Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

86 days to go - sounds like a lot, how depressing. Let's all pray for early (but not too early) arrivals.
I feel very hot already too. It's only mildly sunny here today and I'm just in a T-shirt and feeling warm. God, what's July going to be like? I shall have to get some huge floaty tent things to wear and a punkawalla to follow me about

SpringChicken · 15/05/2004 19:28

I never was until last week when i got taken into hospital Dinosaur.
I had always thought along the line of This baby has got to come out eventually so no use worrying about it or the pain is only temporary and will go away as soon as the baby is here but now i am thinking f@#?ing hell, i've got to get this baby out of me.

Doesn't help that i have absolutely no faith in the bunch of useless waste of spaces that work in my local hospital.

Plus, i am petrified for my DP - he is trying to be so strong and brave - tells me he is not worrying or panicking about the birth but i know he just wont know how to deal with it and he will hate seeing me go through all that pain.

What do we get ourselves into eh?

Had Kidney infection - woke up with excrutiating back pain on Saturday morning rang the hospital as my midwife and GP's were not answering - hospital said to come in.

Was only there for 3 hours but being down on the deliver suite with everything going on around really brought it home just how close everything is.

We decided to build the crib last night so when i couldn't sleep i went into the nursery and just sat staring at it - i just cannot get my head around the fact that in 2 months time there is going to be a baby here.

sibble · 15/05/2004 23:33

Am also starting to get nervous about the birth, wasn't worried at all when had DS but guess a little bit of knowledge etc...am swinging between thinking a c/s is the easiset option at the time (can have one a 38 weeks if I want - very nice consultant) (have had one so know it is no walk int he park...) but like in the middle of nowhere int he country so not being able to drive for 6 weeks after doesn't bear thinking about.
Yet the thought of labour problems like last time and ending up with a c/s doesn't bear thinking about too
But my biggest problem is what to do with DS, my closest friend is not going to be around to have him and don't know anybody else well enough to leave him with and not be in labour and worrying....know have 3 months to work it out but is playing on my mind so insomnia +++ at the moment. Dh has suggested he comes with us to the hospital!!!!!
Oh 27 weeks today and counting

Am breathless whale as well.

Is anyone else not sleeping? I woke up at 4am and could not get back to sleep, was tossing and turning and eventually started crying . Poor dh was being lovely but I bet he was thinking 'shut up you whinging mare, I am knackered'. Think I am having another hormonal moment.

Springchick - I did that with our car seat, staring at it thinking OH.MY.GOD. Your dp will be fine, my dh is a headless chicken generally but was ok in my labour and I was SO glad he was there (if a bit useless )

sweetkitty · 16/05/2004 21:12

hi everyone

Just back from New York, it was great but tiring, very frustrating not being able to walk at my normal speed. New Yorkers are so much friendlier compared to Londoners, it was Mothers Day over there on Sunday and I had loads of people wishing me Happy Mothers Day to be.

Just had antenatal appt today as well I can't believe I'm 28 weeks tomorrow still lovely to hear the heartbeat and all appears to be well.

I thought I was all boobs and bump but my ass is spreading like butter right now as well and tying my shoelaces is getting much more difficult, thankfully it will be soon be summer and we can all wear flip flops and slip on sandals .

Toothache · 17/05/2004 12:04

THANKFULLY it'll be summer??? I'm dreading it! I was pregnant through Sumner with DS and it was a bl**dy nightmare. I swelled up hugely, and it was SOOO humid at night I couldn't breathe. And DS was born at the end of June. I'm kind of hoping for a cold-ish July this year. The Weather has my permission to improve and heat up around mid-August.

I've been wearing sandals all this week already. Even through the thunders storms, it has been bliss.

I've got my 28wk Antenatal check-up today. Let's hope I get another clean bill of health.... although I wouldn't mind if they advised that I gave up work next week.

Hope everyone is well.....I notice the June thread is starting to have a bit of action now! NOT LONG FOR US AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

I agree, I'm boiling hot already and it's pretty damn cold at the moment so not looking forward to being almost double the size in July! Although I did enjoy the moment last time when I got out of shoes and into my Reef flip flops and never looked back. Such comfort
Still, a lovely hot August I could cope with (due right at the beginning).
28 weeks today

Dino - That sounds just fine for a nice Summer wedding.

Sponge - I'm always so envious when you post coz you're due 2 days before me! It's weird, it IS only 2 days.... but you reach each weeks milestone slightly ahead of me IYSWIM??

sweetkitty · 17/05/2004 13:37

Sorry ladies I wasn't implying that a hot summer will be easy for us just it will be easier in terms of footwear. Also I'm still wearing my winter jacket (bought pre pregnancy) and the poor thing is stretched beyond belief. I've bought all my maternity clothes for hot weather but still need heavier clothes.

Dino - I think a smart linen trouser suit would be fine or a dress with a cardi.

Know what you mean about the swollen ankles Dino - i took my socks of last night and it looked like some had tied a rope around my ankles
Got the flip flops on today, could not face normal shoes this morning - it is so nice to be able to get some air to them.

Can everyone please hope and pray for a dip in the weather between 1st July and 24th July please - really do not fancy being in a boiling hot hospital on a boiling hot summers day attempting to squeeze soemthing rather large and painful out of me

SpringChicken · 17/05/2004 14:33

Oh and btw, a nice linen suit sounds absolutely fine - comfort is the main factor, i have realised that now

Go for the trousers and some nice comfy flat sandles. You certainly don't want to be spending too much on something really weddingy you'll never wear again.
I went to look for a top to wear to a friend's 40th last weekend and saw one in one of those swanky designer pg boutiques for £780! Who in their right mind would spent that on any top, let alone a tent-like one
Ended up wearing my jeans and a nice red t-shirt for £5.99 for Hennes - lots of compliments
On the ankle front, if it's any comfort a mate of mine said hers had swollen so badly by 32 weeks she couldn't even get her wellies on

Big thumbs up for linen from me too - I love it. Well we are coming into winter here and I am struggling with footwear too, bending over to do up trainers is becoming a big no-no, tend to get reflux when bend down and bump not having any of it anyway etc. haev some mothercare licra tights but again getting them on is an ordeal - had to lie down yesterday on the bed afterwards as came over all dizzy!!!! Glad nobody could see me. So am in a pair of slip on material shoes but got caught in teh rain yesterday at lunchtime and had to spend =next 2 hours at work squlching around teh office - very unpleasant.

stace · 18/05/2004 12:16

Hi everyone, also stressing about the heat of the summer, keeping looking at large paddling pools for the garden as i reckon that may be the place i will live for the last couple of weeks!!!

Dont know how reliable but maybe it will make us all a little more optimistic

www.theweatheroutlook.com/

sorry dont seem to be able to do the link thingy?

Anyone else still being sick or am i the only one out here? Also and SPD suffers i have been given a homeopathic remedy which really seems to ease the early pelvic strain soreness if youre interested its called Bellis Perennis!!!

stace · 18/05/2004 12:18

Dino, do you fancy borrowing something, i bet if you like there are plenty of us here that could come up with something for you?

If youre interested just let us know what size you reckon you are and whether its evening or day etc and we'll all post you back with ideas !!

Toothache · 18/05/2004 12:30

Hi all,

Had my 28 wk antenatal check yesterday and it seems it was too much to expect this one to be a clean bill of health too.

BP was fine, but there was blood and protein in my urine again. I have been getting those horrible sharp shooting pains low down in my abdomen again, so she sent another sample off. If I'm given another course of AB's that's be my 5th this pregnancy!! Is that safe?

Anyway, we'll see. Also the midwife informed me in a rather morose way that the baby is lying in a frank breech position. SHe told me to get on my knees and elbows, stick my bum in the air and wiggle! DS was copying last night and laughing at me.

I've to return in 2 wks time.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH! I thought it didn't really matter about the position until about 32 wks? Ds turned at 34 wks which was rather unpleasant and painful. Does the fact it's a FRANK breech make it more difficult for the baby to turn?
