Was second time just as lucky?
I know babies are a blessing and can't be timed but trying to look at 2nd baby options esp in relation to dc starting at primary schools etc
Just wondering anecdotally!

Also any difference in time between 29 and mid 39's??

DD - second cycle
Pregnancy number two (mmc) - sixth cycle
DS (still pg with him!) - literally the one and only night we DTD without protection. He was planned but we were shocked as we only DTD once before I POAS.

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 08/09/2014 23:17

Oh and dd I was 26, pg2 I was 28 and DS 28 (six months after MMC)

MrsBungle · 08/09/2014 23:18

Dc1 - first time we weren't careful (unplanned)

Dc2 - first month of trying

MrsBungle · 08/09/2014 23:18

Oh and I was 30 and 34.

Casmama · 08/09/2014 23:19

DS1 conceived when I was 29 in the first month of trying, DS2 conceived when I was 34 and also in the first month of trying. Good luck OP.

fishfingerSarnies · 08/09/2014 23:21

rightsaidfred · 08/09/2014 23:28

Stars66 · 08/09/2014 23:34

Wow some quick pregnancies here! I I took 5m for first preg which i miscarried, then another 5 months for 2nd pregnancy. So a year in all to get a healthy one.
although you weren't asking for just anyone's repliesWink

MummytoMog · 08/09/2014 23:42

Second cycle for DD at 30, first cycle for DS at 32, accidentally pregnant at 35 with DC3. And when I donated eggs, my recipient was successful too first cycle (I was 34).

salonmeblowy · 08/09/2014 23:45

DS - first month of trying, I was 26 when I conceived.
Current pregnancy - first month of trying, I was 29.

No experience of miscarriage or other problems, but also no unplanned pregnancies.

DS conceived 3rd cycle of trying at age 30.
Started ttc dc#2 when ds was 19 months. Had mmc at 11 weeks after 13 cycles of ttc age 33. Took a further 9 cycles & 2 years in total to fall pg with DD (am now 27weeks pg). I'll be 35 when she is born & ds will be 4.4. Been a long time coming!

MuscatBouschet · 09/09/2014 00:19

First cycle both times. My friend conceived first cycle but is having problems second time around. Think she's dropped into the late 30s fertility cliff. If your cycle and periods are all still exactly the same then that is a good sign.

Ifem · 09/09/2014 00:50

1st time (aged 27) - first cycle
2nd time (30) - 3 months (but had a m/c)
3rd time (31) - 3 months

WhyOWhyWouldYou · 09/09/2014 01:10

DS - the first time we werent ascareful as we should have been (unplanned).

Then got pregnant whilst using condoms as soon as we started having sex again after DS was born but miscarried.

Left it a while before trying again and it took 18 months!!!

I really dont think you can tell. Just because it was easy once doesnt mean it will be again, just as it being hard the first time doesnt mean it will the second time (i know a woman who took years to conceive first, then had her second, at full term, just under 10months after the first was born (i didnt even know it was physically possible until it happened to her))

whitechocolatestars · 09/09/2014 01:28

DC1 - first cycle at 31
DC2 - first cycle at 34 (pg now)

I appreciate we are extremely fortunate, worth noting that for at least 3 months before each conception I was watching my cycles to track ovulation dates and taking pre natal vitamins. It wasn't pure chance. Good luck.

GinIsCalling · 09/09/2014 03:36

My first I was 29, it was an accident. I just conceived my second the first month of trying - I'm 33, nearly 34. I thought it would take longer - we had planned for it to take 6 months!

Roonerspism · 09/09/2014 03:44

All mine conceived within three months. Currently pregnant at late thirties conceived first time. I did have m/c between one and two though.

My periods are regular though and genetically my family seems to have a later than average menopause. I also haven't smoked. I think these are all factors that can affect egg reserve.

Good luck!

EugenesAxe · 09/09/2014 03:51

First cycle DS (age almost 34), second cycle DD (age 35).

Lately my periods have been weird...reckon it would take me longer now unless I got really lucky. My periods until recently (39) have been like clockwork; I think Muscat is spot on. The trouble is you can't predict when things will start going odd if you have always been regular.

Missymoomum · 09/09/2014 04:38

Yes, I've been very lucky with both my pregnancies: DS was conceived 1st month of trying (I was 30) and DD was also conceived 1st month of trying (I was 32). Good luck!!!

HeyMicky · 09/09/2014 04:53

DD - 5th cycle
DC2 - 2nd cycle

Went straight to OPKs this time, though

Shahsham · 09/09/2014 05:05

First month of trying both times aged 28 and 31.

Both times I kept an eye on my fertility cycle (nothing posh just noting CM really and calculating my average cycle and so ovulation window). Even so we were surprised both times. DS1 cos we'd thought it'd take longer, DS2 cos we were both knackered, unfit shells of our former selves after 2 years of sleep deprivation with DS1 Grin

Crazeeladee · 09/09/2014 05:18

DD1 aged 26, 1st month of trying,
DD2, aged 32, 3 years of trying, including fertility investigations and treatment and 1 mc

weebairn · 09/09/2014 05:39

Dc1 aged 32- 5 months after coming off pill
Dc2 aged 34- first cycle after coil out

No fertility tracking but do generally have sex every day/ every other day.

Feel very fortunate.

Very hard to predict, I have had friends who found conceiving 1st time much quicker and vice versa.

BikeRunSki · 09/09/2014 05:44

Ds - 37 - 2nd cycle ( might have missed ovulation on first)
Dd - 40 - first cycle
