Here we go, as promised...

Yes Dino, I am M2T. Not in disguise though, just got really bored of my name.

So this thread can be a record of the last half of our pregnancies. I'm going to print out the original as a nice log of the first 5 months of the pregnancy.

This is thread we'll all be posting on when we go into labour!! I'm all excited now.

hi muriwari I'm a first time mum due on August 4th. I know what you mean I keep looking at my stomach thinking OMG a baby is coming out of there soon.

Welcome to mumsnet it is truly great I've had loads of great advice over the last few months I'm well and truly addicted.

You can join the race to have the first August baby, I think most of us are due the first week in August.

sweetkitty · 20/06/2004 15:11

you lot are fast I was just writing that post and theres 3 more on it already you aren't all on MN at work never catch me doing that.

Muriwari - you must have the delights of Connex South eastern as well then? I've got one and a half hours commute into London each way from SE London, do you come into London Bridge/Cannon Street?

Aww Toothache you know I'm an exiled Scot

sponge · 20/06/2004 15:16

Welcome muriwai.
I'm expecting number 2 on August 4th.
Also getting to the "oh my god what have I done" stage, but simultaneously becoming quite keen to get this pregnancy lark over with.
Finding sleeping quite difficult now with the heat etc. And dd has taken to having nightmares about swiper the fox (Dora the Explorer). She woke up crying last night and I had to go and lie with her for an hour. I think she might be getting anxious about the new arrival as well - waking up in the night isn't like her and she didn't seem that scared, just wanted some attention I think.
So hot and tired here but otherwise well.
I think Sweetkitty is a first timer - also due August 4th.

Toothache · 20/06/2004 15:17

Muriwai - I've been there! One of my friends is a Biology Teacher in Ashford. She has a ds who is just over a year old. She might even be a Mumsnetter, I've never asked her.

BC (before children) I went down there and had a good few nights out in Ashford and Canterbury.

SK - I didn't know that!!

sponge · 20/06/2004 15:18

You're right SK, they are quick and so are you!

muriwai · 20/06/2004 15:21

Sweetkitty - yes I'm a fellow sufferer - I usually catch the Cannon Street train and get off at London Bridge. The worst thing is trying to get a seat on the way home. Almost cried last Friday when they decided to make the train six carriages shorter! Was absolutely exhausted and it took until sevenoaks for someone to offer me a seat!

Pennies · 20/06/2004 15:23

Hello everyone. This is my first post on Mumsnet! I printed off this thread (yes, all 50 pages of it!!) last night and spent about 2 hours reading it and thought I'd say hello!

Am due on 25th August (girl). my first. I live in Hackney in London and am expecting to give brith at the Homerton (any expreiences of that hospital anyone? - Dinosaur I see you're from near me - where are you delivering?).

As a forum newbie, what does DD / DS mean? Am being a bit thick here I suspect!

oliveoil · 20/06/2004 15:26

dd - dear daughter
ds - dear son

Or I hope so as that is what I think!

xx

Toothache · 20/06/2004 15:27

Welcome Pennies! And this is the 2nd Due in August 2004 Thread as the first one got too big.

Didn't anyone ANYWHERE else in Britain conceive around Oct/Nov 03????? The London area must've been rampant, were they dishing out free Oysters?!

Nice to see more recruits for the 'final countdown'!

Toothache - Can't believe you've actually had a night out in Ashford. Does your friend live in town or outside? I have to admit it's not my favourite place in the world. One of the sunday papers called it the a*hole of Kent a few weeks ago, and I tend to agree, but we're stuck here for the moment, so got to make the best of it.

Pennies - hooray another newby! Glad I'm not the only one who took a while to discover the joys of MN.

sweetkitty · 20/06/2004 16:36

he he sponge I think MN's all thats keeping me going at work just now.

Welcome Pennies - another Londoner due in August!

Dino - It's a bit early for the head to engage is it not? Mine still feels like it's doing somersaults at the moment.

Sorry to hear about your previous medical issues, you've not had an easy time have!!? But I'm glad they seem to think everyone will be fine this time.

Ds1 was engaged at 27 weeks!

Toothache · 21/06/2004 16:49

Oh dear, my use of "issues" wasn't really appropriate was it... .

After today I've only got 9 more working days to suffer these irritable pricks I share a portacabin with! 2 of those days are Fridays, so are actually only part-days.

Pokes head in again even though not pg.....

Pennies, and anyone else who is wondering what the ds etc mean, at the top of the page there is a link called "acronym list". That should get you started. Hth.

Toothache · 21/06/2004 16:50

lou33 - I thought that before about 36 wks their head could still become disengaged? When was your ds born (I mean was he premature?)?

OP posts:
lou33 · 21/06/2004 16:52

Well he was definitely engaged from 27 weeks, and stayed there, which put me into a blind panic, as I thought he would pop out at any minute . I had a threatened labour at 34 weeks with him, and he eventually popped out at 38 weeks.

sponge · 21/06/2004 17:38

33 weeks today. Feels like progress!
Toothache, mine too - thrashing about like he's training for the Olympics, so no early engagement for me I don't think. No midwife apptmt for 2 weeks tho.
Still 6 weeks more to work but my maternity cover starts at the beginning of July so then I can just sit back and watch him do my job while I chat on Mumsnet .

Morning all 33+1 today, at least the weather has calmed down a bit and is a lot cooler today.

First time last night my feet have been really swollen so had to have them up all night resting on a pillow (DP's of course )

Toothache · 22/06/2004 12:34

SK - Yeah my feet are noticably swollen by the end of the day now. This is the pants part of pregnancy where you are to big and uncomfortable to do much.... except wait... and wait.... and wait.

Cheery this morning aren't I??

oliveoil · 22/06/2004 12:44

I am fed up of being pregnant and am only 31 weeks . Feel fat and breathless all the time.
