I had absolutely loads of them. Really horrid ones.... in fact if a few of them were cracks in the pavement you could trip over them and injure yourself quite badly!!

A few deep painful ones and a few more, below my belly button, my deepest ones came after my due date as CDs did, was so so so annoyed!!!!!!!!

Blu · 20/04/2004 17:25

Nope - none.

I had a ridiculous lina negra or whatever they're called, but it's gone now.

princesspeahead · 20/04/2004 17:35

no stretchmarks resulting from my three thank goodness (definitely genetic re whether you get them or not - I certainly didn't do any massaging with cocoa butter or whatever it is you are meant to do!)

bunny2 · 20/04/2004 19:34

Mine were horrific, bright red lines from my belly button downwards. They faded but are starting to reappear at 9 wks.

The lovely Jane Goldman (Mrs Jonathan Ross) has them too.

baldrick · 20/04/2004 19:37

they suddnely appeared at around 7 months, cocoa butter didn't get rid of them, had loads and belly button popped out too!

sweetkitty · 20/04/2004 19:55

None so far fingers crossed, my mum hasn't any (after 2) and my gran hadn't any after 6 but she did have loads of piles according to my mum.

Nutcracker · 20/04/2004 19:59

I have loads, quite bad ones too. My dd was lying transverse for most of the pregnancy so i got well and truly stretched.
Mine are so bad that when i was pregnant with Ds and in hospital after a scare, the doctor asked me what surgery i had had done and pointed to my worst stretch mark. It runs straight through my belly button so thats a weird shape too.

JeniN · 20/04/2004 20:19

I was religious with the cocoa butter but still got some..seemed like they appeared after dd was born, but then they would have been on the underside of the bump IYSWIM..just a small patch really, hope they fade soon.

Lesley76 · 20/04/2004 20:41

Sorry i have none so far & I'm 40 weeks plus. I agrre with the others who say its genetic as i've not done any creams or oils etc. i suspect it may be because i'm extremely old and so my skin stretches more easily.......

marsup · 20/04/2004 20:46

None at all. Is it to do with having browner skin? do blondes get more of them? (just a guess)

Monkeysmum · 20/04/2004 20:49

Loads, this body has definitely waved goodbye to it's last bikini! Unless I want to frighten everyone off the beach - could come in useful then!

smellymelly · 20/04/2004 20:50

Nope, I'm blonde and have practically none, I do believe it may have something to do with age, people I know who were over 25 when they were pregnant (inc me) have none, and those I know in their teens or early 20's have more.
I never used any creams with 2nd pregnancy...

Monkeysmum · 20/04/2004 20:58

You could have point there smellymelly, I was 23 when I had my first so that fits your theory

Flip · 20/04/2004 21:10

I haven't got any stretch marks on my stomach and I was 21 with first and 26 with second. But I do have quite a few on my boobs. Although saying that, I know a fourteen year old who's got stretch marks on her boobs and thankfully she hasn't had any children - yet!

suedonim · 20/04/2004 21:25

I had a fair few, under my bump and round the sides, though I didn't get any new ones in pg's 3&4. I can't say they bother me, in fact I'm quite fond of them, though they are very faded. I'm more than happy to have stretch marks in exchange for not having had piles or varicose veins!

KPB · 20/04/2004 21:28

None on my stomach, just a few faint ones on tops of legs, bum and boobs. Thankfully as my youngest is nearly 5 now they have really faded. I think it must be genetic as my mum only has a few faintish ones as well!!!

Browbeaten · 20/04/2004 21:29

The age theory doesn't work with me as I don't have any stretch marks and I had first baby at 34 and 2nd at 36.

Browbeaten · 20/04/2004 21:31

Sorry - age theory does work with me - derrr!!

tamum · 20/04/2004 21:31

Not a single one, and I never used creams either, agree with mears it's a waste of money (unless it makes you feel better of course )

sykes · 20/04/2004 21:32

I don't think it's anything to do with age - have none and had children late. It's genetic - but did plaster myself in some silly lotions.

dogwalker · 20/04/2004 21:33

Lesley76 you say because you are so old - you 76 then or what?

dinosaur · 20/04/2004 21:34

None with DS1 and DS2 but as I am so huge this time, I'm sure I'm bound to get some soon...

eddm · 20/04/2004 21:50

Yes, loads, to add to the ones I got when my boobs appeared. Mother kindly pointed out I'd got some on my back too! (kind of round the side IYKWIM).
Bloody junior doc in hospital asked me in horrified voice 'did you not use any stretchmark cream?'. Stupid mare, hope she gets LOADS when it's her turn.
