Another thread for the lovely ladies who are pregnant after miscarriage :)

Evening all. Again I am popping in for reassurance / advice.

Today I've been getting period type pain mainly in my tummy but now heading around my back. I'm so scared. I had this after 4 days spotting before my miscarriage in November. I'm 9+6 and no spotting, yet.

Gr33dy ive had lots and lots of period pains. Still getting them now. Its probably things growing and stretching :)

We're going to book a gender scan for reassurance.
I'll be 16 weeks Saturday so going to ring tomorrow and see when they can do.
*whispers - I think i can feel baby moving... not sure if it's all in my head but something has been happening in there non stop tonight. Baby is having a party if it's them.

I don't have a date yet sunbathing only booking in in a fortnight with the teaching hospital. Local midwife flat out refused reassurance scan. I'm off Thursday so might try my gp 2moro and see if they would refer me to epu.
Thanks ladies.

Lovely to see you here metal - big congrats.

Fifi & metal I had a private scan at 9 weeks. It really broke up the long wait from the BFP to the 12 week scan and provided some very welcome reassurance. The time before I'd miscarried at 7 and a half weeks ish so it helped to get past that point and to a point where the stats really drop off in terms of mc if you see a heart beat on the scan.

Gr33dy so sorry you're uncomfortably and scared. As others have said I also had some crampy type pains such was actually stuff just stretching and growing - but that combined with a bit of brown cm and my past mc made the first trimester very scary. But it was all fine - the waiting till the 9 week, then the 12week scan was a bitch though. This thread got me through - and hopefully the same will happen for you. Hope you can get some rest and maybe a reassurance scan (some areas will scan if you've experienced pain).

I'm now 30+3 and being regularly kicked by a growing boy who has no idea how much I've fretted, stressed and prayed over him. Time does pass and it all can go well even though it can feel so precarious and uncertain!

happygojo · 31/03/2015 21:38

Hi greedy I have had lots of pains of varying types during this preg so far, try not to worry (impossible I know), I have been in agony on and off over the past few days with trapped wind. I am hoping it is starting to 'ahem' ease now.

Another scan tomorrow, I hope baby cooperates xxx

fififolle · 31/03/2015 22:21

Thanks York the rookies, I think that I will go for the private scan. My next dilema is whether to take DS (4.5) with me. I can arm him with an iPad and headphones. I hate not being with him when he's got his school holidays.
Gr33dy stretching pulling and crampy pains are normal and are a sign of everything stretching and growing. Try to relax, maybe warm bath and rubbish magazine. You'll be in your 2nd trimester before you know it. Xx

I have also had lots of pains all the way through the pregnancy, including now. I would always worry about them at first but now find them an annoyance.

Fififolle we took dd to our private scan and it was absolutely fine, it's not like the nhs ones where they might get a bit funny about it and it didn't take too long. I guess the only thing to consider would be the unlikely event that it wasn't the best news, but assuming your oh would be there?

Treaclepie19 · 01/04/2015 09:41

Hope you are able to be referred gr33dy :)

I've just booked a gender scan for the 13th April when ill be 17+2. I feel so much better knowing we will have a bit of reassurance (hopefully) before the nhs scan.

That's good to hear sunbathing :)
I had a dream last night about giving birth to a baby boy. Odd since I've been convinced baby is a girl :p

OP posts:
happygojo · 01/04/2015 10:31

And the verdict is..... GIRL! (with the usual caveats about how it could be a very shy boy and not always correct etc etc)

She (feels weird to put that) has a head and a brain and they are all measuring about right.

Treacle 13th isn't too long to wait and I was pretty sure I was having a girl before my scan, so maybe your dream is your subconscious telling you something?

Gr33dy hope you are feeling better today... big hugs xxx

Metalhead · 01/04/2015 10:51

Ahh, lovely news happy, glad everything's looking ok!

Hope you're ok too greedy, like others have said cramping is pretty normal, though knowing that doesn't stop you from worrying, does it?!

I'm a bit freaked out by my lack of sore boobs, even though I know it's still so early at 12dpo. So despite my better judgement I poas again, and thankfully the line looks darker than Monday's. I promise to step away from the pee sticks now (at least for a couple of days Blush)...

Treaclepie19 · 01/04/2015 10:57

Fantastic happy :)
Glad all is well!

Metal I was completely freaked out by my lack of symptoms at the start of this pregnancy however a few weeks later I was really feeling dodgy. With the mc I had sore boobs straight away.
Sunbathing was very good at reassuring me as well as she has had few symptoms early on in her pregnancy.

OP posts:
Thepurplegiraffe · 01/04/2015 11:06

Great news Happy and congratulations on your little girl.

Metal I have never really had sore boobs, it's not something that everyone gets so I wouldn't worry too much. A darker line at this point is probably the best sign you can get!

Littlelady33 · 01/04/2015 11:19

Congrats happy! Metal I didn't feel a think until 7wks then suddenly it felt as though every symptom at once hit me like a freight train. Boobs almost too sore to walk (although not everyone gets that), sickness all day, indigestion from hell... The symptoms will take a while if they are coming. But also remember that there are women who barely experience any of the above and are just fine. I've two friends who had healthy pregnancies and babies and were in the 'barely notice I'm pregnant' camp

happygojo · 01/04/2015 11:39

Metal I never really had sore boobs with this preg but did with MC preg, it doesn't seem to mean anything to be honest. I think my boobs did their growing with MC preg and then because I fell again so quickly they didn't see the need.

That said I had the worlds itchiest nipples from about 8 weeks, seriously felt like they were on fire! mainly in the evenings. That has eased now too.

Step away from the sticks....they will tell you nothing more now Smile

Mslad · 01/04/2015 13:03

metal another one who never got sore boobs with this pregnancy, but did with mc. With this pregnancy my boobs have not grown at all! They're still an A cup- is that really weird?? (The one pregnancy symptom I really wanted was big boobs Sad

Mslad · 01/04/2015 13:04

Oh and huge congrats happy wonderful news! Enjoy your post scan peace of mind Smile

Metalhead · 01/04/2015 13:08

Thanks for the reassurance ladies, I guess if it wasn't the boobs I'd be worrying about something else! Just seems odd as they were quite sore with both my previous pregnancies from quite early on.

CommanderShepard · 01/04/2015 14:16

Mine don't really grow in pregnancy either - they just sort of get firmer thank god, since they are an F cup I fear they will be like marbles in socks after this baby.

Metal I know what you mean - with DD I had to go out at lunch and buy a non-wired bra and that was my first sign before I even got a positive test. This time and the miscarriage there was nothing, until about 11 weeks this time when everything got v sensitive.

Hi ladies. I saw my GP who has arranged a scan for Tuesday. Can I just sleep until then?!

thesmallbear · 01/04/2015 17:25

I'm jealous of those of you who's boobs haven't grown. Mine have gone up three cup sizes and hurt my back. I hate them. I also have rib pain, which I'm sure is to do with my heavy boobs resting on my ribs. I can't understand why you'd pay to have them this big - they bloody hurt! Still I'll put up with anything as long as I get a healthy bean at the end of it all.

Congrats Metal, I remember you from the TTC after an MC thread.

Gr33dy - I'm another one who gets 'period' pains from time to time. I had them today actually. I know it's worrying after an MC though, especially early on Flowers

I had a 4D bonding scan at the weekend. It was brilliant, I would highly recommend. She was asleep at the beginning and looked all cozy and snug. Then she yawned and woke up. Got an ace picture of her yawning Smile It was also reassuring to hear the heartbeat again and to know that she is measuring correctly for her dates. 26 + 6.
