Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

28+5 today.
Too many days at work still to bother counting yet.
Good news is that the hospital were very nice about my lost notes and are preparing a duplicate set, which I was keen to have as we're off to New York next Thursday and I didn't want to go noteless!
DDs 4th birthday party at the weekend. Great weather so all very painless. Had a picnic outside and basically just left all the kids to run around while the grown-ups had a natter and a glass of wine
Toothache, my bump quite regularly goes hard and uncomfortable and stays that way for a bit. But it does ease off.

Toothache · 22/05/2004 14:47

Shall we have a roll call?

Me... Toothache.
Due 6th August 2004: Don't know the sex.

Everyone else?

Have dd, 4 at the end of this month.
This one's a boy, so perhpas yours and mine can get together SK. The first Mumsnet twins wedding?
Working to the bitter end if I can still stand it as I want the maternity leave (well the pay) afterwards.

sibble · 22/05/2004 23:43

due 11th Aug, scan says a boy, have DS 4 years old. Am meant to be working to 37 weeks when my work collegue who will be 27 weeks pregnant returns from a months holiday.

have been offered c/s at 38 weeks though - at the moment want to hold on - but who knows by then!!!!

spent nearly all w/e in bed with effects of anaemia and can't wait to get the iron pills from midwife today.

oliveoil · 24/05/2004 12:12

I am due August 18, already have dd aged nearly 19 months (am mad!!). DOn't know the sex but I am sure it is a boy.

Am going to try and work till the end of July, mainly to spend as much time as poss on maternity leave. Depends on how tired I get though.

Felt like I had been kicked up the arse (!) last night, aches and pains at the top of my legs. Got me out of doing the dishes anyway, dh took pity.

sweetkitty · 24/05/2004 14:03

hi all 29 weeks today!

Finding the commute into work starting to get a bit of a pain (bus-train-bus) leave the house at 7.25am to get in for 9 same on the way back. At least now my maternity trousers are staying up on there own also really tired at night now. I don't know how those of you already with toddlers cope I can't even get off the sofa in the evening.

thanks dino

yes my first one thats why I don't know how I would cope with this and a toddler. Still only 7 and a half weeks to go!

Toothache · 24/05/2004 16:42

SK - My commute to and from work was similar to yours. Leave the house at 6.45am then train/tube/bus to be in work for 8.30am. NIGHTMARE and something I attribute my bad health to in the middle part of my pregnancy.

My work have allowed me to work from a local office 5 miles from home. The only other alternative was going off on long term sick leave. You've got to look after yourself..... (mother toothache has spoken! )your work really should look into arranging someplace closer to home for you to work. Could you work from home?

As for coping with a toddler..... the only explanation I can think of is autopilot! But I must admit when I get home I make ds some dinner then collapse in a heap on the sofa and DH does the rest.

Poor old you SK.
I'm 29 wks today too.
My commute is not too bad. In the morning I walk dd to nursery so leave at 8, drop her about 8.20 then get tube to be in for 9. But dh picks her up so on the way home I can get the bus instead of walking and can be home in 40 minutes. Also, although the tube is pretty grim and sweaty now, I'm big enough to almost always get a seat which makes it bearable.
DD is 4 so not too much trouble in the evening. Mostly a case of managing her food intake (something that constitutes food rather than just ice lollies), making sure the TV is on the right channel and colouring is mostly on the paper rather than the table, having the 8 o clock bedtime battle and then reading stories (which dh and I take in turns).
Dh does most of the weekday cooking so I do get to put my feet up a bit, bless him It was our 8th wedding anniversary yesterday and he bought beautiful flowers so I'm in a good mood with him at the moment

thanks dino will do i am so worried about being in hospital afterwards never been in before and dont like the idea of DP.

I'm working at home on Friday but the thing is they need me in right now as I'm the only trained person (I know they are really up the creek when I leave.

Nevermind not long for us all to go till we get a wee break before the big day - I'm getting so excited now can't wait to see my little girl!

sponge · 25/05/2004 15:52

Try not to worry about being in hospital. I found it quite reassuring to have some people about who knew what they were doing as I had no clue.
The main thing in the hospital I was in was to have dh bring in food for me as theirs was inedible.
Off to lovely spa afternoon to be pampered now. Oh work can be hell

sponge - can I come with you to the spa?

Just re- read what I wrote I meant DP going home and levaing me (my brain is much right now)

sibble · 25/05/2004 23:38

Hi all, I am looking forward to a few nights in hosptial this time, just to spend soem time with the baby and have a bit of a rest becasue I know as soon as I set foot through the door at home DH will disappear and I'll be left with wonderful but full on 4 year old and new baby...only proviso I am struggling to get my own room - selfish I know but hard enough ebing woken by your own baby let alone others and their visitors.
Am struggling at the moment, feeling very unwell with anaemia and to top it all have a stinking headache this morning and stiff neck. It's so easy to put everything down to pregnancy when you are pregnant but nw wonder if I'm coming down with something as well as being anaemic. Can't wait for the iron pills to kick in. Otherwise have a trip to the hospital to look forward to.

sponge · 26/05/2004 12:37

Me too. I want to stay in as long as possible this time and be looked after
Agree about the private room. I went in a couple of days early last time and pre birth it was nice to have some other people on the ward to talk to, but afterwards I had a private room and I much preferred it. I did have to pay for it but not much. I shall be trying to get one again this time, although different hospital.

sweetkitty · 29/05/2004 18:14

hi all just thought I would bump us up a bit. Hope you all had a nice weekend in the sunshine. I got up this morning for work but had a terrible headache and felt sick so took 2 paracetamol and went back to bed. Feel a lot better now though only my second migraine since being pregnant so I can't complain.

Bought a breastmilk pump and steriliser at the weekend as well

sponge · 29/05/2004 18:49

Hello August. Happy sunny Monday.
Had my first ante natal with the GP rather than midwife this morning. God they're clueless. She poked around at my stomach for while and said I think that's the head and that's the bottom, but they both feel quite hard! So, could be head down, but maybe not. All very reassuring.
Still, off to New York on Thursday so mustn't grumble.
Hope you're feeling better SK.

Thanks sponge I'm better now apart from being back at work and the general joys of being pregnant. I'm so jealous wish I was going back to NY you'll have a great time, just make sure you go up the Empire State Building get there early to avoid the Q's. Another tip is to take a bus tour when you're feet or back start to hurt.

Just had my first mosquito bite of the summer, I live right on the river Thames and every year we are pestered by Mozzies, I don't want to rely on plug in Mozzie killers this year because of the baby so will have to think of soemthing else to keep them at bay.
