Just moaning really. I'm fed up of being pregnant now!

I had to wake DP up at 2am to help me get out of bed so I could go to the toilet. My thighs and joints feel bruised and like my muscles are splitting.. midwife says its because my body has done this before so it isn't as stretchy. Well I don't like it!

And if I wake up one more time with heartburn and acid reflux so bad I think I'm choking.. grr Angry

This baby is so worth it, but I'm so tired and sore, and the thought of going overdue is making me miserable!

Anyone else want a moan?!

He dropped his nap for a while but he will have a hour most days but not without a fight and a bribe of playdough/painting/etc in the afternoon. He does still need it, & I need a hours peace! He is a right chatterbox.

We are trying to potty train but he is not bothered, only wants to sit on the toilet when I'm on it Hmm plus the doctor has now prescribed him Movicol for constipation. I don't know whether I'm coming or going as he also has a slight foreskin infection that needs to be kept clean & dry. Do I put him in nappies for the poo's or pants to keep the wee away?! Hard work this parenting stuff Grin so this is all making me extra tired.

How old is your DS Sycamore? (Sorry if you've already said and I've missed it)

My ds is 3. He gets constipated too as he doesn't like pooing on the toilet so he will hold it in. Fine with wees. I found potty training really hard , he took forever ! Nursery staff tell me that boys can be really lazy with it. I was hoping poos would be sorted before baby arrives but that is looking unlikely. We have a reward chart now. How old is your ds? Sounds like mine, loves play doh, painting etc ..

Sycamore76 · 24/02/2015 12:41

Sorry forgot to say , could you try pull ups given he has an infection ? And lots of sudocream maybe ?

cosmicglittergirl · 24/02/2015 14:43

Feeling very glad my DD (17m) is not at the potty training stage, I would not have the energy for it. I'm very lucky she still has a two hour nap which I guard obsessively (MIL is blasé about naps?!). But cbeebies has been my friend recently as going over to the park or a toddler group is too much.
Interesting that a few toddlers have constipation, DD has it at the moment and is on the lactulose. It's not making for very pleasant afternoons.

Fingers crossed baby can breast feed babies , hopefully that will go smoothly.

I had a bit of plug come away last night , nothing during the night but lots of leg pain so not much sleep again ( even with paracetamol ) . Starting to think I will be exhausted for labour .

shelley1977 · 25/02/2015 08:46

I'm getting worried about managing labour due to lack of sleep and I struggle to eat anything. I know its what our body is designed to do and I've done it 5 times before but this is first time since becoming unwell and with the added other problems I just hoping to be able to give birth with so little energy Sad

Sycamore76 · 25/02/2015 09:21

Poor you Shelley. Must be hard not being able to eat as you need the energy . I am going to buy some energy drinks and snacks today to help with early labour. Unfortunately I can still eat ! I crave sugar to get me through the day , bit scared to weigh myself now .....

Sycamore76 · 25/02/2015 09:21

Can you drink lucosade ???

Sycamore76 · 25/02/2015 09:23

Sorry lucozade

shelley1977 · 25/02/2015 09:47

I can't drink anything like that Sad I have been drinking milk this week and it seems to sit well in my stomach. I'm just so looking forward to wanting to eat something, anything once baby is here. Don't want to have to continue like this while breast feeding.

Sycamore76 · 25/02/2015 10:03

I am sure you will be fine once baby is here. Maybe the baby hasn't dropped very low so not much room in your tummy. I am getting lots of period type pain ( quite mild ) . To you think that's a sign?

cosmicglittergirl · 25/02/2015 10:25

The sleep thing is so baffling, why does nature do it. I didn't sleep either last night then same, worry about having energy to give birth. I can't remember if this happened last time.
Period pain is a sign your body is getting ready but can go on for a while. I've had it for about three weeks. I think combined with the plug, show, B Hixs/Hicks (?) it all adds up to your body gearing up.
Yes, hope BFing goes well Babie have you a clinic or BF counsellor near you? I was thinking that I assumed it would go well as I did it last time, but I did find it difficult and painful. It took three weeks to properly get the hang of it. Hopefully no problems this time.

yougotafastcar · 25/02/2015 10:45

Sorry everyone is feeling tired this morning. Any chance you could sneak a nap in today shelley?

Heartburn had me up again, I was stupidly angry about it at 2am! Seeing the midwife later and I know baby isn't even engaged yet Sad

I failed miserably at breastfeeding DS last time, so am really worried about it this time. I only lasted 3 days as the pain was so bad, and the hospital wouldn't let me go home until I had feeding sorted. Hopefully everyone who wants to breastfeed will be successful this time.

Strange question considering I'm 37 weeks, but what do braxton hicks feel like? I never had any with DS and this time I've had loads of pains since 20 something weeks that I would describe as strong period cramps, but not sure of they are them?

Sounds like something might be starting soon Sycamore! Fingers crossed for you

Hi guys, can join too please?
I'm 36+1 and dying for the baby to come out now. I'm so uncomfortable and achy and getting to the floor to change my dd's nappy is a mission in itself!

Yes, sleep is a nightmare! Totally empathise with everyone. I spend ages trying to get to sleep whilst feeling heartburny and uncomfortable. Only to wake up about 3 times during the night with either heartburn, a wee or both. Sad
And if I need to lay on my other side its like gearing up for an expedition! I then resemble a beached whale flipping and flopping everywhere!

Oh plus If lay down on the sofa with Dp in the evening for a cuddle I get stuck!

cosmicglittergirl · 25/02/2015 10:59

My hicks are like a low down period pain combined with a tightening of the stomach, they've always been quite painful but I know some people get painless ones.

I know someone who couldn't Bf first time due to pain and having enough milk but was fine the second time around. I think it can just depend and it's not always as easy as it looks.

Do you know if your baby is head down yougo? I read second babies don't always engage until labour starts.

cosmicglittergirl · 25/02/2015 10:59

*not having enough

shelley1977 · 25/02/2015 11:14

I tried breast feeding with 1st and 3rd child. managed a week but the was no support and I was in abusive relationship. with babies 4 & 5 I wasn't letting anything stop me and even tandem fed. I had 10 bouts of mastitis over 4 years so it wasn't great and doctors seemed to know very little. There is more support these days with councillors and other specialists. The first few weeks the hardest , I felt like they were attached 24/7 but it was all worth it for me.

shelley1977 · 25/02/2015 11:16

should of added I had a lot of pain with first attempt at bf due to bad latch but no one was there to help me fix it which is why I didn't try with 2nd baby at all

yougotafastcar · 25/02/2015 11:47

Ahh thanks for the reassurance about breastfeeding. Apparently he had a "beautiful latch" and they couldn't see why it was hurting but I was cracked and bleeding and sobbing when I knew I had to feed him.

cosmic my hicks sound similar to yours, must be that then! They make me want to sit down where ever I am even if that be on a shop floor and I feel like I'm having a hot flush at the same time. She is head down, has been since about 33 weeks but she still feels quite high. Do you know what position yours is in?

Hi yazz. That beached whale thing is so true Grin do you know what you're having?

yazz21 · 25/02/2015 12:51

Another girl, which is handy because we kept all dd1's old clothes just incase Smile

Sorry if you've already said but do you or anyonelse know what you're having?

shelley1977 · 25/02/2015 14:03

Im having my 4th boy, since its definitely my last im quite happy 2 girls are hard enough workSmile
The problem with latch is it could look fine but pain and cracked bleeding nipples suggests otherwise. I hope you find success this time, there is some amazing support out there now, ive joined facebook group that is very supportive and there is lots of advice.

cosmicglittergirl · 25/02/2015 14:23

Yougo baby is head down (but back to back, groan) and engaged but she's been engaged for about five weeks so I'm not convinced it means anything! Just means frequent trips to the loo.
My latch looked ok too, but I was left with terrible lipstick nip so I knew it wasn't ok.

yougotafastcar · 25/02/2015 15:59

Back from midwives, baby isn't engaged and even the midwife said "you're joking!" When I told her baby measured 6lb 12oz at my 36 week growth scan. Bright side is I have a sweep booked for the 11th if I want it.
