I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Badly constipated again. Going to try a suppository and if that doesn't work enema again. I hate this.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 03/10/2015 09:41

Ooh not good reebok I hope it works :(

Reebok · 03/10/2015 09:43

Bad side effect of ondansetron Icant. Thanks. So frustrated by this.

MotherofPearl · 03/10/2015 09:56

I do worry that I've come to rely on suppositories to 'go'. I assume my body will be able to go back to normal afterwards.
Reebok, you have inspired me to add some tinned pineapple to my online food shop.
icant, hope you are feeling a bit better today. Absurd about one week of meds.
Lying here thinking: this time next year baby will already be 4.5 months old. Smile

shoopshoopsong · 03/10/2015 10:14

That's a great attitude MoP this time next year HG will be a distant memory

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 03/10/2015 10:26

Oh no reebok
Thanks mother feel a lot better but know it's falsely due to the IV medication but still I'll make the most of it! That's such a strange thought that we will all (pray to God!) have our babies this time next year :)

spandau1980 · 03/10/2015 11:05

Never had any dc in that area icant
Tinned pinapple gonna get some
Will it ease constipation? ?
I'm so bunged up.its hurting ...
What are we allowed to take
Can't stomach lactose I'll chuck
Nightmare x

Reebok · 03/10/2015 11:44

Had to use enema again in the end. Piles are causing absolute agony. Mop, how often do you use suppositories? I think I'm far too bunged up by the time I try and fibergel doesn't work..made me vom. Lactuluse made me Vom
Too.

Spandau, try suppositories. If you are as bunged up as me, eating things with fibre will do nothing. Pineapple just helps with the nausea for me.

Pain is killing me! I'm so sore! Had a warm bath and now sitting on a hot water bottle having used sudocream

spandau1980 · 03/10/2015 12:14

Yea I have piles too :(
Hate suppositories make me sweat and feel sick !
Think I'm too much of a whip to child bare x

MotherofPearl · 03/10/2015 12:18

Reebok I use the suppositories about 3 times a week. Have managed to go naturally too, but only once or twice. Am considering getting an enema kit.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 03/10/2015 12:28

Ah ladies that all sounds awful, I feel bad for whinging having the opposite now Blush

Reebok · 03/10/2015 12:32

I can't go naturally at all Mop. I didn't have constipation this bad with dd but suppose I wasn't on ondansetron. Will try to use suppositories more regularly. Only using when I really have to which is probably why they don't help me. Cannot sit! My entire butt is aching. I keep crying from the pain.

spandau1980 · 03/10/2015 13:05

Just tried one ... hasn't done anything :/

Reebok · 03/10/2015 13:37

Spandau, you sound like you are as bunged up as me in which case the suppository won't work. Get dh to get you an enema from chemist. Works within minutes..it will be very painful as you have piles like me but it will give you relief. Once you manage to go, have a warm bath and then sit on a hot water bottle...it's really helping me.

MotherofPearl · 03/10/2015 13:52

Don't know if this tip will help anyone else, but after not drinking any water for a month, I'm finding very cold fizzy water in tiny sips goes down well. Ridiculous I know but I only like San Pellegrino which has small bubbles. Blush Somehow it's less 'slimy' than normal water which I absolutely cannot touch. I also took Ealli's advice about fruity mouthwash, and find Listerine Cool Citrus (diluted) helps with my mucus and spit problem. Like her I take sniffs from the bottle to ease nausea; it has a nice 'medicinal' smell.
Reebok, hope your poor bottom feels better soon.

shoopshoopsong · 03/10/2015 13:56

I 2nd the fizzy water with lots of ice. I don't even bother with normal water now, apart from occasionally a hot water when I wish I could stomach tea

bugista · 03/10/2015 14:47

Ahh what I wouldn't give to be able to drink and enjoy a nice cup of tea Shoop!

I'm so sorry so many of you are blocked up, I've had that before and it's so awful. Enema helped me - it was a bit painful but relief afterward outweighed that! Hope it helps for you guys.

I'm having a "bad" day relatively speaking, vommed this morning and nausea is really high but OH is taking me to get some maternity clothes as my bras don't fit. Then will come home and lie in bed for the rest of the day. Hope everyone is managing to rest today as much as poss xx

eallison88 · 03/10/2015 16:19

mop I'm pleased you've managed to find a mouthwash that works :)

Those who miss tea; I feel your pain! Just think though, that tea and toast you'll eat with baby in your arms will be the best tea and you'll ever have!

eallison88 · 03/10/2015 16:20

bugista hope the shipping trip was successful and hasn't worn you out too much

spandau1980 · 03/10/2015 17:55

Dear all.
Just thrown up all my lunch. 4 hours later grrr gross. Crying again.
Asked at boots for enema and she said don't do one only.recommend lactulose which I can't take :( as it makes me feel sick when not HG
Dunno how I can manage any more
Tablets do stop me being as sick but not much and feel constantly sick no matter what . But give you horrific constapation
Which can't fix easily when ya can't drink or eat anything to ease it ffs

Can't do this :(

Reebok · 03/10/2015 18:08

Thanks for the tip Mop. Will have to try fizzy water as I'm really struggling to drink. Had to give up coke as it resulted in really bad reflux and horrendously painful throw up!

Bugista sorry you had a rough day re nausea. Hope you're home resting now.

Spandau that's really odd that they said they don't sell it. Send oh to a chemist and ask for fleet saline enema. It's basically water... Have attached a pic of it.

Still in pain but hey ho!

spandau1980 · 03/10/2015 19:07

Reebok
The coke made it horrific to ve sick too ... shame as it helped sometimes
Are pinapple ok to chuck ? What a convo !!!

I'll. Ask him too but chemists shut til.monday now argh xx

Reebok · 03/10/2015 19:29

Oh no you poor thing! Try the suppositories again with lots of Vaseline. And if you have sudocream use that to ease the piles...you may have to erm...use manual extraction if you have any gloves. Gross yes but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Pineapple is surprisingly the only thing I can keep down. I love love love it!

bugista · 03/10/2015 19:35

I just bought some tinned pineapple, Reebok thanks. My OH is so used to me now saying "my online support group recommended it!!" Haha.

Spandau you poor thing, hope you can do something to ease it until mon and then can get an enema. V weird the pharmacist didn't have one!

Ealli thanks you are the testament we can all do this - hope you're loving every min with your little bub.

Hope everyone else is ok today, MoP, Shoop, Icant, Meerka and everyone else xx

MotherofPearl · 03/10/2015 20:11

Reebok, I foresee a massive spike in the sale of tinned pineapple following your recommendation! Suppliers everywhere will be mystified!
