Hiya, i'm nine weeks pregnant and way more emotional than i ever have been when pregnant before. I cry at the drop of a hat. I was feeling dreadful the other night and cried when d gave me a blanket. but the stupidest was last night, we were watching Gordan Ramseys kitchen nightmares, and i started sobbing when he told the chef that his meal was nice! I can't be alone... Any one?

ooh and those RSPCA adverts 'this kitten was thrown away by his owner'

2nervesleft · 16/11/2006 23:22

Unexpectedly came across a boy brigade/scouts type parade while shopping in town when 9 weeks pg and cried buckets.
Not sure why, could have been the beauty and majesty of a load of scruffy herberts carrying flags? WTF?

BettySpaghetti · 17/11/2006 08:20

trefusis -LOL at sobbing at a sign for bananas!

The things hormones do to us!

bumperlicious · 17/11/2006 10:09

HEALTH WARNING TO ALL OF YOU: do NOT watch children in need tonight! I cried at it last year and wasn't even PG. If we can cry at nuts, bananas and ice cream what do you think the chance are of us NOT crying at the sad little vignettes they do about poor and neglected children. Oh god, welling up just thinking about it!

dollyjack · 17/11/2006 11:33

When I first became preg I wept over a programme where Ian Wright (ex footballer) tried to get fat kids to go healthy. My Dh still reminds me about how I wept for the fat kids. Also anything with a dog in it that dies, obviously. Have to avoid all Pet Resue type programmes. Funny though I can watch anything that involves a bit of gore without batting an eyelid now. That show 'Trauma' no problem and one the other night about a body farm! dead bodies, magots don't mind it. I'm right up there wanting to know the ins and outs. Must be my body/brain preparing itself for child birth!

When I was 8 months with dd and frantically nesting at 1 o clock at night my dp gave out to me and yelled at me to go to bed. I broke down sobbing on the floor, convinced that the Public Health Nurse would take my baby away if I didn't get the skirting boards in the bedroom washed.

dollyjack · 17/11/2006 11:39

Oh just remembered I cried last week cause I was no longer capable of doing the hoovering. I was hysterical. DH thought something terrible had happened.

izzybiz · 17/11/2006 11:52

I was 18 weeks PG and it was xmas day, my Sil had bought a present for my baby, on the label it said To baby Barstow the 2nd!

I burst into tears and kept on all day every time i thought about it!

PinkTinsel · 17/11/2006 11:55

oh and at the beginning of ds's preg my boss at work was giving me grief. an old man who'd beenhaving his meal near my bar came up and told me how outraged he was on my behalf and wanted to complain to her superior for speaking to me like that in front of customers.

i was a gibbering wreck for 2 hours and went home and told dp i thought i was pregnant!

lubella · 17/11/2006 12:21

What a wonderful thread - Antiques Roadshow is my Fave so far

For me I had to turn off Watership Down after the bit where Fiver quitely whispers "Hazels not dead...." I literally lost my breath with deep sorrow

bumperlicious · 17/11/2006 12:26

Urrgghhh, I cried at work the other day. Someone in a meeting was really hostile to me, left the meeting with a fake grin plastered on my face then ran into a little room and bawled into my pashmina. Everyone knew I had been crying too. Sooooo embarassing! Though I probably would have cried PG or not - I hate confrontation, especially being told-off, my mum can still make me cry by doing that!

KathyMCMLXXII · 17/11/2006 12:30

Lubella, I can trump Antiques Roadshow - I cried at David Dickinson's 'The Real Deal' when someone got a good price for their antiques in the auction

fluffyslippers · 17/11/2006 12:32

I cry over the X Factor especially at the beginning when they found out if they got through the auditions or not.

lubella · 17/11/2006 12:33

wets self Kathy that has truly trumped Antiques Roadshow

stardustmom · 17/11/2006 13:27

ledodgyfireworksingedmyeyebrow · 17/11/2006 13:28

I met my friend and her dp when I was pregnant in Boots with my dp they said hello and I burst into tears! To this day I don't know why I cried I just couldn't stop.

maxwellsmum · 17/11/2006 13:31

My DH came in from work one night and didnt give me a kiss! I sat and sobbed for at least an hour and he couldnt do a thing!
Arent pregnancy hormones great!

hugeheadofhair · 17/11/2006 22:46

I cried because I couldn't stop laughing at a joke my also pregnant friend made about a name if her baby was a boy. If it was a girl it would be called Kira, and if a boy it had to be Odo. I cried/laughed for at least ten minutes.

She got a lovely daughter Ciara.

annobal · 18/11/2006 17:52

I cried at neighbours this week when Susan asked Karl to "come home"

Trinityrhino · 18/11/2006 17:57

I watched the extremem breastfeeding programme again and sobbedmy heart out when the twins that were 2 were weaned, I could not stop crying and just wanted to hug them, they were soo upset by I had already seen it and knew they were fine in a day or two

minibar · 18/11/2006 21:34

Carpet grippers.
When I was pregnant with DD we were having a new carpet fitted upstairs and were keeping the old ones to save a bit of cash - I was having a nap the day before the new carpet was delivered and FiL took them all up - he thought he was helping!
I went a bit loopy and cried hysterically for an hour. Think he went to sit in the car to get away from me!
And am pregnant again now and got a bit weepy today when watching the Wizard of Oz and it went from black and white to colour. hmmmm

NomDePlume · 19/11/2006 13:54

OH PMSL @ crying over carpet grippers. The grippers and the baby bananas are the funniest ones for me so far.

LOL @ PocketTasha crying over my matey story

Daisypops · 21/11/2006 11:15

I was very emotional at the weekend. My sensor on my car key wouldn't work so my boot wouldn't lock so I cried and went off on one for about 30 minutes. Then on sunday morning my hair dryer blew up when I was using it so I cried a bit more. My face was all puffy with crying so much. DP was very patient and kind. I'm tired too and everything is much worse when your tired.

poppynic · 21/11/2006 11:21

Not sure about stupid - but I did feel bad when I burst into tears at dp telling me his mother would come up and help at the time of the birth (ahh - this was tears in a bad way, not a grateful way).

MegaLegs · 21/11/2006 11:28

I am not pg and most of these have made me well up. For some reason seeing little old ladies shopping on their own made me cry alot during my pgs.
DS1 is singing a solo, dressed as an angel in the school nativity in a couple of weeks (small gloat ) I will be a wreck !
