Well do they show up that easily?! I had my 20 week scan yesterday (was not told the sex)and when we came out both DH and I said we thought we saw the testicles hanging down between the legs.........? Is that possible

Yep, I saw boy bits on ds' scan!

lulumama · 30/09/2006 13:52

yep - hubby saw willy before ultrasound person did!!! and you can see it on 3 of the pictures - !

brimfull · 30/09/2006 13:53

yes I saw ds's bollocks

dejags · 30/09/2006 13:54

Yes, it was the first thing I spotted.

Twiglett · 30/09/2006 13:54

girl's bits are amazingly huge at birth and in utero and are easily mistaken for boys' bits

teabags · 30/09/2006 13:55

thanks.......and there was DH assuming his son was well endowed

I've had a boy and a girl - scans of their respective bits totally different and could not have been mistaken IMHO! girls bits looked like 2 thin white lines -boy bit looked like a willy!!

lulumama · 30/09/2006 13:58

do you mind sort of knowing now teabags??

Twiglett · 30/09/2006 13:59

willy and testicles are different

girl's labia are swollen and easily mistaken for testicles

fattiemumma · 30/09/2006 13:59

yeap you can definatly see them.

i didn't knowif i wanted to know the sex..looked at the ultra sound, DS turned over and my question was answered whether i wanted to know or not...there was NO mistaking! lol

lulumama · 30/09/2006 14:03

you're right twiglett- fair enough!

fridascruffs · 30/09/2006 14:04

i saw the whole lot w/ ds, plain as day, a girl doesn't have testicles AND a willie!

Twiglett · 30/09/2006 14:04

hey I found out at 20 weeks with both

cos I asked the sonographer

I don't like surprises

teabags · 30/09/2006 14:04

I'm v intrigued but I also want a surprise iyswim. Until the baby is born I will probably never feel 100% certain but my gut instinct now after what we saw is saying boy
(It's the testicles we thought we saw hanging down not the willy)

OP posts:
lulumama · 30/09/2006 14:07

well, only 20 weeks to wait....

Olihan · 30/09/2006 14:12

What was your instinct before the scan? I was fairly sure I was having a boy from about 6 wks. Dh thought he saw a willy on the scan but I missed it and we didn't ask. Sure enough, he was a boy but it was still a surprise when he was born, because we hadn't had it confirmed and it was nice to see that we were both right!!

teabags · 30/09/2006 14:27

I had no strong instinct before the scan but DH thought girl and I suppose I may have too.
Oh well, as Lulumama says only another 20 weeks to wait!

ShinyHappyPeopleHoldingHands · 30/09/2006 14:43

Yes almost def a boy then

WestCountryLass · 30/09/2006 20:55

DH told me he had seen a willy on our scan and so we were expecting baby Toby to arrive, but instead my DD made a very unexpected arrival

Daisypops · 30/09/2006 21:23

Does anyone know what the chances are of the sonographer getting it wrong? The lady who did mine was 'senior sonographer' so I'm hoping she won't be wrong, she said she went back twice and looked and was 95% sure. I've bought tons of stuff and have told DP he may be taking things back and shopping again come January!x

teabags · 02/10/2006 09:45

I don't know? I think on the whole they are usually fairly accurate. I have heard of a few people being told it's boy but really it turns out to be a girl (due to umbilical cord?)but not the other way round

KellyKrueger1978 · 02/10/2006 09:46

I could never see it! I found out the sex with all of mine but I could enver really see it. ds1 was the hardest to spot, until he urinated and it popped up, but I still missed it.

Tiny1 · 02/10/2006 10:22

Would love to hear from anyone who actually was told by a sonographer that it was a boy and then turned out to be a girl! I can't believe that they would get it wrong that way around. I do know people who were told it was a girl but then a boy appeared so the willy must have been hiding!

MotherBeaker · 02/10/2006 16:21

We definitely saw the sausage and the beans - the sonographer said if it's a girl then she has something wrong with her!

I don't think I would feel so secure though if it wasn't so obvious.

Daisypops · 02/10/2006 22:23

ROFL at 'sausage and beans'. My DP eats these all the time, I will smile everytime he says it now!!!
