I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Thinking of you icant you're amazing xxx

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 08/12/2015 23:23

thank you spandau and Amy. and no worries meer thank you :)

Reebok · 09/12/2015 07:16

Icant you poor thing. I honestly don't know how you do it. Pls continue to post on here even if you can respond to anyone else. We're a family on this thread and just want to know how every member is doing including you!

Pain has calmed down. Had some cramps at 3am and had a bit of light brown spotting so I'm quite worried. Baby is still moving. Scan not until next Wednesday so going to call my midwife later. As I'm under 20 weeks they won't send me to maternity triage yet, I can't get seen by epau as I'm past the weeks they scan you so will probably just advise a&e which means no scan.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 09/12/2015 07:50

thank you Reebok . oh no that must be such a worry for you :( I hope you get a scan asap Flowers

amysmummy12345 · 09/12/2015 09:23

How are you Reebok? Hope you manage to get seen quickly, is there a maternity assessment unit at your hospital you could go to? Xx

BarmeeMarmee · 09/12/2015 11:54

How are you today Reebok? Please do get checked even if it is via A&E.

Icant you are amazing! Certainly put my complaints to shame.

How is everyone else today?

amysmummy12345 · 09/12/2015 13:37

Hospital just rang, first lot of results clear!!! So relieved, hopefully the rest will follow suit, I'm so happy right now but don't want to over step the mark and get too comfy until other results come back... Thanks to everyone who thought and prayed for me 😊 p.s amys going to have a little sister by the look of things 😍

OnceAMeerNotAlwaysAMeer · 09/12/2015 14:00

amys i am delighted to hear the preliminary news. been thinking and hoping for you. First hurdle cleared! now, fingers crossed for next week

yay for little sister! :)

Reebok · 09/12/2015 14:11

Amys that's lovely news, will continue to keep fingers crossed for you.

My gp is wonderful. There were no appointments but he still saw me straight away and bumped other appointments. Listened to heartbeat which was strong and then told me to go a&e although he did try his best to get maternity triage to see me. A&e were fab too! Saw I was dehydrated and gave me fluids and sickness through iv and also a scan. Baby is fine! They have ruled out placenta Previa and a placental abruption. They said its possibly a haematoma but not certain if that's causing bleeding and pain. I also have a slight water infection so on antibiotics...oh and guess what! I'm
Also team pink! Having another little girl! Smile

OnceAMeerNotAlwaysAMeer · 09/12/2015 14:14

reebok congrats!!!! :) lovely to hear

very glad that things have checked out okay so far and they picked up the UTI. And rehydrated you!

MotherofPearl · 09/12/2015 16:14

Thrilled to hear that Amys and Reebok are having baby girls, and so relieved for Amys about preliminary results being all clear. That must be a big weight off your mind.
Reebok, your GP sounds brilliant, so caring and thorough. I'm glad you got proper treatment and that all seems well with baby.
Icant, sorry things continue to be so tough for you. You deserve a medal for endurance.
I've just had a delightful mid-afternoon acid and bile vom. Horrid.

squeezed · 09/12/2015 16:53

So happy for you amys and reebok. Just need to top it off with you feeling wellSmile

spandau1980 · 09/12/2015 17:05

Congrats on little girls guys..

I think the dehydration is causing us cramps and in turn I think u had some old blood needing to vacate !
Roll on 24 weeks we ll all feel ore relaxed as babies will be viable.
I'm still cramping on n off but did in previous preg so trying to de stress over it.

Waves to all x

spandau1980 · 09/12/2015 17:06

Sorry about vom run MOP
Ew xx

shoopshoopsong · 09/12/2015 17:17

Reebok glad you had sensible doctor and positive experience of good treatment at A&E hopefully you'll feel a bit better soon and a good NHS experience is always a comfort to us all!

amysmummy12345 · 09/12/2015 17:17

Eek reebok exciting times!!! Your doctor sounds really amazing to get you seen so quickly! Sorry to hear you've had a rough afternoon MoP thanks once it is a high weight lifted! squeezed that would be like winning the lottery! Take it easy spandau how many weeks are you? We're 14 tomorrow xxx

LucindaE · 09/12/2015 17:35

Just got back from a Christmas shopping trip. My goodness, Reebok what a drama, so glad the GP dealt with it brilliantly and all is well. Nice news about your finding out baby's sex. Ha, Ha, OH will be put in his place in a household of females.
Ican't Nobody expects you to support anybody else when you are so ill, but as spandau and others say, we all want to know how you are doing.
Things can only improve, I think, though I don't want to 'tempt fate', as my mother would say .
amysmummy I am so glad the preliminary ones are clear. Nice news aout a girl. I don't know how it works, so don't know what that proves, but it sounds good. Sympathies about the pangs. I remember having a very sharp pang within hours of the amnio, and thought 'If I have an mc I'll blame myself' but it didn't come back. Hopefully it's easing off and you'll be fine.
TwoDrifters I hope those S and M exercises on the ironing board are making baby decide to turn.
Meerka We'll probably cross post next.
MotherofPearl Oh no, a bile run is nasty at any time of day.
squeezed I don't want to sound bossy, but it sounds as if you need to be off too, or you'll end up dehydrated and exhausted.
Madrigal spandau and everyone, I hope coping today. Watch me cross post with someone; back soon.

Lovely exciting news about the baby girls! Glad that you had some good news today as well amy.

Am feeling a bit better here today after a v tough day yesterday. I feel pretty dizzy though which isn't nice so hopefully that passes quickly. I am trying to pluck up the courage for some dinner - think I might have ice cream. I don't fancy anything else. Blush

spandau1980 · 09/12/2015 19:57

I'm 19 weeks tomorrow amy
Almost half way ... Got scan next Tues at daft time of 5 30 helpful not x

Reebok · 09/12/2015 20:17

Thanks ladies. Feeling relieved as the bleeding bad turned red so I was convinced it would be bad news. But it looks like my little girl is a fighter! Been put on bed rest for a week to help the bleeding subside so no work until next Thursday. Yay!

Mop sorry to hear about the bile run. Hope you're in bed!

Madrigal lovely that you've had a slightly better day. Enjoy the ice cream!

Lucinda haha! Yes oh will definitely be put in his place.

20 weeks on Friday. Halfway there! Although after today's scare I'm just trying to make it safely to 24 weeks.

Hoping everyone has a vomit free evening!

OnceAMeerNotAlwaysAMeer · 09/12/2015 20:40

very glad to hear you're on bedrest reebok.

MotherofPearl · 09/12/2015 21:31

So glad you're resting up Reebok. A week in bed will do you the world of good.
Madrigal, I went through a major ice cream phase a few weeks ago! I found vanilla so soothing.
I'm in bed and need to get some sleep. I've a v early morning tomorrow, teaching a class 9am. Factoring in my commute that means leaving the house at 6:40 Shock

TwoDrifters · 09/12/2015 23:20

amys and Reebok that's excellent news! Hurrah and huzzah!!

Lucinda I have been laying with my legs up the wall (!) & went for a long walk today to try & get him shifting.

I decided today to decline the manual turning procedure as there is only a 50% chance of it working & it can distress the baby so they are booking me in for a c-section in a few weeks unless he turns of his own accord first. Come on, kid!!!

Glad you're feeling a bit better Madrigal and hope your early start goes as painlessly as possible MoP

impatientlywaiting2015 · 09/12/2015 23:40

Meer thanks for the link- I had a good chuckle!

Amys so glad to hear the initial results are positive and yey for it being a girl. Hope the full results are just as good, will keep thinking of you.

Reebok- congrats on your girl- hope that the bleeding eases soon and glad the GP was good.
