Just wandering how many of you actually enjoyed being pregnant & blooming! I just felt like a beached whale & even though I didnt have any sickness or anything I didnt really enjoy it at all and its putting me off having another baby. Nine whole months of being boring! is it just me or do others feel the same?

First pregnancy - yes
2nd pregnancy - no

Loved the 1st pg & loathed the 2nd. Don't let it put you off having another, though. It's actually 6 months of "being boring", with the last 3 especially difficult. I hated my size, especially as it was the hottest summer on record. Was only happy in the pool.

mumfor1standfinaltime · 09/11/2006 21:36

I loved it to start with, you know before you get so big you can't get out of the bath on your own or see your feet anymore, I had no sickness and felt great at first.
Best things for me were bigger boobs, having the excuse to eat lots and feeling ds move.
Worst thing for me was needing the loo more often, like every 5 mins towards the end

adored being pregnant.

felt beautiful, sexy, mellow, creative, connected....

ahhhhh.....miss feeling those things!

expatinscotland · 09/11/2006 21:40

Quootiepie · 09/11/2006 21:42

tegan · 09/11/2006 22:15

I thoroughly enjoyed being pg and giving birth both times even though they were very different.

I have always said give me pregnancy and birth then take it away and give it back when it's 18 and can look after itself.

PinkTinsel · 09/11/2006 22:18

i hated the details but loved the general 'oooooo, i'm growing a baby feeling' iykwim.

the aches and pains and discomfort were pure hell and often had me in tears but that gorgeous earth mothery sensation of creating a new life and carrying it within you is lovely

I love being pregnant once I get past the sickness stage (which starts earlier and lasts longer with each subsequent pg ). I am miserable whilst ill. But I do make up for it by feeling incredibly healthy and full of the joys of life for the rest of the pregnancy!

MKG · 09/11/2006 22:40

I hated being pregnant, but I loved giving birth. I would go through labor and delivery a million times.

FawkesBride · 09/11/2006 23:14

I hate it. It's vile.

I feel sick, tired, can't breathe properly, if I bend in the middle I think I'm going to snap the baby in half, I HATE it moving, I hate feet under my rib cage. I get piles, stretchmarks and broken veins on my legs. My navel has moved to the right. I get sciatica and my back is agony.

But I'll probably have a 4th

And I like giving birth !

mears · 09/11/2006 23:15

Me. Loved it. Loved labour and giving birth. Loved breastfeeding. Would do it again tomorrow

CountessDracula · 09/11/2006 23:17

ME

I was dreading it and I bloody loved it! I felt fantastic for most of it and was so fascinated by what was happening. I really missed the kicking once dd was born.

hamstermunker · 09/11/2006 23:18

I LOVED being pregnant with DS1. I have never felt better or healthier as when pg with him - I really, really bloomed.

I hated being pg with DS2 I had gestational diabetes and felt appalling.

Love the boys though, obv

NatalieJane · 09/11/2006 23:22

I loved my first pregnancy, and spent the next four years hankering after being pregnant again, finally went for it, and can honestly say the sooner this pregnancy is over the better! I've had no major health problems, and baby is fine and everything else which is obviously the main thing, but I am heading into my fifth week of strong regular contractions, of most nights managing about 3 hours sleep, sometimes more, sometimes none, and just to put the cherry on the cake, I have now swollen up like you couldn't imagine!

Only 20 days till EDD though, so there is light at the end of the tunnel yet!

Gillian76 · 09/11/2006 23:24

Overall I enjoyed the experience each time. The middle bit was certainly more pleasant - after the sickness and before the backache and impatience!

madchad · 10/11/2006 00:04

Me x 3, even though I was enormous the first two times. Had nice Mat clothes which helped. Caught myself admiring someone's bump the other day and hankering after no 4....

vontrapp · 10/11/2006 01:27

me, i loved it. twice.

maltatheterrible · 10/11/2006 07:37

loving it, first time and feel radiant. spent 5 minutes admiring my naked self in the mirror yesterday - which is something I would never have done pre-pregnancy as I hated my body.
now I feel like a seal, replete, curvy and glowing.
DP was just staring in horror but I have enough admiration of my smart body for both of us

chitchat07 · 10/11/2006 08:47

I'm 5 months pregnant now, and no, I'm not loving it. I love the fact that we're going to have a baby, but not loving the pregnancy bit. Was sick for the first 4 months. Feeling really good now, but definitely do NOT feel womanly and beautiful. Feeling fat and frumpy. Hate the big boobs, and the growing belly is making me realise just how difficult it is going to be later on.

And all the attention? Some of it is nice, but where the h* do people get off rubbing your belly???? AND ITS ONLY STARTED!!!! I swear, some people are going to get their hands broken if they insist on touching my belly 'for good luck', and then they'll realise just how flipping unlucky it is!!!
