This is my 3rd pregnancy. It has felt totally different to the previous two the whole way along, and now I'm 40wks but haven't felt any movement at all for 12hours, and she's been slowing all week. The other two came at 38wks. Husband is not home and I have no one to leave kids with if I went to a&e/antenatal ward. If something had gone wrong would there be any signs? Ive not had a show, or any bleeding, but have had a bit of standard looking discharge. I just can't shake the feeling something isn't right.

He's on the train home. Thank you I feel less daft trusting my instinct now.

How long will it take for him to be home?

Hellochicken · 10/09/2015 20:33

I am not a worrier but I still would suggest you ring the ward at least. Even if all is well, you deserve the reassurance of a check over. Whether that is tonight or tomorrow, maybe they can advise. Tell them you feel uneasy- it is relevant.

DartmoorDoughnut · 10/09/2015 20:33

I'm sure everything is fine but I put a massive amount of trust in a mother's instinct and if you think something isn't quite right I agree 100% that you need to get checked over tonight. Even if it is just reassurance it's worth it x

Bunnyjo · 10/09/2015 20:34

Now that your DH is on the way home, ring antenatal ward so they know to expect you.

Best wishes and I hope everything is OK flowers

Borderterrierpuppy · 10/09/2015 20:34

Straight to hospital op, take the kids if your husband will be a while and meet him there x

daisydalrymple · 10/09/2015 20:35

I hope you manage to get checked over tonight op, please let us know how you get on.

Doublebubblebubble · 10/09/2015 20:35

Try ice cream - sugary drinks - ice - a cup of tea do anything to get that baby moving again... And most important get checked..now!! Do not leave anything to chance. Fingers crossed that everything is fine but mothers instinct is there for a reason. Also, babies DO NOT SLOW DOWN TOWARD THE END THEY HAVE ENOUGH ROOM TO DO A BACKFLIP DURING LABOUR IF THEY WANTED TO.

Get checked. It's really important.

But by the same token, don't panic. My DD didn't move for the entire day before labour and she was absolutely fine. I, on the other hand, was terrified. I also lost 3 pints of blood as well so I was convinced the worst had happened.

YouBastardSockBalls · 10/09/2015 20:42

Hope everything's ok OP. Please please do get checked tonight Flowers

bessie84 · 10/09/2015 20:42

please go get checked tonight. ring someone tonight.

3littlebadgers · 10/09/2015 20:43

Please call the hospital, maybe the they could send someone from the. Homebirth team to listen to the heartbeat before DH gets in. Drink a cold fizzy drink if you have one.

BifsWif · 10/09/2015 20:43

Please get checked tonight OP. Don't put it off.

However, I had the same 'feeling' as you in my last pregnancy, and had to get checked out twice for reduced/no movements. My healthy 16 week old girl is sleeping as I type - she was a big baby, 11lb, and the midwives said she'd simply ran out of room which is why I wasn't feeling as many movements. Don't panic, but do get checked tonight. I can't stress enough how important that is Flowers

Hospital now, with kids if necessary. Don't put it off.

BoffinMum · 10/09/2015 20:45

PS No need to panic. One of mine slowed down just before a perfectly normal birth, but just in case there is a cord problem or something you need looking at immediately.

slithytove · 10/09/2015 20:46

Please go and get checked, I didn't, and I was one of the unlucky ones.

stillnotjustamummy · 10/09/2015 20:48

He should be home by 9.10 and I called in my mum as a back up. I've had some small movements in response to the chocolate and sugar binge. Antenatal ward are apparently very busy tonight, they suggested hanging on and seeing if there is more movement.

BifsWif · 10/09/2015 20:50

I would ring back and demand to be seen, busy or not!

HannahHobbins · 10/09/2015 20:50

slithy Flowers

Maybe hang on till dh gets home and then go!?

YouBastardSockBalls · 10/09/2015 20:51

What, really!? That's shocking.

Get checked. Don't worry about the midwives being sniffy with you, your baby is what matters.

Topsy34 · 10/09/2015 20:52

Please please do not wait til morning, you really need to get checked. A baby may not have so much room so the kicks can feel different but there should not be less.

Have a look at Count the Kicks web site for some more info.

It is more than likely everything is completely fine, but please dont take the risk

PacificDogwood · 10/09/2015 20:52

Get. Checked. Tonight.
In all likelyhood all is well, but the small chance that is isn't is there and needs ruling out.
So go in whenever you can.
Antenatal wards are busy, that is what they are there for.
