I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

spandau I've recently had trinothropirm was told its not safe in first and last trimester but fine to have in second? I'm such a worrier with antibiotics as been on them more than I'm not.
Reebok - DS had it early Dec and health visitor enquired with gp and mid wife and was told its not dangerous for pregnant women. I still worried though as seen things on the internet!

MotherofPearl · 16/01/2016 14:32

Dashing on in haste to say happy birthday to Icant's DS! Hope you are able to enjoy the day with him. X
Also so sorry to see that Reebok is having a nightmare day. Last thing you need is DD being unwell when you need to be resting.
Will catch up properly later.

spandau1980 · 16/01/2016 16:15

Oh great I've took one... I've lower abdo pain and right flank pains and not feeling well.. so presume it is a uti

I had this battle last pregnancy as I can't take penicillin as alergic can't take cephalexin nor nitrfuritoin so a.bit stuffed.
I know it stops folic acid intake but iv given this baby zero thanks to non stop HG and I'm middle road so not first or third trimester

As for DOCS not given out wrong meds.or advise ! Pah hahahaha
Iv been put in some right dangerous sceneries. ... so NO I don't trust them one bit I'm afraid !

spandau1980 · 16/01/2016 16:17

Had a guts full... wish I'd gone hospital now as at least they deal with stuff daily... my doc just Google. Everything not being funny but I could sit and Google. Stuff and I'd happily take a doc.wage !!!

Mop thank you, DS had a lovely day we didn't do much as bad sicky day but was lush to chill and see his little face excited.

PeppaPigStinks · 16/01/2016 21:34

Is anyone around for some advice? I've just checked my keytone levels and they were ++++.

What should I do. It feels a bit dramatic to take myself to a and e but still waiting for 111 to call me back.

MadrigalElectromotive · 16/01/2016 21:43

Hi Peppa, I think you need to go to a+e. 4+ ketones represents serious dehydration - bad for you and baby. Sorry things are so rough. Thanks

MotherofPearl · 16/01/2016 22:06

Peppa, please go to A&E. With ketones that high you will undoubtedly be feeling horrific. Can make you very bleary and confused too, in my experience anyway. You need IV rehydration and some IV meds to stabilised. Go now before the Saturday night rush. Good luck.

eallison88 · 16/01/2016 22:08

peppayou need to get yourself down to A&E, that's a lot of ketones. Or if you've got an Earl pregnancy unit you can refer yourself to?

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 16/01/2016 22:25

go to A&E peppa, no doubt you'll be feeling rotten x

PeppaPigStinks · 17/01/2016 07:57

Morning all. I ended up at out of hours doctors.
I wasn't admitted but was given two anti sickness jabs and antibiotics for a uti. I also started bleeding so have a scan next week.
I've managed a glass of dioralite so will try another in a bit.
They didn't seem too worried but I am really worried it's the start of a miscarriage

amysmummy12345 · 17/01/2016 08:16

Can't believe they didn't admit you peppa?!! I was in similar situation with dd1, started bleeding and severely dehydrated, even anti sickness jabs did nothing, gp wouldn't refer me so I went to a&e myself and they admitted me. Ended up having five or six bags of fluids iv. If you still struggle to keep stuff down don't be afraid to go to a&e xxx

PeppaPigStinks · 17/01/2016 08:25

I've been extremely natious but was only sick yesterday. I have previously had HG hence why I popped my head around.
I haven't eaten or drunk properly for a week because everything makes me gag. dr thinks the sickness yesterday was due to the uti.
He called the on call Gynae who said send me home. I have a feeling as it was midnight there probably wasn't many beds on the ward.
Amysmummy were you able to hold onto the pregnancy?

PeppaPigStinks · 17/01/2016 08:26

I did try to push to be admitted as last time I refused and ended up in a far worse state.

spandau1980 · 17/01/2016 08:38

Get your butt to a n e peppa !
Seriously ... make a fuss get seen get some fluids ... your ill

If you had a broken limb you'd be there in a shot ...

Good luck x

PeppaPigStinks · 17/01/2016 08:43

Spandeau I was seen last night. I've just managed another glass of drink just now with the antibiotics. I will give it an hour and see if I can keep it down.
I am supposed to be taking my children out today and they are really looking forward to it.

spandau1980 · 17/01/2016 08:50

Ok...
They ll have to miss it if your not well hunni

Mine have had to.miss alot :( but it's not forever thankfully :)

You have to come first .. as they need u x

PeppaPigStinks · 17/01/2016 08:54

Thank you everyone

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 17/01/2016 10:41

hope you keep the fluids down Peppa, if your ketones still high go to A&E. If you can tolerate lucozade I find that's good for a bit of energy/reducing ketones

LucindaE · 17/01/2016 10:50

Oh dear, Peppa I missed your emergency, where are you now? Has the bleeding stopped? As others say, that was a very high level of ketones and you must have felt terrible.
Spandau Sorry to hear of uti. Was the pain due to that? They are so painful and horribly freqeuent with Hyperemesis. It's bad you've been prescribed possibly risky stuff in the past; normally, doctors are so paranoid about prescribing in pregnancy.
ICan't How are you? Reebok How are you and poor DD?
I hope I haven't impolitely overlooked anyone.

PeppaPigStinks · 17/01/2016 10:57

Thank you everyone. I am home. I've had two dioralite now. The bleeding is no longer fresh red so I feel a bit more relieved. I will check my keytones again soon.
The friends we were due to go out with have taken child 1 so my husband can do something with child 2 now!

LucindaE · 17/01/2016 11:36

PeppaPigStinks Good news, and well done for keeping that awful stuff down. I so agree with what ICan't says about lucozade, though of course, that does tend to be a bit acid, it does seem to give you a boost; the glucose,I suppose.

peppa Glad that you're back home. Do take it easy.
spandau Hope you are feeling better.
I'm just back hospital after having a bleed checked out. All the worry associated with being rhesus negative. I was being sick there so I've been given metoclopramide to try also. SPD is playing up also so I'm feeling really grumpy Sad

LucindaE · 17/01/2016 17:14

squeezed Oh no, that must have been worrying. What meds did they have you on before, remind me, and sorry for forgetting?
There seems to be suffering all round.
