If you had a single 'day off' from being pregnant, how would you spend it?!

My husband asked me this last night. He said if you could somehow have a single 'day off' being pregnant (he reassured me you'd be pregnant again the next day and everything would be fine with the baby, this is a magical, hypothetical question!), what would you do?

I came up with:

  1. Bend down A LOT to make the most of being able to do it!
  2. Enjoy not stressing about how baby is / if that feeling is normal etc!
  3. Sleep to make the most of being comfortable!
  4. Eat really runny boiled eggs and some stinky blue cheese
  5. Go for a run
  6. Curl up on the sofa with my knees into my chest
  7. Have some really energetic sex (with him, obviously!!)

He pointed out that I missed out having a glass of wine, so I also added that on too!

Oh well, baby due in 6 weeks so hopefully after that I will be able to gradually start getting back to doing some of these things! (Number 7 might have to wait a bit!)

Eat pate and drink red wine! Get my skinny jeans out and have night on the town!

TriJo · 15/10/2015 16:04

Beer, salami and a 50 mile bike ride.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/10/2015 16:06

Do lots of things with DS as he's been a bit neglected by tired, huge me

PS you know you can eat eggs right? If you're in the UK look for the lion stamp,no day off needed

Zamaz · 15/10/2015 16:14

Re: eggs, AbbeyRoadCrossing, I think eggs generally are fine, just not undercooked ones and I like my boiled eggs nearly raw!

Ah OK! I know you can have soft boiled / runny as they've been vaccinated but probably best not the raw Smile

Autumn2014 · 15/10/2015 16:23

I'm still struggling with all day sickness and nausea so eating a full meal would be lovely.
I'm currently planning a nice chicken korma with rice and coconut nan, once this passes.

Duckdeamon · 15/10/2015 16:24

I would just drink.

originalusernamefail · 15/10/2015 16:24

I'd eat brie, drink cocktails, walk without waddling and pick up DS1 without wincing.

Stinkilinky · 15/10/2015 16:32

Eat Brie, eat pate and get drunk!

Ladypug · 15/10/2015 16:32

I would devour an entire camembert, drink prosecco and sit in a hot tub :-)

BananaRaces · 15/10/2015 16:32

I would eat salami, rare steak and sushi (maybe not in the same meal).

Go for a really long walk, and sleep on my back!

cloudjumper · 15/10/2015 16:37

Sleep on my front!

fizzysweetie · 15/10/2015 16:42

Eat all the cheeses I'm not allowed to. Then eat more. Cheese cheese cheese.

Did I mention cheese?

I really miss cheese.

waxweasel · 15/10/2015 16:47

I would get utterly utterly pissed. It would be lovely. looks wistfully at the wine fridge

Stinkilinky · 15/10/2015 16:53

I ate loads of Camembert when I was pregnant, as long as it's piping hot all the way through, it's fine!

Zamaz · 15/10/2015 16:53

Hahahaha I love all your answers! Seems cheese and alcohol Wine feature heavily, amen to that! Grin
Ladypug I will join you in the hot tub!

Take a walk without my pelvis feeling like it's going to rip in half.

Get a 90 minute full body massage (being able to lay on my front would be heaven.

Drink my weight in margarita's and dance like crazy.

Tie my own shoes without feeling out of breath afterwards

Crazy sex with DH. Grin

toohardtothinkofaname · 15/10/2015 17:00

Beer festival!

HappyBeet · 15/10/2015 17:02

Drunk.

ROARING fucking drunk!

Haven't been a big drinker for some years, probably would get knocked on my ass by a glass of wine.

But I am really really looking forward to one (six) next year Grin

HappyBeet · 15/10/2015 17:03

Oh Brie, can I add in Brie?

Just a nice big chunk all for me, unwrap it and eat it like a sandwich...

GlasgowPingu · 15/10/2015 17:44

Get really, really, really drunk.

Having to move hoose twice without being able to have a wee relaxing glass of wine (or three) has not been fun :(

And in an epic scheduling fail I'm going to be heavily pregnant for both my brother and sister's weddings. Scottish weddings aren't exactly known for being abstemious affairs...

Brummiegirl15 · 15/10/2015 17:52

Get really really drunk.

Have a gorgeous dinner with DP of medium steak, cheeses and red wine and then go dancing until 2am drinking cocktails and champagne and then have glorious pissed filthy sex until dawn.

Today is actually my birthday so normally I would do that, but tonight sober celebration followed by a chaser of Gaviscon

#livingthedream

Runningupthathill82 · 15/10/2015 17:55

Fell run followed by Prosecco. Fuckloads of it.

CoffeeAndOranges · 15/10/2015 18:02

I would spend the day similarly to how I spent my birthday in early march (a day which may or may not be the day I conceived Grin)

Start with 5 mile run (cos my pelvis wouldn't be in tatters)
Pancakes for breakfast (with buckets of great strong coffee).
Rampant sex fuelled by lots of red wine in the afternoon
Lounge around on sofa (without crushing my internal organs with the weight of the baby).
Picky dinner with all manner of deli meats, squidgy cheeses, crackers, pates and more red wine.
Whisky nightcap. No Gaviscon needed for this forbidden gastronomic feast.
Bend down lots, tie and untie own shoes lots - cos I can!

Ahh, would be bliss...

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 15/10/2015 18:14

I'd need more than the one day to get drunk. After my first pregnancy hangovers started lasting days...
