Thanks for the reassurance ladies - you really are the best bunch Smile dh said the same re nhs guidance and tonic water so said not to worry too much because it'd be on the blacklist if it was horrendously dangerous.

Not sure if it helped with keeping my stretch marks to a minimum but I used the mum to be range from the sanctuary at boots. It smells delish and they do a wash, oil and cream so you can smell it all day long. I think stretch marks are generally genetic but I agree, it's nice to feel as though I'm doing something to prevent them and this was a yummy way of doing it last time. Will treat myself to more I think.

CommanderShepard · 23/02/2015 13:35

Good point, treacle - not had mine yet either. Going to ring the ultrasound department tomorrow if nothing comes through the post today.

Treaclepie19 · 23/02/2015 16:11

I rang them about my scan, no appointment booked. They said to ring friday if ive still not heard anything.

Looking after my friends 6 month old on Wednesday, i have an irrational fear of hurting my baby from carrying him/things.
I know that's not the case or people couldn't be pregnant with a child. Turns out I'm just absolutely crazy! :p

Hi all, just to let you know that I have just heard the heartbeat! 16 weeks today and the midwife had a listen. So happy. Managed to record it for my other half! So happy! I know it is really hit and miss at 16 weeks to hear it so feel really lucky. It feels like a big milestone.... But I think every week is a big milestone!

Treaclepie19 · 23/02/2015 17:31

Hooray happy! That's great news :)

Yay! Hearing the heartbeat is lovely happy.

So in the end the midwife didn't think the sugar in my wee thing was such a big deal. I have 2+ counts of sugar (or something like that I think she said). If it's 3+ they test you for diabetes. They only test at 2+ if you're at high risk of diabetes e.g. high BMI or family history etc. However, they did say if I get a second episode of sugar they will do the diabetes test. I will admit to sucking on Chupa Chup lollipops, to try and get rid of the horrible taste in my mouth. Probably hasn't helped!

Treaclepie19 · 23/02/2015 18:28

Smallbear glad all is ok.

I'm going to start my bio oil soon. So nice of mil to buy it.

I really want some new perfume - love story by Chloe. It's so expensive though.
On one hand I deserve a treat...
On another, we need to save money for baby! :)

You may remember I told you about my work colleague who MC'd. The bleeding started on Thursday 12th with clotting. She had a scan the next day and her womb was empty. They keep doing her bloods every 48 hours and they say the HCG levels are going down but not as quickly as they would expect. She has refused to go in today as she's sick of them taking her blood.

Any ideas why they are jabbing her so often? It took me three weeks to get a negative pregnancy test after my MC, so why don't they just leave her alone for a bit? They can't be worried about retained tissue as they've scanned her and her womb is empty. Any ideas?

CommanderShepard · 23/02/2015 19:47

I'm so sorry to hear that. Could be that they've diagnosed pregnancy in unknown location and are trying to rule out ectopic - this is what happened to me, anyway.

gingerbreadmam · 23/02/2015 19:48

i have a question if anyone would be so kind to answer. i know i am being completely stupid but i had erpc 14 december and am now 6 weeks pregnant.

i dot have many major symptoms. what im wondering is that because there hasnt been much time between my pregnants do u think they just seem mild if that makes sense?

my boobs r a bit sensitive, last time they were really sore. got big dark nipples last time, not much change so far. had agonising bak pain last time, none this time. in a way i dont mind that the symptoms rnt the same but for about 65% of the day i just dont really feel pregnant and its worrying me.

Treaclepie19 · 23/02/2015 20:02

I was really worried about a lack of symptoms gingerbread and I still worry if they disappear.
Mine didn't really get worse until about 8 weeks but i know lots of people who haven't had many symptoms and all has been fine :)

thanks treacle. i keep telling myselt it is so early and i guess last time it wasnt until i was probs 7 weeks ish that i really felt stuff spose that is the bad thing about mmc u just never stop worrying.

half way till scan! got booking in apt next week im excited about, couldnt get it till a bit later last time and mw cancelled so got put back a week too by which point mmc had been discovered so tht is a bit of a milestone too.

thesmallbear · 23/02/2015 20:23

Commander - that's what we both thought, but they haven't actually said that to her. They really should explain why they're doing things. Surely if they think it's ectopic they need to get a wiggle on and do what ever they need to do. Isn't it dangerous if an ectopic stays there for too long without it being removed?

ginger - I'd echo what Treacle said - 6 weeks is still quite early for symptoms. Totally understand why you're worried though.

gingerbreadmam · 23/02/2015 20:26

thanks smallbear thats reassuring. u would think with the last pg so recent i would remember but i dont. i just know i had symptoms by the time mmc was discovered but tat was 9 wks.

longestlurkerever · 23/02/2015 20:45

ginger Just to echo what the others said. And symptoms vary anyway. I had backache with dd and mc1 but none in subsequent pregnancies including this one.

Afraid I am not using bio oil this time. Used it religiously with dd despite hating the slimy greasiness and it ruining my sheets and still got stretch marks.

I have the gtt on Thursday. Not looking forward to it! Anyone know how long it takes? It sounded like I could be there for hours.

gingerbreadmam · 23/02/2015 21:10

thanks longest all ur reassurance is making me feel much better.

I didn't really have symptoms at 20 weeks, I was only just starting with my food aversions which was my biggest symptom. It was 7-10 weeks that were hell for me. Don't worry you could be a lucky one and have no symptoms or the joys could be waiting just around the corner xxx

happygojo · 23/02/2015 22:27

I meant 6 weeks not 20 weeks.... My bf is reading his 'daddy book' and is telling me all about 20 weeks as I typed it.... I am only 16 weeks

Treaclepie19 · 23/02/2015 22:46

Good to hear about the food aversion happy, mines still going strong but im hoping it'll be back to normal soon. I never fancy anything.
