squiz is raised heartbeat something to worry about coz I get it all the time Hmm and palpitations I mentioned it at booking and she didn't take much notice so I have been trying to ignore it bit I've been breathless easily for about 6 weeks now too Hmm should I mention this stuff next week?

ilovechops · 10/09/2014 20:32

squiz and baby I have raised heart rate and breathlessness too...have done since about 6 wks. I also mentioned at booking and midwife seemed unconcerned. Today I was exhausted just walking back from the trai station (small incline) with one bag of shopping. By exhausted I mean had to slow down to catch breath. I'm fit and I've out on only 4lb at 12 wks so am assuming it's not the weight gain!! Is it normal? I can't remember feeling like this first time around!

squizita · 10/09/2014 21:09

No Baby it's normal. But my GP stupidly forgot my anxiety and ran through the thyroid symptom list for a not pregnant hyper or hypo person not a pregnant person. Our hormones and metabolism ARE stretched regardless! :)

squizita · 10/09/2014 21:11

Chops quite normal! My mw and hospital Dr said at much. I am just being paranoid.
Plus my rushing heart responds to yoga... If it were clinical I wouldn't be able to do that!

Cakebaker35 · 10/09/2014 21:29

internet well done on making it through today and I so hope you get some answers next Friday x

As for palpitations etc my mw said it's common and often to do with your body coping with pumping the extra blood you produce while pregnant being pumped around. If you get your bp checked and it's fine then nothing to worry about.

Saw physio today for sciatica and hips, great session, very thorough and lots of 'homework' plus follow up session in 3 weeks. I'm feeling hopeful as physio really helped last time. Highly recommend asking for a referral if anyone's in the same boat.

tannyLoo · 10/09/2014 21:34

Thanks alb, hope things start to move along now!

Baby, me too, but it is perfectly normal. Your heart is growing (!) and it's working much harder to pump the blood around your uterus. I have a resting pulse of 100bpm at the moment! Sometimes I can feel it in my teeth, ick!

This is also what causes the breathlessness and tiredness.

We have amazing (if slightly freakish) bodies!

Babytinx11 · 10/09/2014 21:54

It all makes sense now Smile thanks guys I hadn't really thought about it since booking other than the odd annoyed moment about it I can't believe how big I am for 15+3 and my back omg just ouch plus poor DH is currently spending his nights freezing his butt off because I am too hot the joys eh?

OneLittleToddleTerror · 10/09/2014 22:00

internet is the consultant for recurrent miscarriages? Hopefully you can find the answers you need. Take care and wish you all the best on coming on board here again soon.

squizita I'm having palpitations and tiredness. They are definitely late pregnancy symptoms. My midwife says if I'm getting palpitations at least once a day, then I should see my GP. But you are already seeing your GP. baby and chops I think both palpitations and breathlessness are common though I didn't get palpitations until maybe 36 or 37 weeks. Still not breathlessness. But if your midwife aren't concerned, I think it must be normal enough?

alb that looks like a good sign with the mucus plug. Hopefully labour will start properly for you soon.

I had my 38 week appointment today. The midwife is happy with the growth and also heard baby heart beat. She has booked me for my next appointment at 40+5. She said probably the other midwife will do a sweep in that appointment! It all seems so close to the end now.

Alb1 · 10/09/2014 23:25

Does anyone no if it's normal for the show to turn into just bright red mucas? I no it's a bloody show but it's still alarming seeing blood after so long (sorry for the tmi again)

Not long now one hopefully you won't make it to that next appointment!

Iv had palpatations on and off for months aswell and noones seemed concerned about it.

Glad you had a good physio appointment cake

fedupofrainydays · 11/09/2014 06:45

Yes alb some people have loads of blood in their show so that's normal I think

Glad there is talk of palpitations as have had this so badly this week (am 35 weeks) and was sure it was because I've been so stressed and anxious this week but now perhaps I'm just pregnant.

I'm worried about bump size today - am sure I was much bigger with ds. I know I have 4 weeks to go still but I don't actually feel that big compared to last time (thighs a different matter). Hope baby is ok.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 11/09/2014 07:25

alb are you still bleeding? I remember I had quite a lot of blood coloured mucus last time. But if it's actual bleeding, you should ring the labour ward as it could be serious. And if you are just concerned, give them a ring still and they can explain what's normal or not.

fedup do you have fundal height measurements in your notes? If it's within 3cm of your gestation week it's normal. (So 35 weeks should measure between 32-38cm). You had an appt at 34 weeks isn't it?

Mine was on the small side and I was referred to a growth scan. The scan showed the baby is fine but tracking 10% in size. The MW is now using just consistent growth since last time, basing it on the smaller measurement.

fedupofrainydays · 11/09/2014 07:46

Yes, I was 33 at my 34 weeks appointment so in range. But just don't feel that big this time. Gp appt on Tuesday for 36 week check so will see then too - assuming they measure you like mw does.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 11/09/2014 08:01

fedup you might have measured 37cm last time Smile. Then it will definitely feel small. Don't worry it sounds you are bang in the middle normal!

squizita · 11/09/2014 09:10

Alb my mw said blood in the mucus, even a lot, ok. Blood as in liquid blood, give her a ring. Hope that helps! She said usually it's no cause for alarm but may mean no water birth or whatever because they'll monitor you. :) Which happens half the time anyway.

squizita · 11/09/2014 09:11

Fedup the measuring thing can be way out. I had that scare where it looked like baby had shrunk 7cm!! Turned out nothing of the sort. She was just squatting upside down! So shorter.

Alb1 · 11/09/2014 11:42

The bloody discharge stopped last night not long after. Got the midwife to come round and do another sweep this morning and had a lot more show since, still feel fine tho

silverine · 11/09/2014 11:59

Hi all!
Nothing to report here... post-12 week scan period is so boring, isn't it... 15+2 today, counting the days to next Thursday for my cardiac scan.
internet so so sorry for your loss... hope you get some answers and a strategy in place and the next pg is a sticky one for you! I'm sure your ds' s first few days at school will keep you occupied.
alb can't believe you're still here! Hope labour is not too far off for you. Have you got induction date set?
cuppa good to hear you're feeling better. Try to take it a bit easy and not stress so much. X

squizita · 11/09/2014 15:16

Another wave here.
Still waiting, had some mighty old Braxton Hicks but nothing more. Midwife tomorrow, will get her to check everything. Hope it's not the one who triggered the panic stations last time (which was totally NOT panic stations at all: she failed to account for baby's head being 3/5ths engaged and her legs being in a squat position when measuring). I was wondering whether becuase I am yellow team she is uneasy and slightly wants someone to bump me back to the labour ward..?

fedupofrainydays · 11/09/2014 22:00

Thanks for the thoughts re size. Just feel way smaller! Still can't shift my fat arse easily off the sofa though Blush

alb hope it happens for you soon!

squiz hope no more unnecessary panic stations

Psmith83 · 11/09/2014 22:36

Hi all,
Have been keeping up with everyone's news, but lurking a bit.

Had a scan today- was petrified and hyperventilating at one point. Saw a heartbeat (!)and am measuring for 7-8 weeks. So relieved after molar and miscarriage. 1st baby I've managed to keep inside me for this long. So relieved I'm not growing weird cancerous tissue.

The dildo cam hurt a bit- she had to thrust to get a good look- she said the baby was quite high up. Problem is, when I wiped there's blood in my cervical mucus. Anyone else have this? Hoping it's because my cervix was scratched a bit. Shock Any reassurance or advice would be welcome, this is the first blood I've seen in this pregnancy.

soph123kay · 11/09/2014 23:22

i wondered if any body could help me. i had a chemical pregnancy on the 11/08 after witch i tested negative on pg test on the 05/09 i tested positive on home pg test i went to dr and gave a sample he phoned me bck today and said test was negative i did 4 home tests all positive. dr said im definitely not pregnant and its just hormones from miscarriage even tho ive tested negative after mc, could the dr be wrong. it was a urine test dr done and not first urine of the day . after mc all my symptoms went now there back sore boobs . nausea heightened smell xx

fedupofrainydays · 12/09/2014 06:58

Hi soph what hpt's are you using? I would get a well known one like a first reaponse then take it back to the doctors. Or go back to him with FMU. I would say that it's unusual after a chemical (very early loss) to still have hormone in your system a month later. Bodies can get pretty messed up though so don't want to say he's wrong. Assume you didn't have a scan?

fedupofrainydays · 12/09/2014 07:00

Hi psmith
Glad to hear about scan! That's great!
Yes the willycam could dislodge a bit of blood / her roughness could have caused it. Is it red or dark in colour? If you are worried I would call the EPU back and tell them.

soph123kay · 12/09/2014 07:07

i used tesco home brand. he hasnt sent me for scan he just said no ur definatly not pregnant. x

OneLittleToddleTerror · 12/09/2014 07:22

soph the scan would be done after your chemical pregnancy. Did they say what symptoms you should be getting? Were you in EPU? Sorry I don't know much about chemical pregnancies at all. I had bleeding for MCs so they told me to look for bleeding to stop. I was not offered any scans for either MC nor my subsequent pregnancies until 12 weeks.

If you are to do it by the books, then book in for a 12 weeks MW appointment using your chemical pregnancy as last known period? Can you try self referral to EPU. It depends on area if you can get appointments. In mine you can't as the hospital is very very busy. Even after 2 MCs is not enough to be referred. (The magic number is 3 and also been referred for RMC).
