I actually remember both of you having your bleeds. especially the long-awaited post from rp: "THE DINO LIVES!!'"

RevoltingPeasant · 29/12/2014 12:34

Grin nolly

Thanks Win & Feather. Yeah I texted the HB MW and she rang up and said, it was probably nothing, might be a tiny bit of early show, and just to call back if there was anything else and she'd either examine me or send me to hospital.

I really like her - she is totally unflappable! She said if the baby is moving okay, don't worry too much.

But yeah nolly I do remember those days - including surreptitiously sticking my fingers down my pants at random intervals to see if there was blood Blush Blush Blush I did carry wet wipes..... Blush

Pixie001 · 29/12/2014 15:40

Scan went well! Thanks for the good wishes. Strong heartbeat and measured 7w1d vs 7wk it should be today. Phew! Can relax for the rest of the week off work now. Appt with Dr on Fri to get into standard MW care.

Pipbin · 29/12/2014 15:46

Hurrah Pixie. Glad all went well.

ladybunnikins · 29/12/2014 16:07

Congrats Pixie!

FeatherFeather11 · 29/12/2014 17:07

Yay pixie!

rp your mw sounds ace! And glad she thinks all is fine. Still not worked out what a 'show' is. Can you explain?

My boob fell out of my bra today while in Mothercare car seat shopping. Blush think it's time I get a couple of maternity bras. win rp have you done that yet?

OP posts:
nolly3 · 29/12/2014 18:02

congrats Pixie, what a relief.

RP I am doing that too. Shame/paranoia has no bounds apparently!

Can't believe you guys are so nearly there! hope you stick around around so we can ask advice...

OttersPocket · 29/12/2014 18:30

Woohoo Pixie, excellent news Grin. Can I ask about how your symptoms are just now? My boob tenderness has gone and I'm generally feeling quite good so I'm a bit paranoid...

RP, I've also found myself doing that Blush

It's so exciting that some of the Berries are about to have their babies, it proves that we can all get there, even if it takes time and heartbreak.

sparechange · 29/12/2014 19:03

Great news PixieSmile

nolly3 · 29/12/2014 19:14

pip and pixie did you decide to get early scans privately, or did you go through FC?

Also Pip are you a goon show fan?

Pixie001 · 29/12/2014 19:18

Thanks everyone..such a relief to not fall out of the copter.
Otter I don't have loadsa symptoms. The last couple wks just had stretching/pre-af aches, tiredness and sore nips but tbh they come and go so don't worry too much if you're feeling alright. Last couple of days I've been feeling more nauseous and more frequent loo trips. Have you been to Dr yet? Do you think you'll have an early scan or wait til 12 wks?

Pixie001 · 29/12/2014 19:25

Nolly because I was ivf the fc did an early scan so that they can check viability of pregnancy before handing me over to normal antenatal care. My SIL recently had an early scan on nhs for her #2 as she had bad sickness and just wasn't feeling good with pregnancy. Otherwise I think you normally have to go private if it's a reassurance scan. It's not too expensive...I think normally around £75. If you're stressing I think it's well worth it.

RevoltingPeasant · 29/12/2014 19:46

pixie such good news!! Yay :) so now you will have a regular 12w dating scan next, right? I read when I was in the early stages that if you can see a HB at that stage, it's really good news.

feather a show is when the mucus plug (yummy) comes out of your cervix. It forms during early weeks of pg, not sure when, and basically plugs up the cervix to prevent infection. It can come out all at once, in bits, and early in pg and then regrow - but I think if you have a substantial mucus loss with blood at our stage it may be a sign that things are getting going. The MW said it might be "things starting to loosen up" though not necessarily kicking off yet.....

RevoltingPeasant · 29/12/2014 19:52

Oh also I found the best invention at M and S - bra back extenders! They are a fiver for three in different colours, white, black, and flesh tone. They totally make my bats comfier.

Feather I have been in mat bras since 16w since I found the underwire bit in. I bought two mat cum nursing bras and they have done me really well since the summer.

Pipbin · 29/12/2014 20:32

Nolly. Just like Pixie I had a scan at 7 weeks to check viability then another because they weren't sure if it was ok.
And Goon Shows, why yes, what gave me away?

OttersPocket · 29/12/2014 20:38

Pixie thanks for the symptom reassurance. I have an NHS scan on the 12th Jan when I'll be 7 weeks. The scan will be at the fertility clinic. It's taken me nearly 3 years, 13 months of Clomid, 2 mcs, and three cycles with Gonal-f injections to get to this point so they want to keep an eye on things. Ironically this bfp was from my first natural, post gonal-f treatment cycle. Think it's the first time I've ever ov'ed naturally! I was basically on the countdown to IVF in the Spring so it was a bit of a surprise. Just to make things a wee bit more difficult I'm also a type 1 diabetic, so I'm already under consultant care and will get more frequent scams because of that fun complication Hmm I will have to go to fortnightly hospital appointments for blood tests and monitoring throughout. I'm not complaining though, I just want it to work out this time!

greatbigbushybeard · 29/12/2014 21:06

pixie good news eh! it's such a relief isn't it?
otters in the early days I just noticed sore boobs and a few twinges & that was it, then the being hungry all the time, then I got a cold which made me feel grotty & coincided with a slight nausea. At mo ( 11 weeks) boobs aren't as bad so in one way that makes me worry a bit like you but I'm still hungry a lot and have a kinda clawy feeling in my lower tummy ( any ladies further on know what I mean?). Also I weighed myself and I have put on quite a lot of weight! About 5-7lbs!! I did read it was good to put weight on. I'm not sure that much is so good!! Maybe it's just Christmas lard & not pg!!

nolly I had an early scan because we were with fc and were due to start 2nd cycle of Ivf and got a natural bfp.

Treated myself today to a facial, lovely! We're off tomorrow to watch the lion king- excited!

Pixie001 · 29/12/2014 21:08

Otter that's crazy what your body decided to do but how nice it being a natural cycle. Have you got further than your previous mcs yet?
It took us exactly 2 and a half yrs from wedding day to Bfp! And about a year ago we were told by a clueless consultant that we were never gonna be able to have kids (DH swimmers can't get out) but once we got into FC they told us we could try icsi so I know how it feels to finally feel like you're moving in the right direction against all odds.
Fx for you..try not to count down the days to 12th...keep yourself distracted!

Pixie001 · 29/12/2014 21:15

Bushy I'm on track to also put on that much weight. I've put on 2lbs already and you're 4wks ahead of me...I think it's Christmas crap rather than anything else though stares blamingly at chocolate coin wrappers strewn across coffee table. Enjoy the lion king...not seen it but heard it's amazing!

Pipbin · 29/12/2014 21:24

Bushy. My boobs have calmed down but I've still got nipples like chapel hat pegs.
Other than that all other symptoms have gone except slight morning nausea.

greatbigbushybeard · 29/12/2014 21:47

Lol at the chapel hat pegs!!

I have got through a fair few chocolate wrappers too!!

Do you know it's lovely hearing people's stories about defeating the odds. In your face pixie's clueless consultant Xmas Grin

OttersPocket · 29/12/2014 21:51

I saw the Lion long last year Bushy it was fantastic! Have fun.

Pixie my first mc was an mmc picked up at my second scan at 8 weeks and I opted for an ERPC. The second mc I started bleeding at 6 weeks and it happened naturally. I feel that I have lots of milestones to get past but I'm going to try to keep as busy as possible to keep my mind off of it as much as possible.

Due to the diabetes I have to be extra careful about what I eat during pregnancy. So it's a strict low carb, no sugar, no fun diet for me for (hopefully) the next months. Xmas has been seriously boring, I would love to have just one chocolate!

nolly3 · 29/12/2014 22:21

ta for the early scan knowledge ladies. I am tempted, as I know I will just worry. but then, once work starts again I'll be really busy. Is it better to know? I am terrible at waiting for things (so the last 2.5 years has been a total breeze).

Pip I actually don't know. Pipbin is from bleak expectations now I think of it. Maybe you name just reminded me of Minnie and Henry Crun - my favourites.

Otters I think I'm about 5 days behind you. I had seriously sore nips for a few days but it seems to have eased off now. Just bloated, and some peculiar twinges, like internal groans, every now and again. Although OH says my boobs stick out more at the sides.

You must have had the same sort of christmas day as me - constantly having to think oh yes, I can't drink/eat cheese/have loads of tea. Very strange. I'm pretty sure I've already been outed for not drinking on bday, we went to a cocktail place and it is not like me to order perrier. But needs must!

I've got those back extensions too rp although in my case because I bought the wrong size bra and couldn't be arsed to take it back.

RevoltingPeasant · 29/12/2014 22:42

Otter I have also got a scan on the 12th so we can be scan buddies :) mine is for presentation, i.e. is the baby head down or not. I know the odds are higher for you but we can handhold anyhow!

It's also funny how different people's symptoms are! My boobs have scarcely hurt or changed shape during the whole pg - I am still the same cup size - and I felt a bit bloated but hardly put on any actual weight until well into the second tri. But then I had the most beautiful cold sores that covered all the lower bit of my nose and just seemed to come one after the other - at least eight in total! - and streaming hayfever and twice-daily vommings.

I am glad other people stick their fingers down their pants too. DH called it WazingaFingers as I was sticking my fingers up my wazinga......

thelentil · 29/12/2014 22:59

Also had a dry, chocolate free, Christmas with no tea or coffee and very small amounts of food, can't handle a full plate. Doesn't help the positive mental attitude!

I'm struggling a bit, still can't get motivated, happy, enthusiastic about anything, so so tired, I know OH is getting a bit fed up with it now. Has anyone else found the process has taken it's toll mentally? Objectively it's bound to be hard, I just didn't think it would be this hard
