Just wondering really.
I remember finding out I was pregnant and had a 6 week scan and around that time I'd googled what the baby was like, what size it was etc and read it was the size of a lentil, so my baby was always called lentil. Even now at nearly 20 weeks I still call him lentil and so do my friends. Part of me is wondering whether I'll end up calling him that when he's born as it's stuck so much!

What were your names?

My last baby had the name Ping. My eldest DS thought the scan would be like sonar on a submarine.

We call ours Pea. I have a feeling I may continue to caly my poor babs Pea after s/he is born. I had names for both of my younger siblings when my Mam was pregnant (my siblings are now 18 and 20) and I still on occasion call them by their 'bump names'. haha. I think I may have to start with 'Sweet Pea' now. At least that's a socially acceptable term of endearment for a little one (I hope!)

At least I named Pea before the scan! I had one the day before yesterday, and if the sonographer hadn't talked me through what I was looking at, I could well have believed I was pregnant with one the little broken bits of Nik-Nak you find at the bottom of the packet :-)

I called my first Button (it occaisionally gets used by me) second Bean (also use this). Though everyone else refered to them as minibabybel (play on their surname). 1st mc = Roo. 2nd = Kanga. 3rd. Didn't.
Pregnant now. Trying to avoid naming but egg and kumquat seem to come up.

The parasite/the alien/thing/Murgatroyd - it depended who I was talking to.

Nutmeg because when I first found out I was pregnant I craved egg custard tarts!

I feel like Nutmeg is a girls name and we've been referring to nutmeg as a girl, but I don't know the baby's gender yet...it'll take some getting used to if it turns out to be a boy!

Currently I'm carrying 'wardrobe' courtesy of my 3yo niece who thought that would be a good baby name. That had better not carry on post-birth or the poor child will be traumatised!

DS was Sea monkey :)
My 5yo niece used to always say I was to name him Harry Potter so sometimes referred to as Harry. She used to talk to my bump and say "you're a wizard Harry" haha

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 02/08/2015 18:13

not a thing now - all of our bumps had names & the youngest bump is now 22!

I'm struggling to remember them though. One was Elliott. DH says one was just Bump (how boring). One was Chester & I think one was Boris.

Most on here are much better Smile

Only ever named DC4 bump which was named by DC1 and it was Bob. Didn't know if it would be DD or DS but Bob stuck, the first two weeks of life DC4 was called Bob by most of the family.

MrsFruitcake · 03/08/2015 08:03

Both DD and DS were known as 'The Bean'. The fetal heartrate monitor in the labour ward was the 'bean machine'. Grin

Now they're referred to the as 'the girl' and 'the boy'.
