks for our local Wimpy to open, driving past every day watching the progress of the shop fitting, as we pulled up to go in on the evening it opened the manager came out and apologised because the grill had just broken so they were closing. The poor man didn't know what to do when I just burst into tears in front of him!

I also cried (angry tears) when I discovered DH had eaten the last of my coco pops and not warned me/replaced them!

I've just found out I'm pg again, and a few days before I found out I started sobbing at the opening chords of 'When She Loved Me' from Toy Story.

Was in the waiting to see a midwife and a mother and her daughter were making a list of what to take to the hospital when her new baby brother or sister arrived.

Several films and adverts. The start of the film Up! springs to mind and the water aid adverts where they have to walk 10 miles a day to drink dirty water.

I cried last week because my dp was too tired to have sex with me... poor bugger had worked 3x14hour days in a row.

I've also just randomly started crying whilst trying to get to sleep... still no idea where it comes from.
