I'm hoping for a bit of reassurance! MMC last September and currently 11w6d by my calculations (private scan at 8w1d measured 6w5d - but saw heartbeat). NHS scan this Wednesday and I'm a worried wreck, after horrendous ms previously, this pregnancy I've been slightly nauseous and tired which has faded over the last couple of days. Wednesday seems a lifetime away, anyone have any tips to keep me away from Google?

JoMalones · 28/03/2016 18:13

Hello! Just catching up, I've got my second lots of bloods tomorrow. Has anyone had their bloods done at 4 or 5 weeks and mind sharing their results?
Good luck TheRealNightManager and step away from Google! Whatever you look up won't make any difference to the outcome on Wednesday. Unplug your wifi or try to stay busy or out

Northernlight22 · 28/03/2016 21:02

Back home now. Red bleeding stopped as soon as it started but still had some brown spotting. Just want tomorrow to come and to know what's going on in there!

Northernlight22 · 29/03/2016 13:53

All good today, think blood is from placenta irritating cervix as it's partially covering. So due date 12h October! Back early May for another scan x

Northernlight22 · 29/03/2016 15:33

I've just been looking at my pregnancy notes and I see there's a note in there that I've been advised to take low dose aspirin from 12 weeks - anyone else doing this?

Sophia1984 · 29/03/2016 16:09

Good news Northern :-)

JoMalones · 29/03/2016 17:09

Great news Northern!

Eastend2015 · 29/03/2016 17:14

Congratulations Northern!

Turi1983 · 29/03/2016 17:15

sophia1984 a boy – how exciting!

pduck any news?

cocklesandmussels spotting is terrifying isn’t it?

smellsofelderberries any news on your thyroid?

eastend can’t believe your colleague. Sorry she was so insensitive.

goulash I am so sorry.

jomalones Congratulations on your BFP. Your miscarriage sounds similar to mine – I was a mess physically for months. I too have heard it’s quite normal to spot after sex. I’ve gone off it completely after my entire uterus and back contracted – and not in a good way!

doleritedinosaur let us know how your next scan goes.

tamzo congratulations!

mowserlovesmojitos I found the private scans invaluable.

obsessedlex how are you feeling now?

kitten3 crisps were my staple diet for a few weeks!

lillianfulstop your midwife sounds lovely! So pleased your scan went well! I moved my scan as I wanted to be as close to 13 weeks as possible.

keys you poor thing – you’ve really been through it recently. I’m not surprised you’re worried about the beer but like you said, some women drink a lot in their pregnancies – and this was a one-off.

northern congrats on your scan!

therealnightmanager (great name by the way) you’re so close to the end of your first trimester – hang in there. And stay away from Google!

I’m now 13 weeks 5 days. Had my NHS scan on Saturday, with a completely lack-lustre sonographer unfortunately. Baby lay on its front, did a somersault, sucked its thumb… we were mesmerised.

My sickness and sore boobs seemed to disappear overnight at 11/12 weeks - I was sure of the worst.

Now, my symptom seem to be farting, snoring and really bad back ache. And I have started showing now so thankfully can tell colleagues.

CocklesandMussels · 29/03/2016 19:49

Congratulations northern that's great news!

sundayraspberry · 29/03/2016 19:57

Farting is one of those pregnancy things no-one warns you about turi! My sexy symptom is burping, proper man burps!

Hoping your scan goes well tomorrow and that your dates are in line night manager

Great that scan went well northern! I think Sophia is in the low placenta club too. Perhaps you need to ring midwife to ask about the aspirin? I wouldn't have thought it would be a good thing to take if you have a low placenta and have had some bleeding seeing as aspirin is an anti coagulatant. Is there any reason you might need to take it, eg a history of blood clotting problems?

Pduck · 29/03/2016 21:29

Sorry for disappearing, my time to catch up with you all seems to have disappeared now DD has decided that she won't go to sleep without holding hands Hmm

economy very exciting to be due around the same time! That must be so difficult, but you're not being a cow you're just trying to cope with what's happening. Can you go back and ask for counselling?

dinosaur glad you managed to get an early appt but I'm sorry it wasn't positive news. Flowers

Congrats kitten. Very impressive cycling to work.

keys I'm sure it will be absolutely fine, everything in moderation and the baby should be fine. It was an honest mistake by everyone, it's just shitty when you think that you've been so careful and something still slips through. I hope you can rest and are not running to the loo every few mins after that much liquid!!

northern Yey!

cockles glad you're feeling better

sophia I'm sure sometimes midwives are on different planets to the rest of the medical profession! Hopefully you can relax before your scan and do lots of positive thinking of the placenta moving (my midwife's suggestion for moving DD round!)

lilian that's wonderful news. I don't think it matters when your scan is, they are so accurate with the measurements.

paws I'm really sorry, I hope you can spend time with your nan and that you LO makes an appearance soon for her

nightmanager keeping my fingers crossed for you tomorrow.

I'm doing ok, doctor wouldn't put me forward for an early scan as he didn't think the hospital would allow it. So now trying to decide whether a private scan is worth it. Sickness is coming and going as it pleases and I keep on thinking I've started to bleed, thankfully I haven't yet but am convinced it's going to happen at some point. Anybody else wishing for a crystal ball??

Blimey, sorry for the huge post. That will teach me to leave it so long to check in!!

positivity123 · 30/03/2016 09:19

Hi guys. Not posted for a while but been reading the updates. therealnightmanager I also have my 12 week scan today and I'm so nervous. We saw a heartbeat at 8 weeks so I'm hopeful but it is still stressful.best of luck with yours.
Northern due date is same as yours. Am so glad the scan went well.
keys I'm sure a bit of alcohol won't make any difference. Back in the day beer was safer than water and people still had healthy babies.
turi am glad your sickness has eased as you had such a rough time.

Turi1983 · 30/03/2016 09:51

sundayraspberry I'm surprised my husband is still prepared to share a bed to be honest!

Has anyone else completely gone off sex?

JoMalones · 30/03/2016 10:02

Turi glad your scan went well despite the songrapher.

Pduck
My son is the same so I've learnt to type left left handed

Good luck to those having scans today!

I've had my hcg results and they doubled over 48hrs so I'm hoping that means I'm ok for now?

Turi1983 · 30/03/2016 10:20

JoMalones When I was 3/4 weeks pregnant I had my HCG measured to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. My levels increased by 90% so double is great.

JoMalones · 30/03/2016 10:21

Thanks Turi, I've done this all independently as GP wasn't interested so glad they seem like good results!

positivity123 · 30/03/2016 15:23

Just been for the 12 week scan and everything looks good. Such a relief to see the heartbeat. We haven't told anybody we are expecting, even parents, so can't wait to share the good news with nearest and dearest. We are definitely not going to shout it from the rooftops though, the miscarriage then taking a while ttc has taught me that what may be good news for one person can be upsetting for another so I need to be sensitive when telling people.
Thanks to you all on this thread, the last few months has been a bit lonely and worrying so it's been great to have support xx

Turi1983 · 30/03/2016 15:35

Fantastic news positivity123, you must be relieved/thrilled/excited/nervous in equal measure. Enjoy sharing the news!

Eastend2015 · 30/03/2016 15:42

Congratulations positivity!

SouthDownsSunshine · 30/03/2016 17:07

Hi, can I join?

Pregnancy #5, at 5 weeks now. I have dd who's 2, and 3 mc (8,8,5 weeks).

Excited to be pregnant again (and only one cycle post mc), but terrified. Still waiting for my recurrent mc appointment so there's nothing the NHS can do in the way of support this time, other than I can self refer to EPU.

I've had a bit of spotting but nothing concerning. I am going to get my gp to sign me off work as I'm too nervous to commute (5 hours a day), and it's stressful.

On the plus side, I feel SHIT! Which is fantastic! Exhausted, nauseous, insomnia, the works. Long may it last!

SouthDownsSunshine · 30/03/2016 17:08

Sorry if that is insensitive to those with HG Blush

CocklesandMussels · 30/03/2016 17:56

Welcome southdowns! I felt awful at 5 weeks too, and was also completely delighted about feeling so crap. Now I I just feel crap, no delight!
Fx for you that it works out this time, there's lots of support here.
Congratulations positivity on your scan.

TheRealNightManager · 30/03/2016 18:32

Thanks for all your words of encouragement, however it was bad news at my scan today and another mmc. One is unlucky but two just isn't fair. I'm going to head on back to the miscarriage board but before I go I want you wish you good luck and happy and healthy pregnancies to you all xx

SouthDownsSunshine · 30/03/2016 18:55

Sorry to hear that nightmanager

Take care of yourself Flowers
