Good luck Northern. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you
Turi I'm sorry you feel so ill and I hope it eases soon
Lucinda I totally agree with your decision to check, I'd rather know as well.

hula16 · 01/03/2016 21:28

Evening ladies, new reluctant member to the not so exclusive MC club.
This sucks!
Hoping to TTC again pretty soon. Any good news stories?

Lilliana · 02/03/2016 07:33

Dobby hope you're ok now. Not long to wait but I do remember those last weeks being nearly as long as the first!! Look after yourself

Bowserlovesmojitos · 02/03/2016 07:56

Hope those with scans get reassuring/positive news today. The first trimester fretting bench is filling up but hopefully we'll all progress to the second one in due time!

Lovely to hear that some holistic therapies are making a difference - I had some acupuncture done last year as well but left after they essentially said mc was my fault for being vegetarian Sad
Trying to find someone else but I prefer personal recommendations which makes it trickier.

JayBeanie · 02/03/2016 08:42

Hula sorry to hear your news Thanks, we have all been there and it definitely sucks. On this thread we have been lucky enough to get pregnant again following our miscarriages and are supporting each other through the worries that come with that. There is another thread in conception called ttc after miscarriage which could be more useful for you right now. I will keep my fingers crossed we see you back here very soon. Take care of yourself in the meantime x

sundayraspberry · 02/03/2016 09:25

Good news about seeing a hb on your scan Lillian Smile. Are you gonna wait until 12 weeks now or book another?

And good luck today at epau northern x

Hello and welcome to newbies too!

Hope uti settles down asap dobby, they're rubbish at the best of times. It's your due date today? Hope little'un makes an appearance soon. Saw a gorgeous 7 week old at work yesterday and makes me even more excited about meeting our own in July.

Does anyone have any online recommendations for maternity dresses? I have a wedding to go to next month and I'd like to look nice but not spend too much cash!

dobbythedoggy · 02/03/2016 09:31

Thanks lil feeling wiped out today but actually slept well last night for the first time in what feels like months. Planning a quiet day, downing as much fluid as possiable to help flush it out of my system to. Dh will be home soon so can keep dd happy and keep me topped up with drink and I can hopefully catch up on some more sleep.

Due today and as much as I am looking forward to meeting him hoping bump stays put for a few days to give the medicen a chance to work.

hula I'll second Jay's recomendation of ttc after miscarriage thread. Many of us have graduated from there. Wishing you lots of luck for the future. Bump is amazingly a product of wtf cycle straight after my mc. The ttc thread was a wonderful support while going through that blessedly short journey.

bowser what a horriable thing to say! I hope you find someone new who can be supportive. If you want personally recomendations, have you throught about your midwife? Mine's quiet supportive of alternitive medicen alongside conventional care. She had a list of local people she recomends as having an acceptable knowledge of treating pregnant women.

Congratulations to those who've recently joined and good luck to anyone having an early scan.

dobbythedoggy · 02/03/2016 09:44

sunday yes due today, but doubt he'll make an apperance. Feeling happy to wait a bit longer and let uti clear up. Although yesterday dh had to warn the drs who deblt with me not to even mention c-section as I felt so crap being hooked up to monitors and worried I'd have been begging for one!

I got a smart maternity dress from vertbaudet for my nan's funural and worn it load since too. They've got a sale on at the moment too, but most things are reasonably priced too.

www.vertbaudet.co.uk/maternity-maternity-wear-dresses.htm

I've had a few new look dresses to, but don't know if any of there bits would feel dressy enough for a wedding.

sundayraspberry · 02/03/2016 10:19

Thanks for the recommendation, will check out vertbaudet later. Have ordered some black dresses from new look so hopefully can dress them up with accessories for going out and perhaps wear more casually too. Currently still in my normal clothes and the less I spend on maternity clothes the more lovely baby things I can invest in!

If you're on meds for uti they shouldn't take long to clear it up, have a good rest x

LynseyH5 · 02/03/2016 11:16

Just to chime in on the uti, I had a terrible one a few months back, in fact it was so bad I was passing blood, antibiotics work pretty quick and if things are a little uncomfortable down there, the doc told me to use vasaline anywhere that was stinging from urine touching skin, as it's a barrier cream, it's stops the contact and prevents the burning sensation! Bit gross and slimy but it really helped!!

Northernlight22 · 02/03/2016 11:47

All ok on the scan today - measuring 8 weeks :)

I'm back there for a consultant scan tomorrow as there were what appeared to be cysts on the scan, and they now don't think that it was a second sac on last weeks scan. Will let you know how I get on tomorrow.

Hula, definitely recommend the ttc after miscarriage thread, sorry you are here - it's crap but there are lots of good news stories too :)

sundayraspberry · 02/03/2016 11:59

Fab northern! Can see tiny little baby on the picture too Smile. Wonder where the cysts are from then? Maybe ovarian, although you can get cervical cysts too (having had both myself!)

Eastend2015 · 02/03/2016 13:02

Congratulations Northern!

Lucinda15 · 02/03/2016 13:38

Wonderful news northern so chuffed for u Flowers

Feeling low today. Can't wait till my scan on Tuesday. Seems like the days are going by ridiculously slowly!

dobby Re. UTI's robinsons barley squash is fab at helping flush it out. Hope baby comes along soon! So excited for u Grin

Northernlight22 · 02/03/2016 14:04

Days do go so slowly - I've got that scan with the consultant tomorrow but then the next scan I shoukd have after that is the 12 week one which feels ages away!

Lucinda15 · 02/03/2016 14:11

My dating scan ended up being booked for 13 weeks. There is no way we can wait another 5 weeks after the 8 week one. Deffo booking a private scan at around 11 weeks.

I have been just about managing to stay positive, having wobbles now and then. But as I'm getting closer to scan and symptoms are coming and going and so mild, I'm just convincing myself there won't be a heartbeat on tues and preparing myself for the worst. the waiting is unbearable.

Going to have a cuppa and a biscuit in an attempt to stop wallowing in it and cheer myself up Brew wish I cld have something stronger! Wink

Turi1983 · 02/03/2016 15:48

LynseyH5 I’m sorry about the spotting – it really makes it impossible to relax, doesn’t it?

sundayraspberry eBAY! Tiffany Rose/Isabella Oliver/Seraphine do beautiful dresses that are so expensive but much more affordable on eBay.

dobby sorry to hear about the UTI – that’s the last thing you want right now!

bowser I’ve never heard such ignorant nonsense – some women drink, smoke, take drugs when pregnant and go on to have perfectly healthy babies. To cut out meat would never cause a miscarriage.

northern so pleased your scan went well. And relieved for you that you didn’t lose a twin in the end. I hope they get to the bottom of the cyst. I had a haematoma (clot) detected on my 6 week scan – it caused some spotting but had disappeared by my 8 week scan.

Lucinda if it’s any consolation, when I read how you felt, it mirrored exactly how I have felt in the lead up to scans. I cannot recommend private scans enough.

Thank you all for your kind words. Don’t know what I’d do without this thread.

On Monday I was sick in my mouth and had to swallow as I was on the train – everyone around me knew as I did a massive belch at the same time. It was mortifying. Spent the rest of the night with my head down the loo.

I’ve asked work if I can log-in from home for the foreseeable future. My journey in involves a walk, a bus, a tube and a walk at the other end and the motion doesn’t help one bit. Also I feel more comfortable when I’m not sitting upright (stomach feels less restricted) and wearing loose clothing. Because I’ve had an upset stomach/sometimes throw up it’s good to have a private loo as well. Waiting to hear back from my boss – fingers crossed.

I think part of the problem is that I have sinusitis. I thought it was a throat infection but no. I don’t want to take any mediation… too paranoid. Have been steaming my face and snorting salt water but the phlegm in the morning, starts the coughing which leads me to throw up. All a vicious cycle really. Moan moan moan…!

Eastend2015 · 02/03/2016 16:33

Turi have you tried sea sickness bands? Good hydration/ blood sugar seems to help so carry a few sweets with you.

positivity123 · 02/03/2016 17:21

Northern that is great news. What a relief!

Lucinda when is your next scan? It's so hard having to wait, it's like the day before your period when you ttc, you want to know but also dread it in case it's bad. Hope you can stay busy and not worry too much

I have a private 8 week scan tomorrow and I know I won't sleep tonight. I know I ovulated late so I'm worried my hormone levels mean that I can't sustain a pregnancy. I'm terrified as I'm not sure how I'd cope with another miscarriage.

Lucinda15 · 02/03/2016 18:13

Oh turi I am so sorry you are having such a rough time. It sounds ghastly!! I think you are being a trooper going in to work still when I would have totally bailed and gone off sick by now if that was happening to me. I really hope they let you work from home. Fingers crossed for u.

Thanks positivity I have an 8 week scan booked with EPU on Tuesday. Not too long but it suddenly feels like the closer I get the longer the days feel. I had a cry to my DH this morning - I just feel convinced there won't be a heartbeat and I know exactly what you mean, I just couldn't bare going through it all again. I'm so scared.

But - having said all that I'm really trying to be positive (although in not doing a very good job of it at the moment!) and trying to keep busy. Roll on tues!! X

hula16 · 02/03/2016 20:19

Thanks Jay and Dobby, i'll head on over but hopefully be back soon. Lots of luck ladies x

LynseyH5 · 02/03/2016 21:50

Yay northern that's great. Hope you go on ok tomorrow too. I had something called a luteal cyst spotted on my first early scan but exactly a wk later it had gone, hopefully it can be as simple as that for you too.

Still spotting today and it's driving me mad. Trying to just go with it and reassure myself it's just breakthrough bleeding. Gonna have a good chat with midwife tomorrow as I'm also struggling to level my moods (depression sucks).
Not feeling like I'm in a good place and the worry over this pregnancy (amongst other things) is pushing me to the limit.
Guess it doesn't help I hate where I live and have no real support around. Anyway, sorry for my moaning.

Sounds as though sickness is the major problem for most this wk, I hope you all get past this stage really quick and you can start to enjoy the pregnancy more.
I haven't got any suggestions that haven't already been mentioned I'm afraid. Do find sugar helps give a boost but not great for the waistline!

Lucinda15 · 02/03/2016 22:07

lynsey I'm sorry ur struggling with low moods too Flowers I hope the midwife tomorrow can offer some support. Best thing to speak about it and get some advice.....

Also - second the sugar advice! .I had a nice bowl of Ben and Jerry's this evening which has definitely helped Grin

Eastend2015 · 02/03/2016 22:40

I'm a raspberry jelly fan 😊 Definitely reccomend those 10p bags of Haribo too as they go easily in the handbag. Fruit and nuts do a good job too or weak squash. I agree it's not super healthy but then it's just a phase and won't last forever!

Eastend2015 · 02/03/2016 22:41

P.s. Lynsey we are all here for you xxx
