Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

Poor you . Don't know about antibiotics, but surely they wouldn't prescribe if they weren't safe to take? Are you drinking lots and lots of water? My m/w said to have AT LEAST 2 litres a day, the baby nicks most of it and this can mean that you can get infections due to lack of water for your plumbing department (!).

I didn't think it mattered either on positions until later in the pregnancy, but a sly part of me hopes for breech so I can have another section and avoid birth (I know, I know I am pathetic).

Mears has 'banned' herself from the site to do an assignment but maybe if you start a thread she will see it if she is lurking?

xxxxxxx

toothache sorry to hear your woes it seems from a quick google that frank breech is the most common type of breech and although im just offering a uninformed opinion perhaps they are just suggesting that you try everything personally to get babes to move round on its own while there is still room and no one else will need to interfere. Seems logical to me but im sure by the end of the day loads more experience women will tell you all.

Either way dont fret!!!!

stace · 18/05/2004 12:45

also had protein in urine etc and have just been told or asked, are you sure that you provide a mid stream as the first lot is always more concerntrated!!! Its a thought and i will be making sure that i catch the middle bit next time, ooh yuck!!

no problem hope it all looks good and feels comfortable too!!

sweetkitty · 18/05/2004 13:59

sorry to hear your still having problems toothache/m2t

My little darling still head up and midwife told me not to worry it was far far too early to start worrying and that 95% of babies turn anyway.

Don't know about the antibiotics really but I hate taking them in general because they always give me bad thrush as they can upset your natural bacteria, I always take a Diflucan at the same time these days but I don't know if you can take that in pregnancy. The only other thing would be to eat loads of natural yoghurt to stock up on "good bacteria."

Dino - glad you found something to wear that you will be comfy in, I'm debating whether to go to the toilet and wrench my thong out of my nether regions again (sorry if too much info) serves me right for trying to squeeze my ass into a Size 10 pair of pants instead of my maternity ones!

sweetkitty · 18/05/2004 14:00

oh and I asked the midwife on Tuesday what bit was what cos I'm interested and she said it's really difficult to tell when they are so small so how could they tell for certain it was a frank breech, I'm confused now!

Toothache · 18/05/2004 14:45

Thanks folks.

I am so prone to getting UTI's when I'm not pregnant that I do tend to drink quite a lot to avoid them. I've upped my fluid intake though to try to help.

SK - She said she could clearly feel the head and also felt the feet up by it's head too (baby was kicking). I wasn't too worried about it as I too thought it was too early to matter, it was more the MW's reaction that got me going.

I haven't been given any AB's yet, but if the infections goes the same way as last time I could end up in the labour ward again and I don't want that!

Mine was head down at 22 week check and sideways at 26 and I was told not to be complacent about the first or worry about the second as there was still lots of movement going on at this stage. Perhaps a little gentle trampolining might help (although come to think of it I don't think the pelvic floor would hold).
SK I'm with you in still squeezing myself into normal pants. Just can't bear the idea of giant maternity ones. Daft really as I'm happy to go about in big stretchy clowns trousers, and no-one can see the pants.

I've only got one pair of Maternity pants... the over-the-bump variety. They cost £14!!!! I still squeeeeeeeeeeze into my normal ones mostly, but they are starting to give me a line across my tummy. The maternity ones are BLISS!

LOL Sponge...

toothache - hope things settle down
you lot have made me feel huge - have been in maternity trousers for weeks, there is no way I could get in my normal clothes, in fact 1 pair of maternity trousers I bought are tight around the waist. My belly button has also started to do that weird protruding thing.
My nausea has also returned so am trying to eat smaller and more ofter but last night was eurghhhh went to bed at 8o'clock after sliceof toast for dinner...no fun

karen01 · 18/05/2004 23:54

just browsing and noticed you talking re pants and thongs. mothercare and next both do maternity thongs which sit under your bump. I am 35 weeks pg and find them very comfortable. Can't remember how much but not to pricy and came in a pack of 3 i think!!

sibble · 19/05/2004 07:30

midwife rang today with results of yeseterdays blood tests - am anaemic, so that makes sense why I have been feeling, sick, dizzy and tired. Am slightly relieved if the iron tablets do the trick could be back to normal

Toothache · 19/05/2004 11:39

Dino - These were from Mothercare! I bought them 3 yrs ago when pg with DS. After this baby is born I'm thinking of converting them into a Roman blind for the bathroom.... there's plenty of material!

Sibble - Not so good, but at least you now know what's causing it all. So and at the same time. Hopefully you'll feel 'glowing' soon. Watchout for the constipation on those Iron tabs though.... get yourself a big bag of pitted prunes to munch on all day. They are actually quite nice when you get used to them.

I'm so glad it's Friday - 28 wks today and 33 working days left until Mat leave. I'm finishing midweek due to holiday restrictions, so my last day will be Tuesday 29th June. Can't wait.

I noticed last night that my ankles and feet were incredibly swollen! Back to normal today though. I also think I've spotted the beginnings of a stretch mark just below my belly button. Hmph. I didn't get any last time until 37wks! And even then they were really low down just above my bikini line (which seems to have crept higher since becoming pregnant!!).

Sorry to be a bit gross..... but has anyone noticed their pubic hair growing extremely long at an alarming rate??? I've had to ask DH to trim me! He's going to do it this weekend and he seemed to be looking forward to it a bit toooooo much!

My maternity thongs from m&s and they are so comfy not big at all (but you should see the size of the matching bra). I finish up the 9th July 8 more weeks .

Was in the shower the other night and gave my boobs a squeeze (as you do) and a little bit of liquid came out I was so chuffed called DP to show him - the look on his face was a picture bless.

Hope you all have a good weekend adn the weather stays good for us.

sponge · 19/05/2004 12:40

Sibble, we're talking underwear not clothes. Have been in maternity clothes since about 14 weeks (now 28+2) and even baggy shirts are now very tight. Pants however sit under the bump and are v stretchy so just about make it, although the strain on the elastic is massive.
Pubic hair luxuriant, although I do tend to keep it trimmed at the best of times. Certainly not letting dh near it with a pair of clippers!
Tried to wax my legs yesterday - v unsuccessful. I think it's time to hand myself over to the professionals

cloggy · 19/05/2004 16:46

Am also 28 weeks pregnant and have made fatal error of spending all day on internet searching for info on listeria. I stupidly ate pasteurised brie and camembert without realising it wasn't recommended. Am now so worried, esp. as the more I looked up on the internet the more I realised I'd been eating the wrong things: parma ham being one of those things. My doctor is refusing me a test on the basis he thinks I'm worrying unnecessarily. I'm off to france next week and am hoping they can give me a test there as I cannot cope with the worrying! Am I mad?

sponge · 19/05/2004 19:06

If it was pasteurised you're fine. And to be honest even if it wasn't you'd still almost certainly be fine. If you had listeria you'd probably know about it pretty quickly - I've had it once and you feel really appalling, not just sick but like someone's kicked you all over. I wouldn't worry. The guidelines are there to help us avoid even the tiniest of risks.
Are you not supposed to eat Parma ham? I ate loads of it in France last month!

cloggy · 19/05/2004 19:35

Thankyou so much for your message. I'm still on the internet and having read the archived messages on this site, I've tried to calm down a bit. Its basically all such a worry isn't it?

sibble · 19/05/2004 23:41

lol sponge, have been living abroad for too long (pants - trousers), really couldn't work out how everybody was still in their normal clothes when I resemble a hippo. makes sense now!!!!Now I understand the conversation....(slow is the word that springs to mind).
toothache loved the thought of your DH trimming you, I asked DH to shave my legs last time, from teh look on his face you would have thought I had asked him to perform open heart surgery, wouldn't hold out much hope for the 'edward scissorhands' touch.
you are right, now have the constipation to look forward to but the good thing is this baby is craving fruit so I am eating about 4 bowl fulls each day - hopefully will be fine....

Hello Cloggy!

Well that's me 28+3 today.... 199 days down, 81 days until D Day. I'm hoping to pop at 38 wks though.....

More importantly, however, I've only got 31 working days until Mat Leave! YEEEEEEAH!

Felt good this weekend. Today I've got a really tense, achy bump though. Anyone else had this? It's like one big Braxton Hicks that doesn't seem to be easing off. It's not painful, but it is annoying.
