We didn't with the first but tempted with no 2 (more for practical reasons eg clearing the loft of all the millions of boys clothes!). Just wondered if you did and were you pleased you found out?

I think that's because people don't like saying sex out loud!

IShallCallYouSquishy · 25/02/2015 14:26

No. Not for either.

I sort of wanted to with DC1 but DH really didn't so as he felt strongly and I was a bit ambivalent, we went with not.

For DC2 we never even discussed it. We both knew we didn't want to know and for all of our (numerous) scans we made sure we said to let us know when they head down there so we can look away as we didn't want to see.

Turns out we had DD followed by DS

Nocturne123 · 25/02/2015 14:27

I'm horribly impatient so found out for both.

Choccywoccydodah · 25/02/2015 17:32

I wanted to know first time but dh didn't so we didnt, but this time we will be :)

Sparklingbrook · 25/02/2015 17:36

Well sex or gender it's not hard to understand what the OP meant. We found out both times, we are practical types. Grin

TreadSoftlyOnMyDreams · 25/02/2015 17:37

Found out both times but both times was paranoid that there might have been a mistake so no clothes were given away. I did get rid of very obviously out of season clothes for newborns though.

Strokethefurrywall · 25/02/2015 17:52

Didn't find out for our first, but did for our second and wish we hadn't honestly.

If we were to ever have a third, I wouldn't find out.

GingerPhoenix · 25/02/2015 17:57

Yes, they said boy but we had a girl.

Luciferbox · 25/02/2015 18:01

We didn't for DS but DC2 20wk scan is 2 wks away and I'm tempted. Like you said, It seems more practical. I can prepare DS and it will help us narrow down possible names as we can't think of any girl names we agree on. Part of me wants a surprise again but it makes more sense to find out this time.

Postchildrenpregranny · 25/02/2015 18:05

No
Had a girl first and didn't buy much 'girly' stuff. (got given a bit ) Was pretty much bright colours and gender neutral, which I prefer anyway Dresses arent practical once they crawl . As it happens had another girl . We did have a bit more pink second time round..
Have kept a lot of in-good-condition clothes (especially stuff I have photos of them wearing)-will be lending to friend whose son and partner are abroad and expecting PFB . Will be useful when they visit to have a stash here . Baby gros don't change much in 28 years..

AriaBanjo · 25/02/2015 18:08

We did with first (dd), didn't with second (Ds) and did with third (dd) - mainly for practical reasons with which set of clothes to keep and bedroom arrangements etc

HazleNutt · 25/02/2015 18:24

Each to her own - even though I'm a woman, as I drive a car and incidentally, work with planes, I don't have any issues putting clothes with either of them on my DD either. Smile
