I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

ems congratulations! Enjoy those first cuddles; amazing!

Reebok · 03/11/2015 07:40

Congrats ems!! That's wonderful news. Enjoy the lovely cuddles and being sick free xx

Reebok · 03/11/2015 07:42

I don't know why oh apologizes if he's just going to be a prat afterwards. He's been in a mood all morning because dd woke at 6 and only wanted him...then she was playing up and he didn't want to do drop off so we had a fight. He did the drop off in the end but why tell me he will help more if all he's going to do is whine and fight with me about it. I'm really starting to feel a rage against him this pregnancy. I can't stand him...I hate being in the same room as him. He just does my head in and all I want to do is slap him! Do I sound crAzy?

spandau1980 · 03/11/2015 07:45

Oh wow ! Didn't know you were so far along !! Huge congratulations xxx

shoopshoopsong · 03/11/2015 09:25

Heavenscent86 · 03/11/2015 09:39

Congrats Ems. So happy for you!

Heavenscent86 · 03/11/2015 09:40

Anyone else have a peak in the hyperemesis around 18 weeks. I'm 18+2 and for the last week have been getting progressively worse again. Laid up in bed again today feeling so low Sad I thought I was over most of it by now.

amysmummy12345 · 03/11/2015 10:29

Congrats Emms!! Cant wait for that day to arrive, seems such a long way off, like I have to keep reminding myself that there is a lil bean in there that's making me feel this way ?? x

spandau1980 · 03/11/2015 10:39

I don't feel pregnant I just feel pissed off tbh
Reebok my other half I s being a twat too
He has the gaul to say yest when twins were playing up
Their your responsibility you need to pull yourself together and deal with them

EXCUSE F ING ME!!!! ?????

at which point a massive row erupted

MadrigalElectromotive · 03/11/2015 11:18

Sorry spandau and Reebok that your OHs are being less than supportive. That's the last thing you need.

I am back in hospital. They're giving me fluids, iv ondansetron and iv stemetil. I was hoping to go home later but I've got protein and blood in my urine as well as ketones so they're sending a renal specialist round and may want me to stay in overnight. Have managed not to be sick since I got here though so trying to focus on small victories.

bugista · 03/11/2015 11:26

CONGRATULATIONS Ems!! That's so amazing, wohoo. Can't wait to hear all about it - hope you guys are doing brilliantly.

Spandau, Reebok so sorry your OHs are being annoying, it's SO HARD when they just don't get it. :(

Madrigal sounds like you've had a bit of a 'mare, hope the IV drugs help and you get some rest! Let us know how you do.

Hugs to all and welcome to amy

amysmummy12345 · 03/11/2015 11:51

Thanks Bugista just been to Asda pharmacy and got some ketosticks... The woman was reluctant at first and said "has someone told you to use them?" So I lied and said yeah my doctor!

spandau1980 · 03/11/2015 12:06

No one.would sell.them.to me.here
Nor enemas
Crazy.

LucindaE · 03/11/2015 12:36

EMS That is wonderful news. Congratulations. Flowers Grin Brew Welcome the Pink Castle at the end of the Hyperemesis Non Fun Ride. You've been wonderfully supportive to everyone here. Do tell us the full story when you have a minute, which won't e often.
Oh dear, poor Ican't in hospital, and Madrigal back, having only been out a short time. I hope you are both feeling a bit better.
Reebok Mother Hen says you are in no state to go back to work so soon.
amy'smum I hope you get some meds and manage to get sick leave.
Much sympathy to spandau amy Reebok and everyone who's OH is being less than understanding about the suffering involved in this.

Bugista Sorry, missed your post. Hope you are dong more or less OK?
Still delighted about news from EMS.

Gingerlady123 · 03/11/2015 13:11

No one would sell me keto sticks when I tried and they told me nobody near by would either.
Spandau and reebok your oh's should step up! How are they when they have a stomach bug or cold I bet they whinge . So unfair on you both.
Only vomited once so far today and managed nothing yesterday. So all good here really as still managing at least 1.5 litres a day now as the vomiting has tapered off a lot so at least I don't risk dehydration. I feel so sorry for everyone that are so much worse than me.
Spandau you will feel more pregnant when you start feeling movements etc. baby has jabbed me a few times in the last few hours. It will get better and you will have better days.
Ems- massive congrats. A little boy yay. I bet he was al worth it. Hope you and baby are ok

MotherofPearl · 03/11/2015 14:36

I've had mixed few days: yesterday was good, but today much less so. Caught short this morning (again!) in the kitchen, no time to dash to loo or grab a bowl so was sick in kitchen sink. Charming. Nothing too lumpy, luckily, but still. Blush
Gosh, lots has been happening on here! Big congrats to Ems on your happy news! You must be so thrilled that all is well, and of course that HG is over. Do you feel completely sickness free?
Welcome to Amysmummy, and sorry you're suffering. Plenty of help and support on here as you can see.
Spandau and Reebok, sorry to hear your OHs are being so unhelpful and rubbish. It's really not what you need. One thing I did with my partner was to sit him down and try to force him to imagine how it was to be me: told him to think of bad sickness bug or worst hangover, but instead of lasting for a day, it goes on for weeks. Imagine feeling nauseous every waking moment of every day. Imagine actually vomiting every day, for weeks/months on end. It did seem to make him think and be more considerate.
How are those in hospital doing? Madrigal and Icant? I do think it's the one place where you have a fighting chance of feeling better. Apart from the joys of IV drugs and rehydration, it's also the enforced bed rest.
Speaking of which, I'm going to have my afternoon rest now. Waves to Shoop, Bugista, Ginger, Lucinda and everyone. I wonder what's become of Meerka?

bugista · 03/11/2015 14:40

Thanks Lucinda I'm still going okay - mornings voms are still happening but rest of the day is better apart from the constant nausea but I'm hoping that will continue to lessen as I'm 20 weeks on Sat.

I've also got my 20 week scan on Friday which is exciting!

I've had a few voms in the kitchen sink mop it's not just you - if that makes you feel better at all! ;-) x

MadrigalElectromotive · 03/11/2015 14:46

I was sick in the kitchen sink the other day MOP the joys of hyperemesis!

Starting to feel better here. Looks like I will be going home as long as my kidneys stop bleeding.

I can't remember who was asking about ketostix, and can't scroll back on iPad, but I bought mine on Amazon. No questions asked. Smile

amysmummy12345 · 03/11/2015 14:46

gingerlady123 1.5l is amazing!!! Keep it up gal! I'm lucky to get 500ml down me! Even then I've got DD sucking it back out via breastmilk... Goodness knows how my milk hasn't dried up.... Wishful thinking lol motherofpearl just being amongst those who understand makes it 1000 times more manageable xxx

amysmummy12345 · 03/11/2015 14:49

madrigal mop bugista I've had many a "sink" moment too over the past few weeks Confused

spandau1980 · 03/11/2015 15:21

spandau1980 · 03/11/2015 15:22

Getting in a sink or toilet is an achievement hahha

Gingerlady123 · 03/11/2015 15:35

Amy- hope your better soon and can keep more down.

Phenergan is still safe at 20 weeks right? I'm considering stopping but need it some days but so scared I shouldn't be taking it now. Is anyone able to put my mind at rest?
I've had a few sink vomits as well
