Hi and Welcome melon and alittlebitof! Hope all goes well for you both.

I was hoping for an early scan too - not sure when I'm due as not had AF since mc - but no sign of one yet. I'm only about 5 weeks so will see what they say at booking in and maybe have to bite the bullet and pay for one. Although I'm not sure how long it will relieve the stress for so is it worth it? I can't wait until I can feel baby moving around in there!

Alittlebitofeverything · 18/05/2015 15:54

Lilliana I paid for my early scan, I found out I was pregnant at 4 weeks and got the date for my first scan and it fell at 13 weeks and decided I couldn't possibly wait so had mine at 10 weeks. It really really put my mind at rest, could see the heart beat and the baby was definitely there which was a great relief. I kept doing pregnancy tests up to the day of the scan as I was really worried things wouldn't go to plan and certainly feel reassured by it. I'm definitely sleeping better anyway!

Lilliana · 18/05/2015 17:28

I can see you all again! Is there a stats list? I get confused how far along everyone is as we're all at different stages.

Amyyy27 · 18/05/2015 17:37

Barbiedoll79 · 18/05/2015 18:08

I'm 14 weeks tomorrow :-)

onefootinthebed · 18/05/2015 18:13

Hi ladies I was so tired earlier on I didn't post properly. I had been awake since 4am.

My scan was 8.30am and they didn't see me and my bulging bladder till 9 am. Baby is 12 weeks plus due the 28th of November. The baby moved and moved. As soon as it was on screen my husband was like wow it's huge. The downs test measurement was 1.5 however I don't know why we got this done because even if it came back I wouldn't have the second lot of tests.

Keys I'm fine, I think I was just so over tired from worrying about the scan, everything going on at work and other factors going on in my life. I must have had only 7 hours sleep since Friday night. Hope you are getting looked after and you have some news on your blood clots.xx

Wellcome to Mellon and abit xx

onefootinthebed · 18/05/2015 18:15

Oh Amyy I can't believe you are I'll still. And barbie 14 weeks wow.

Alittlebitofeverything · 18/05/2015 18:19

I will be 12 weeks tomorrow

Barbiedoll79 · 18/05/2015 18:26

Fantastic news one :-)
I love that we are getting lots at the end of first trimester now :)

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 18/05/2015 18:42

Great news one. We also got the rest knowing that we wouldn't have further testing but we figured it might help us to prepare if we were high risk and equally we are very reassured to know that each baby has a 1 in 20,000 risk!

Amyyy27 · 18/05/2015 18:45

Lovely news onefoot :)

Lilliana · 18/05/2015 18:48

Glad the baby is so wiggly one. What does 1.5 mean? I'm sure I knew this once! We had the test done for DD, even though we probably wouldn't have taken it any further, just so we could prepare ourselves a bit

onefootinthebed · 18/05/2015 18:52

Lilliana I don't know really this was information offered I didn't ask what it meant just that it was the measurement that was taken at the back of the neck for the Down's syndrome test. I might have a Google later.

PooSweats84 · 18/05/2015 18:56

We need to maybe get a list done, or is there already one knocking about somewhere, I can't remember! I'm 15+2 now, got my 16 week appointment with the midwife next week. Had a consultants appointment today because of previous c-sec, and whilst she was checking over my blood results, the nurse asked if I wanted to hop up on the bed and see if we could find the heartbeat! Smile

Blimey, what is up with MN today?! Confused

GuybrushThreepwoodMP · 18/05/2015 19:19

It is the combined test which gives you a risk factor for Downs Syndrome and other chromosomal abnormalities. The fluid in the back of the neck is measured and combined with your age and the results of a blood test to give a risk factor. A risk of anything higher than 1 in 150 is considered high and would be offered further (invasive) testing.
A high nuchal fold measurement (above 3.5mm) is often associated with various abnormalities. However plenty of babies can have a higher measurement and be perfectly fine. From what I've read, the higher the measurement, the greater the risk and babies diagnosed with Downs often measure at more than 6 or 7mm.

onefootinthebed · 18/05/2015 19:26

There you go lallani, I don't need to google it,thanks guy.
