Anyone got any tips for coping with a toddler when you are in late pregnancy and soooo tired you feel like you could fall asleep on your feet?

Errrr2012 · 01/10/2014 06:29

Good luck sampson

My symptoms have all calmed down again but bp is getting a bit unpredictable now. Back in to see consultant first thing to discuss eviction. Had terrible night sleep fretting over vbac v section v EMCS etc .........

Errrr2012 · 01/10/2014 06:32

On a positive note ds has just woken up and is singng to himself. Supercute! I'm trying to enjoy these little things before the newborn chaos hits us!!

ithoughtofitfirst · 01/10/2014 06:52

Hi newcomers!

We're all just moaning about being fed up basically.

sampson good luck i really hope this is it! Xxx

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 01/10/2014 06:55

Good luck Sampson, hope today is The Day!

Ive been having crap sleep the last week - tossing and turning til 3am, then DD has been trying to be up from about 5am. We got her a Groclock a while back but its effectiveness seems to be wearing off Sad

weebairn · 01/10/2014 08:42

Oh good luck MsSampson!!!!

Well… Blush… for all my whining… baby arrived last night in a powerhouse of a 4 hour labour, arriving on her due date and DD1's birthday! Yeah it still fucking hurt but given first labour was 30 hours long I feel quite stunned! (In a good way!)

All at home and no complications, midwives were so wonderful, I feel so fortunate and we are a very happy family all cuddled up in bed this morning. DD1 is absolutely thrilled with "her" baby...

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 01/10/2014 08:45

Yaaay!! Congratulations!
Just goes to show we can ve moaning about nothing happening one mi ute and four hours later have a newborn Grin

Gen35 · 01/10/2014 08:57

Congrats weebairn! I wonder if all these hormones that make us feel fed up aren't also helping us gear up...that's the hope anyway! My skin's gotten awful and I'm hoping that's a good sign something's going to happen.

thinkineed2admit · 01/10/2014 10:42

You're all heroes. I have one toddler and no pregnancy and you all seem to make way more of an effort than me!

MsSampson · 01/10/2014 13:20

Make that moaning and two newborns! Got to hospital at 8, in room at 9, DS born at 9.12. Bit stunned! All good. He's big and ferociously hungry. As am I. Have to stay in to be monitored as we had meconium in waters, bit annoying, home tomorrow.

congrats weebairn!

ithoughtofitfirst · 01/10/2014 13:26

Aaaaaah!!!! 2 babies!!!!!!

Congratulations Thanks Flowers Cake Brew

Awwww i'm excited for mine now eeeeeeeee

weebairn · 01/10/2014 13:47

Wow something in the air?!??

Huge congrats mssampson that is a very fast birth, hope it was good to get it over with quickly and you weren't too overwhelmed!! So delighted you weren't induced after all your patient waiting. Hope you get to go home soon xxxx

Errrr2012 · 01/10/2014 14:37

Yeah!! Congrats baby sampson and baby weebairn!!! Lightning quick delivery, the rest of us have high expectations now! I'm having another day of tests and monitoring. On medication now, back in tomorrow for more of the same......stretch n sweep earlier so who knows.

parallax80 · 01/10/2014 14:57

Hooray! Good work baby Sampson and baby weebairn. What a great birthday present to be able to produce too weebairn! Thrilled to hear everyone's news.

Errrr am crossing my fingers for you mightily. There is no "right" decision as you never get to find out what would have happened had you decided otherwise, so try not to fret too much about VBAC / section etc etc. Crossing fingers for you.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 01/10/2014 15:57

welcome baby sampson!

CheshireEditor · 01/10/2014 16:52

12 hours of Cebeebies and a constant supply of ready made food eg: Baby Bel, Dairylee dunkers, YO Bears etc etc.

They won't remember it, you won't be so knackered. All good.

Errrr2012 · 01/10/2014 18:09

cheshire good tips, never buy dairylea Dunkers but I guess they might occupy ds for longer than a baby bel! You're right, they won't remember and whatever works eh.

parallax you're so right, no point stressing, what will be will be. Decision so far is to try and bp stable and wait it out for normal delivery. Issue won't be forced until due date or if bp can't be controlled. How's it all going with the twinnies?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 01/10/2014 18:11

Oh DD loves Dairylea Dunkers! We often sit and have one each and a big bowl of grapes to share too.

Mumzy · 01/10/2014 18:15

Ds1 going to Morning play group, afternoon one o'clock club where someone would always bring me a cup of tea while I watched ds1 playing Cbeebies and Pingu DVDs were my saviours at that stage and for the first 9 months with ds2.

parallax80 · 01/10/2014 19:24

Errrr I had exactly the same circular thought processes re vaginal delivery vs section - in some ways I think I was slightly hoping twin 1 would be breech so I would have less of an option (or at least feel I had less of an option) but in the end I just had to make a decision and then try to come to terms with it (In fact the obstetricians were much more persuasive towards section than I was due to previous complex tear, so I kind of let myself be guided by them - haha and then convinced myself it was their decision!)

I'm feeling a bit weepy today, presumably the day 5 hormones. I found a "lump" in my armpit in the shower and within about 2 mins had convinced myself I was about to die. On further inspection I'm not even sure it's a lump, so I'll wait and show it to midwife on Friday by which time it'll prob be gone, if it ever existed I had a similar episode after DS1 where I was convinced the plane would crash over the North Sea on my way up to see my mum. It didn't. In fact, I'm not even sure the route travels over the North Sea. Ah, hormones have a lot to answer for.

Errrr2012 · 06/10/2014 11:44

Alright everyone? Just checking in! My coping with toddler strategy today is to stay in bed and have the grandparents look after him!! Cheating I know but ongoing bp issues now mean I'm being monitored every other day. So I called in reinforcements over the weekend. Another sharp spike last night so only discharged in the early hours with higher meds. 39+1 now so I think induction is imminent really. Hope everyone else is doing ok with the bumps, babies and toddlers x x

Errrr2012 · 06/10/2014 21:27

Is anyone still there??? Xx
