Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

hello crashing from due in july cos i know dinosaur and wanted to see if it was her surfing at this time or night! anyway, dinny i'm in tooting too...would you like to meet up at some point? (i'm due july 9th)

Toothache · 19/06/2004 11:05

Good morning Ladies. Did you all have a nice weekend? I had a lovely weekend at my friends house. She's due in October and also has a toddler so it was really good to chat. She has also suffered from depression and tried numerous AD's before finding one that worked for her. This pregnancy she is going down the homeopathic route and speaking to a Doula too. We had a really nice gabber..... and a couple of glasses of red wine. I figured that this baby could handle a couple by now!! My ds and her dd fell asleep on the living room carpet together cuddled up under a duvet.... ah bless.
So we just left them there and went to the pub. >only joking<

I have only 2 full weeks at work left. The last week I'm only in Monday and Tuesday. So I've got 12 days to work (inc today). Then I'm going to join my local Aquanatal class and rrrrrrreally look like a beached whale!

Hope everyone is well.

Toothache · 19/06/2004 11:34

Oh Dinny - It's all cloudy here, which I'm glad of as I'm in a metal portacabin!

Just worked out that if this baby arrives on the date my DH predicted (25th July).....then I only have 5 wks and 6 days to go!!!!!!!!!!

Morning hot hot hot here at least I'm in nice air conditioned office but travelling tonight will be a pain maybe I might go a bit early avoid most of the rush.

20 working days to go...........

sponge · 19/06/2004 12:50

Morning all.
Threatening to be v hot here and our office isn't air con'd so I imagine I shall be a limp sweaty thing by early afternoon.
Had a stupid row with dh yesterday (about where he was moving a piece of furniture to, to clear the way for decorators!). Couldn't stop crying for about an hour. I wonder if I might be a bit hormonal .
Otherwise a good weekend tho. Almost did our first bit of baby preparation. Went to John Lewis and were going to buy a car seat but the queue was too long so we gave up! I can see me sending him off shopping as I go into labour at this rate .
Decorating starting today so by the end of the week we should have a nice clean, fresh bedroom and bathroom, living room and new (very pink!) bedroom for dd. Her tiny bedroom to become nursery/ office in due course.
33 days still to work .

Toothache · 19/06/2004 12:55

Sponge - What is it about pregnancy and decorating?? We have just had our Living Room painted, OUr dining room and stairway/hall wallpapered then painted.... Laminate flooring in the Dining Room (why didn't we think of that before??) and we are due to have a carpet fitted in the Living Rm next week.

All this BEFORE we start decorating our bedroom which is to become the 2 childrens room! It'll be worht it in the end, but I hate having boxes lying around and furniture scattered all over the place.

11 days left to work.

We've just had living room and spare room painted as well not having a nursery as such as planning to move once bubs is here (I know we are mad).

Ouch dino I remember the pain of hydrogen peroxide in my eyes - I had laser surgery 18 months ago and was the best money I ever spent. I was one stage away from a guide dog now I have perfect vision.

Have now counted 4 mozzie bites on me so I'm itching and scatching like mad. We killed 8 mozzies between us last night but missed 2 that I had to kill this morning. Been over to Boots and you can use mozzie killer whilst pregs but not on babies under 6 months don't like the idea of her always sleeping under mozzie net though will have to come up with another solution.

yea that's what we've had the last few years and it works well but I wasn't happy using it while preg but it says it's fine just feel bad breathing it in all night.

sibble · 19/06/2004 23:49

snap, put up new curtains in DS's bedroom yesterady (jsut to see what they looked like) and off to buy three tins of paint today for DS's, nursery and spare bedroom. Decorating must be in the air - if I have any energy left will also tackle Tv room.
Had very worrying stomach cramps over weekend, so may wait until see midwife on Friday before I get back up the ladder, thought was going into labour, Sunday night were strong and rhymtmic all night but have stopped now. Want the baby early but not this early - 32 weeks today, another 3 weeks and will stop worrying if born early. 35 plus is fine by me!!!

sweetkitty · 20/06/2004 12:54

Morning ladies hope the heat isn't getting to you all too much. Journey home last night was tough I had a face like a beetroot by the time I got home cold shower sorted me out though. Fell asleep during Eastenders till 10.30 .

Still being stuck on a boiling hot train for 25 mins outside the station cheered me up no end this morning, oh I love commuting!!

Toothache · 20/06/2004 12:59

Sweetkitty - I really do sympathise. I am so glad my Employers allowed me to work from the site office local to me. I was 1.5 hrs commute each way.... why are tube trains SOOOOOO smelly??

However, I think Beetroot would be offended at your comments.... she's a rather attractive woman dontcha know!

Morning all, hayfever has hit big time and I have a lovely red scabby nose to match my red eyes .

Dd has been teething/got a cold/hayfever so have had a couple of bad nights with a whining child, up at 2.30am Monday am and 4.30am this morning, zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Feel like poo. Going to have half day and go home and snooze I think.

Found out this morning that my road is going to be 'resurfaced' from July 5 for 7 months which will cause MAJOR DELAYS so I may start my mat leave early, don't fancy sitting on a bus for hours travelling in.

Toothache · 20/06/2004 14:09

Olive Oil - Sniff, snort, splutter.... know the feeling. Also think DS has got it, he woke up at 1am this morning (in bed beside me of course) and asked me to take his nose off! Bless! Wish I could remove my own at times.

OP posts:
oliveoil · 20/06/2004 14:14

Dd won't sleep in our bed, I have tried and tried but she just arches her back and screams. Would make things loads better if she would as she just wants comforting when she is ill and it's either me getting up with her, or giving her Calpol and calming her down then back in her cot to whinge.

Toothache · 20/06/2004 14:19

DS - Has slept in beside us since about day 1. We were at our wits end with his 2 hourly feeds night and day so we gave in. And at the moment his room is being decorated and is full of odd bits of furniture so DH is sleeping in there, DS and I get the big bed. I actually really enjoy it. He does usually start off in his own bed, but always is in ours by 1am.

OP posts:
oliveoil · 20/06/2004 14:29

dd used to be in our bed too occasionally and I loved it too, lots of squishy sleepy cuddles . But one day that was it, screaming and arching of back. Pain in the a**e. Am thinking of lying on it in the day with her to get her used to it, prob make rod for my own back and she won't want to go in her cot .

How are you today anyway not you have stopped the tablets, feeling better?

muriwai · 20/06/2004 14:39

Hi everyone,I'm new to mumsnet - expecting my first baby in August (2nd) and only discovered mumsnet a couple of weeks ago so have been having a great time reading all your posts and working up the courage to join in! Are there any other first time mums due in August? I'm beginning to feel slightly terrified at the prospect of becoming a mum, but I guess there's no turning back now.

Toothache · 20/06/2004 14:56

OO - Feeling MUCH better and I'm going to speak to the GP at my next antenatal a week tomorrow. The dose I was started on is just far too high. I am optimistic thought that a lower dose or a different AD entirely will do the trick for me and I'm not so frightened about PND re-appearing. Now it's all out in the open it feels much less terrifying.

Welcome to MN Muriwai. I'm due my 2nd on 6th August. I'm daunted by it all too.... not scared, just overwhelmed I think.
Where do you live? I think I'm the only Scottish Mum on the August thread. You lot are all too far away!!

Hi Muriwai, welcome to mumsnet. You do realise your life is now over and you are trapped in the cult that is Mumsnet . This site is v addictive.

I am due 18 August, 2nd baby, must be mad as the one I have is exhausting enough. But gorgeous so I will let her off.

muriwai · 20/06/2004 15:07

Thanks all for the welcome. Definitely makes me feel better that it's a daunting business even for people who've done it before.

Toothache - I'm way down south too, I'm afraid. In Ashford, in Kent, which makes for a lovely two-hour each way commute to London every day. But only two-and-a-half weeks to go - and boy am I counting the days.

No worries at all about the name - dinosaur - I didn't even notice and it serves me right for choosing something complicated!
