HELLO!!! not been on much as I have been busy. 23 weeks today and I keep 'forgetting' I am pregnant.... Then bean kicks me and I remember. Also bean had hiccups this morning, so cute!

Looking forward to 24 weeks, just feels like a big milestone. I have another cervical length scan then too so hopefully I should see part of bubs..... That said.... Next Monday is also my first due date.... I am hoping I will be quite distracted by this pregnancy though and that the day will pass quickly

Mslad · 13/04/2015 11:01

Hello all!

Welcome Fergie and succeed congratulations on your bfp. 2 mc's must be incredibly hard to deal with. the first trimester is such a challenge post mc, but we're all here to handhold. Whether to have an early scan is a tough call, I wasn't going to, but my mw encouraged me to as I was so detached from the pregnancy. I had it after 9 weeks, so it did help a little bit by that stage. Although sometimes just taking a weekend off from pregnancy (I banned myself from thinking about it, talking about it etc) really helped too.

commander that must be awful for you, but from what I know, the chances are it's nothing to worry about- you could just have a short baby? (mine is almost off the chart in long femur, which seems to be just random, so why not the other end?), your ds results/odds are really great, so hopefully your visit to the fmc will put your mind at ease.

Good luck this evening treacle hope everyone else is doing well. A new week...another week closer Smile

cavamonster · 13/04/2015 11:51

I agree with treacle Commander, just explain to your boss I'm sure anybody would understand you don't need the extra stress.

Fingers crossed they come back with your next scan soon and everything shows fine on the better machines.

CommanderShepard · 13/04/2015 12:00

thanks treacle and mslad - I kept trying to say that it's probably significant that I'm 5'1" and DH is 5'10/11", and he in particular has stumpy little legs; he is actually a human weeble. Mine are actually pretty long for my height but if Erwin is anything like DD I make little female DHs. He did point this out as soon as I came home in tears but it's so hard not to scare myself witless especially as they really weren't reassuring about it. Appointment with FMU is Thursday so at least not long to wait. Typically it's the day I'm supposed to be going to London but Boss and Client were both so lovely about it and I feel a bit better. One of my colleagues also was telling me that at one scan he found out his DD would have a cleft palate but they had no idea how extensive it would be and he was in bits all the way up until she was born.

I was thinking to myself this morning "when is it that you get to relax and stop worrying?" and then answered it immediately with what I already know: never. You never stop worrying about them...

Welcome to the new ladies! As you can see, there's lots of support here Flowers The first trimester is so, so long when you've had a loss previously, but we get through it together.

Mslad · 13/04/2015 12:15

commander it sounds to me like this little one is just taking after their dad with short legs! The songorapher is probably being over overcautious. Again, I know I'm the opposite example, but dp has almost freakishly long legs, so i'm presuming baby is just taking after him. That's great your boss was understanding. best to focus on you on Thursday if you're going to be stressed. The things you worry about while pregnant feel so out of your control, doesn't it? though I suspect if some Ladies might come along and tell me that it's much worse once dc are actually here Smile

Thank you sunbathing :)
Sorry you're feeling so unwell sunbathing, I hope you're able to get some relief from it.

Evening all. I hope time passes quickly to the next scan commander.

Look in forward to hearing about the scan treacle.

I am booked in now with the teaching hospital where I work but ironically have been bumped back to local mw care as low risk, so my theory about being easier is out the window! Scan booked for next Wednesday. I'm beginning to get a little excited now....

Boozle80 · 13/04/2015 19:40

Really good luck this evening Treacle

Treaclepie19 · 13/04/2015 19:47

Thank you all x

It's a boy! :) A very awkward little boy who was so far down and curled up that she really struggled!
He was right down past my pants :/

Still, with some wriggling and coughing from me we managed to see :)

Glad it went well Treacle - now you can start thinking names!

How long to go Sunbathing? Hope some of the icky symptoms shift - I have vague memories that things change later on as the baby moves down. Doesn't necessarily mean less symptoms, but a change!

StarsInTheNightSky · 13/04/2015 20:09

Hi all, can I join please? I have been on this thread several times previously and found it an enormous liferaft, last pregnancy resulted in our healthy (but currently huge ds). Got a bfp last week but have been in denial as it is very unexpected (we weren't trying and I was on the pill, which I took religiously, it just failed, so I'm one of the 0.28% or whatever it is, and ds is only 11 months old).
Still, DH and I are very happy, we didn't think we'd be able to have any more bio children and were thinking about adoption when ds was a bit older, I'm just terrified all over again. Many previous mc's and mmc's. I've just realised that I'm still on the stats list as thread babies too!
Sorry I'm rambling.

Sounds like she's trying to make herself comfy and you uncomfy Sunbathing - hope she decides to shift into something that's more comfy for you (and preferably not breech if you're not heading for a c-section for other reasons, unless you want one). I'm sure 8 weeks will both fly and drag - do you still have much to organise or are you ready to go?

Welcome back Stars - you can be newbie and old timer all at once :)

StarsInTheNightSky · 13/04/2015 21:02

Thank you Sunbathing and Stick. I'm so worried, had a horrendous pregnancy with ds, hyperemesis ask the way through (in and out of hospital for that), blood clots, puppps, threatened miscarriage, threatened early labour (from 18 weeks, ds came at 35 weeks) in hospital every week for several days for consultant led monitoring, high blood pressure, cardiac issues. We have moved abroad now, and the healthcare is much better here, but we live in an extremely remote area. Ah well, guess I'll always find something to worry about, I'm going to try to calm down instead!

Haha definitely Sunbathing!
DH has decided Axl is too much because it gives an adult a bit of a stereotype :p

Also, I think I can feel baby...
If it is him though he's having one hell of a party.

Yay treacle! So pleased all was well and you've discovered little bubs is of the blue brigade Smile How exciting!!

Treaclepie19 · 13/04/2015 22:23

I've felt something a few times before sunbathing, but it was higher up.
This is in exactly the place he was at the scan.
I'm not sure though, it's like butterflies or a nervous tummy. Very fast though and been going on for over an hour so I'm not sure.

My pulse is quite hard there too so it's making it difficult to tell.
