Another thread for the lovely ladies who are pregnant after miscarriage :)

It's never considered normal but it is very common - I had brown spotting with this pregnancy all the way from 5 - 9 weeks. How rude of her! I hope your home epu is a lot better Flowers

fififolle · 05/04/2015 10:01

Thank you everyone. I'll let you know how I get on when I speak to my EPU. Easter Smile

Littlelady33 · 05/04/2015 11:07

Fifi I'm so sorry that you've met with such an insensitive response. As many have echoed here it really is far from a done deal and so many of us have had brown spotting and healthy pregnancies. Thinking of you and hoping you find a more sympathetic and helpful response soon

fifi - I had brown spotting on and off until 12 weeks. I'm 27 weeks now and the baby is fine. It's far from a done deal. It sounds like you got through to some dickhead receptionist, rather than a medically trained person. EPU gave me scans at 6 and 10 weeks for reassurance. At six weeks we got a heartbeat and at 10 weeks the bean was waving at us. I hope you get some similar reassurance Flowers

StickChildNumberTwo · 05/04/2015 14:22

fifi my experience of phoning our EPU at a weekend was that it was just someone on the usual gynae ward who answered the phone and was no use whatsoever. They say they'll take calls even when they're not officially open but it seems like unless you might possibly have an ectopic or something else that's a proper emergency they won't actually even have a proper conversation with you. So it may be that's what you got, hence the utter unhelpfulness :( Definitely worth trying again tomorrow although if they're shut for the bank holiday you might not get any sense out of anyone till Tuesday because clearly no-one ever needs medical care on a bank holiday

Glad lots of people have reassuring experiences to share, but hope you can get some medical reassurance soon too.

thesmallbear · 05/04/2015 22:06

Actually fifi EPU told me the opposite. That brown spotting wasn't anything too concerning, but they scanned me for reassurance anyway.

fififolle · 05/04/2015 22:31

You've hit the nail on the head stick. It does seem crazy how things grind to a halt over the weekend.

So pleased to announce the arrival of DD at 8:27 am on Easter Sunday Smile She ended up 11 days over ( quite the shock as DS was 2 weeks early) and is a lovely chunky 9 lb. No name yet as we were convinced she would be DS2 called Sebastian- despite not finding out the sex!! What a wonderful bank holiday! Hope everyone else is enjoying the rest and extra love to those who are in the midst of testing times xxx

northdownmummy · 06/04/2015 07:12

Congratulations florence a much nicer Easter arrival than a bunny bearing chocolate

Phryn · 06/04/2015 07:20

Wonderful news Florence - welcome to the world to your lovely DD!

fififolle · 06/04/2015 07:33

Congratulations Florence what wonderful news xx

cavamonster · 06/04/2015 07:38

Congratulations Florence a lovely Easter arrival for you.

Thepurplegiraffe · 06/04/2015 07:43

Congratulations Florence what a lovely day to arrive.

Good news here is I have had no more bleeding and a reasonable amount of movement, though I would have liked more, so I am feeling reassured.

How are you today Fifi? Hope you can get some sense out of someone at your epu.

Metalhead · 06/04/2015 07:43

Many congratulations florence, wonderful news!

fifi I hope your spotting has settled down and you can get some more reassuring advice from your EPU at home tomorrow.

thesmallbear · 06/04/2015 08:15

Congratulations Florence Easter Grin Time for another stats update then.

Are there any updates from Missmakesstuff, Ilovechops and Littlemissy12345?

Would anyone like to be added? Metal? Is there anything that anyone would like changed?

thesmallbear · 06/04/2015 08:20

Gr33dy - would you like to be added to the stats? Sorry, if I've missed anyone. Give me a shout Easter Smile

Gr33dyeggs · 06/04/2015 09:04

If its a positive scan tomorrow smallbear then yes! Should know by 11. Quite scared but at least OH can come now, so if it's bad news I'm not alone and if its good we might start feeling more attachment.
Congrats to Florence on your surprise dd!

StickChildNumberTwo · 06/04/2015 09:07

Congratulations Florence - I very much approve of girls who arrive 11 days late weighting 9lb (well 9lb 1oz in my not so small one's case). Hope you're loved up and enjoying the baby snuffles.

Glad things are looking OK giraffe.

CommanderShepard · 06/04/2015 09:10

On the subject of stats, please could I be moved to 14th September? Ta!

Metalhead · 06/04/2015 09:20

Thanks smallbear, I know I'm still ridiculously early but I've decided to think positive! So here are my stats:

Metalhead 1 DD, 1 MMC in Feb '14, EDD 11 December '15

That's my nieces birthday metal :)

I've realised this morning how over protective I'm being in this pregnancy.
DH has taken over all the hoovering aleafy and now is taking over lawnmower duties.
I really should be doing both to keep active but I am irrational! Also, he would rather do it than see me in pain with my ligaments after.

I do feel I've made myself seem a bit precious though :/
