Another thread for the lovely ladies who are pregnant after miscarriage :)

My 16 week was about 20 mins and she did all the usuals. She didn't measure my belly (there was only flab anyway at that point). She offered to listen to the hb. She also talked me through my blood results and my GTT. I was then booked in for my 24 week. Hope you're goes well treacle

Treaclepie19 · 08/04/2015 08:28

Thank you all :)
It's at half 9, I'll update when I get back.

treacle Mine was the same as happy's, with the added 'oh shit they've lost your bloods, let's do the quad test now and send it off while they still feel bad about it'.

Congrats missmakes, and you got your HBAC! Really chuffed for you :)

I have started being sick in the morning again which is all kinds of unacceptable at 17 friffing weeks! Getting a bit worried now about the fact that I've got a persistent headache but don't know whether to bother the GP. It's really too early for pre-eclampsia (which is what I am pooing myself about this time around - ah, ignorance was bliss last time) but I'm starting to get really bothered especially as if I drink enough fluids I chuck them back up again.

I don't have another appointment with the midwife now until 28 weeks! Which makes me wonder how I'm supposed to get my MATB1... supposed to be seeing the consultant somewhere around 20 weeks too, in which I shall demand my VBAC with no CFM. Ideally I'd go to the MLU (5 floors up from the CLU) but I can't see them letting me do that especially if I get the dreaded pre-e, but then if I do get it again then MLU doesn't bother me at all. We shall see, we shall see... rang the Birth Afterthoughts service to see if I can get my notes from DD and talk it through with a midwife.

Treaclepie19 · 08/04/2015 08:52

Oh no commander! How do they lose your blood???

I've got bad headaches too, its probably not reassuring but just as we're due at a similar time.
I have the innocence of being a ftm though.

Sorry your sickness has come back :( I think mine might be too.

I get random days where I feel like I regress to the 1st trimester with nausea and a headache.... Probably all part of the miracle

SuzyBean · 08/04/2015 09:20

Congrats missmakes and welcome to the newbies. Good luck to anyone with scans coming up.

Well after what feels like the longest pregnancy ever I seem to be near the top of the stats list. Eek. My due date is Sunday but I think he's quite comfy in there and may stay in a bit longer. I still can't quite believe that we'll have a baby with us in a couple of weeks!

StickChildNumberTwo · 08/04/2015 09:43

I don't think I should be allowed to drive when pregnant - nearly reversed into the new neighbours this morning.... Am off for booking appt in a bit which means negotiating the hospital car park (who thought putting a GP surgery in the grounds of a hospital was a good idea?!) so that will be fun. Can't quite believe I've got as far as booking, it still all feels very surreal.

Suzy hope you manage to relax for the last however long of your pregnancy, and have a straightforward birth. Are you all organised with plans of how you want it to go, or just going to take it as it comes?

Treaclepie19 · 08/04/2015 10:20

Midwife appointment was a waste of time.
She did my blood pressure, checked iron e and rang about my blood results.
Any worries I'd got she said to see the doctor with.

Oh well. Good job I didn't expect much!

I know! Somewhere between the treatment room and the lab the phial went walkies. I suppose that given the size of the hospital it's going to happen to someone (although I have amusing visions of "Congratulations Mr Smith, you're pregnant! And your baby probably doesn't have Downs! Bad news is we don't know how your liver is doing..." Grin)

Treaclepie19 · 08/04/2015 10:29

Hehe commander, that could definitely cause some confusion!!! :p

Sorry your MW appointment was disappointing. It seems to be a massive postcode lottery. I recently moved to a village so luckily I get to see the same MW (unless she is sick or on leave) and get a full 20 mins for my appointment. Where I used to live my friend was literally 5 mins in and out and never saw the same MW twice! Ah well there is no cause for concern. Do you have private scan booked soon treacle?

I think I've been amazingly lucky with my midwife - to the extent we're going to meet up after the baby is here for a glass of wine to celebrate! She has all the time in the world and couldn't be more helpful - again, it's the advantage of living in a small village I think!

broodylicious · 08/04/2015 11:24

Boo to rubbish mw treacle. My last one was pants but this one, even though she's young and has no babies of her own, she seems ok. Defo postcode lottery!!

commander, I'm 25 weeks and afraid to say I still have sickness and major nausea. V annoying because it tends to come on really quickly and generally always in the afternoon and evening so I can't do much with dd after lunch in case I need to dash to vom! Part and parcel of this crazy ride called pregnancy for me.

Yeah, Its a shame because she seems lovely but so rushed.
I have a private scan on Monday, so glad I booked it now :)

Sorry so many of you have rubbish midwives :(
The student midwife that was with my midwife last time was much better but I suppose she has less of a time constraint.

StickChildNumberTwo · 08/04/2015 12:27

Well my booking appt was uneventful. Glad that all the info from last time was on the system so didn't have to do all the dull family history stuff again (like how should I know whether my mother-in-law had problems in any of her pregnancies?!). Interestingly the midwife I got was one that one of my friends can't stand, but she was fine, and I'll've changed to a different team (due to moving house) well before the birth so I think I'll probably only see her once more.

Still can't quite believe I've got this far, definitely not sure there'll actually be a baby at the end.

Littlelady33 · 08/04/2015 13:48

Bizarrely and annoyingly my sickness is also back at 24+4. My mother was sick through to 40wks with us though so I should be grateful for the odd respite! I'm also in general panic mode about all sorts. Firstly I'm not putting any bloody weight on. Getting bigger but not much scales movement these past couple of weeks. Secondly after kicking me constantly the whole Easter break baby has now gone quiet and hardly moved as far as I can feel in 24hours... That's not uncommon at this stage right?? (Steps away from Dr Google of Doom)

broodylicious · 08/04/2015 15:11

Totally normal little. My little tike has very very active days then others when s/he only has a few kicks first thing in the morning and in the middle of the night. So hard not to panic though isn't it?

fififolle · 08/04/2015 16:16

Gr33dy great news about your scan. It's a shame that they were running late so your DH couldn't see it. Don't worry about your age- I've got 3yrs on you! I've asked the midwives a couple of times and they've said not to worry about my age so you're fine. We're in a similar situation, it took me a while to persuade my DH to try for #2, we have one DS who is 5 next week.

Thepurplegiraffe · 08/04/2015 16:22

I am 36 and my mw told me that is average in my area so not sure any of us need to worry about age. How are you doing Fifi, hope things have still settled.

I had my vbac clinic this morning which was basically a 20 minute group session telling us how great vbacs and how awful c-sections are. I wasn't expecting much else but I am still just as confused as ever.

Another one with continuing nausea here at 26 weeks, I am not throwing up as often but that is largely because I am not risking the wrong foods which seems to be most proper meals.

thesmallbear · 08/04/2015 17:10

Right, I have permission from Missmakesstuff and Littlemissy to update their stats. I will do another update shortly.

Does anyone else want adding. fififolle? StickChildNumberTwo?

StickChildNumberTwo · 08/04/2015 17:12

Thanks bear - I think I'm avoiding stats until post-scan when I actually believe this might happen....
