Morning all

Congratulations on the bfp Pduck and welcome also tamzo!

Hang on in there obsessed. Hope the Easter break gives you some distraction and your scan date comes round quickly. Mine was due just after Xmas and new year and I found the holidays helped take my mind off it for a few days.

Good luck today northern! Is it your 12 wk one, I've lost track?

Hope you're both still keys and paws?

Nothing new to report here ladies. Feeling stronger movements now, no real pattern to it really yet, I just look forward to the evenings when I know I can get a few good kicks to reassure me. Little one is starting to keep me awake during the night wriggling too!

Feel like a bit of a failure as I only managed to watch 30secs of one born every minute last night! Think I was just a bit too hormonal. Maybe I'll give it a go next week. Anyone doing anything over Easter?

sundayraspberry · 23/03/2016 08:08

Sorry that should read, hope you're both still OK keys and paws

doleritedinosaur · 23/03/2016 09:24

Morning everyone

Had scan both abdominal & internally & they could only see a sac so have to go back in 2 weeks to see if there is progression.

Trying to think positively with how last miscarriage could have messed up my dates & I do ovulate late.
It is hard though. Going to be a long 2 weeks.

Hope everyone has a better day.

I actually fell asleep during One born Sunday, it is hard to watch when all this is going on.

Kitten3 · 23/03/2016 10:59

Hello all, I'm new to this thread- glad I found it because I have had 2 mc in the last year and am now pregnant again. Only at the very early stages, 5 weeks pregnant but really hoping that I make it to the end point this time.

I am feeling extremely tired, but that could be because we have a 4 year old and 2 year old plus I cycle them to work and back. I am normally comatose by 8 in the evening and yesterday I felt so very very sick and nauseous I almost consumed an entire big (and I mean BIG) bag of crisps, which I was so ashamed about I couldn't even tell OH about!

economymode · 23/03/2016 11:56

Thank you bowser and northernlight. It's good to hear from others who get it and I really appreciate it. I'm looking forward to going away on Saturday for a week with the family, just us. Think we need some time away from everyone else!

Kitten, I think you might be me. I walk/cycle to school/work every day and am drained by the time my husband comes back around 6. I have an (almost) 5 year old and a (just) 3 year old. I found that having children already doesn't make the loss of a mc any easier. I kind of feel it should, but I still feel incredibly cheated. We are at around the same stage, I'm 6 weeks today I think. I am keeping everything crossed for you.

JoMalones · 23/03/2016 15:07

Yesterday I had some spotting and cramps (after sex Blush). I've completely worked myself up thinking the worst, how do people do this? I'm only 4+2 so nothing epu can do, so I phoned the private hospital and I've booked blood tests (tomorrow and Tuesday due to the bank holidays). Hopefully there should be a big increase between 4+3 and 5+1. DH thinks I've gone crazy but as we are on holiday the following week, I just want to know either way and this is the only way I feel in control of things.

CocklesandMussels · 23/03/2016 15:26

dobby thanks for that tip, it sounds much better than a paper bag. I spent half my train journey he sitting on the floor next to the door. I might have to pimp up my baby on board sign with flashing lights or something!
dolerite fx for you that you get good news at your next scan. I hope you have lots of nice things planned for the next couple of weeks to distract you.
Welcome kitten, I know what you mean about fatigue. When I was pregnant with DD I was so tired I convinced myself I had carbon monoxide poisoning even though it was high summer, the boiler was off and all the windows were open! Not my finest hour.
Hope everyone is well today. I'm 6+4 now!

Northernlight22 · 23/03/2016 18:58

Hiya, scans tomorrow morning raspberry - it's the follow up to the specialist scan so I'll be about 11+4 (12 week scan is on Tuesday).

Terrified in case they tell me that it is a partial molar - I just want to walk in, find out everything's fine and walk out! 🙈

LillianFullStop · 23/03/2016 22:11

hang in there dinosaur and jomalones Flowers i've heard it's normal to bleed a little after sex and also to experience some cramping after orgasm. DH and I are avoiding until after first trimester though as I am freaked out enough.

Had my booking in appt yesterday and it was the same midwife as my first pregnancy - as soon as I walked in she says - "I know you!" I had to tell her about mc but she's absolutely lovely so I'm glad I'm assigned to her again this time around.

Private scan tomorrow at 10+2 (or 10+6 according to LMP) and I am equally excited and terrified. My mmc last year was found at 10 weeks and I'll never forget the shock and horror of seeing that monitor with an empty gestational sac to this day. Kindly requesting hand holding please! I'm feeling very emotional today!!!

JoMalones · 23/03/2016 22:25

Lillian and Northern good luck tomorrow! Will be looking out for updates about the healthy little heartbeats you both will see

doleritedinosaur · 23/03/2016 22:26

Evening everyone & thanks.

Hope people who are having scans have good ones.
Never had an internal before, but interesting to put it mildly.

Had an up & down day but I've just looked at dates & 5 weeks does fit so now trying to be positive. I've got loads of groups to do with my son & probably heading to London to get away for a bit.

Hope everyone manages to stay positive & have good days.

Distraction helps a lot.

Good luck everyone with scans today!

Northernlight22 · 24/03/2016 11:10

All ok at today's scan, although little monkey wouldn't stay still for a picture! 12 week scan on tues and then I can hopefully start to be a bit more relaxed about what's happening.

Sophia1984 · 24/03/2016 14:22

Brilliant news Northern :-)

I just had a midwife appointment. Baby's heartbeat is good and she seemed pleased with how my belly looks. I am still worried about my placenta though. She looked at notes from sonographer and has said I should be on 'pelvic rest' (no sex!) and that it is less likely to move because it's posterior :-( Sonographer was a lot more chilled about it - I wish she had put measurements in my notes and not just 'reaching cervix' - does that mean it's covering or not?

It's just a case of waiting till 32 week scan to see if it's moved and taking things from there if it hasn't, but I am so scared I'm going to bleed before then and have to go into hospital. I don't mind having to have a C-section if it's best for baby, I just don't want him to be too premature or get sick because of it :-( She said I should have a hospital bag packed in case I bleed. I hate that I live in middle of nowhere and we don't have a car - though I guess an ambulance is going to be best in that situation anyway.

And then she tells me not to worry so much and that my body is designed to do this - well it's obviously not if my placenta doesn't know where to attach!

dobbythedoggy · 24/03/2016 19:33

sophia that sounds similar to how my placenta was described. No measurements were recorded in my notes but it was recorded as low lying postiria. I remeber the sonographa saying it was borderline and reaching, measuring 18.2mm from cervix. She wasn't at all concerned and just added a note for position to be checked when the consultant scaned me at 35 weeks. But the midwife I saw for vbac assesment had me in a real flap about it; no sex, no lifting, lots of rest and watch for bleeds.

By 35 weeks, placenta had moved up, I think with the general streching of baby growing and was safely on the right handside above my hip with baby snuggling into it. Normal birth, at 40+2.

If you do need a c-section, I actually found it less painful than the initial recovery from 3rd degree tear. It was tight and twingy if I moved in the wrong way but not ever painful. As you said, you just want baby here safe, but it's natural for you to be scared.

Northernlight22 · 24/03/2016 20:14

Sickness is back as well - 11+4 and I thought I'd done with it!

Sophia make sure you keep that pelvis rested 😉

LillianFullStop · 24/03/2016 20:14

Had a happy scan today it was such a relief to see the little one in there with a nice strong heartbeat Smile measuring 9+2 so a week earlier than my dates 10+2.

So relieved but still cautious. NT scan in 2 weeks but thinking of moving it a week later as I'll probably only 11w by then and bean will be too small to do the NT check. Anyone tried NT scan and told to come back a week later?

doleritedinosaur · 24/03/2016 20:51

Congratulations on the good scans & appointments today. Glad there's a lot of happy news.

Hope it's moved for you at 32 weeks Sophia. My friend had a similar issue & luckily it had moved but ended up with a c section anyway due to failed induction.

doleritedinosaur · 24/03/2016 20:52

Lillian I had my 12 week scan done at 10 + 5 I think & they had no issues. It might have been earlier, I was definitely 10 though & still managed all the measurements.

Sophia1984 · 24/03/2016 22:26

That's really reassuring to hear dobby. Thank you! And thanks, doleritedinosaur I hope so too!
