secur glad too hear you and db are ok now, few more weeks cooking time.

I went for a wee earlier and it didn't seem to stop I seemed to be sat here for ages, I was at a friends house at the time and when i came out they all said " Are you sure your waters haven't gone!!" Hope not keep telling db has to wait atleast until daddy gets home. If like DD then I could have number 2 next week. I think I am all ready as far as things for the babs goes, but i need to get things for me nursing bras and tops. One of my nursing jama tops has dissapeared so will have to tear bedroom apart to find it. Secur hope you find your dress.
cathincait glad to hear DH is a bit better and that family are helping you out.
I decided to walk/waddle to school to get DD (only 10-15min walk) I feel knackered now!! It is comical at the scholl as there are 23 children in her class and 7 of the mothers (including me) are pregnant. (The others are all due between August and dec) Talk about baby boom.
Must go got to get DD ready for taekwondo.

monkeygirl · 10/05/2004 21:41

Poor you Secur, glad you are ok - you definitely must be the most prepared of us all now (apart from THAT dress of course).

I'm definitely having lots of pain in my minnie as someone here called it. And Skara I'm still going to challenge you for bitch mother/wife of the year. Today I even took to hiding in the loo occasionally to stop me shouting at my poor dd. As for dh I am just not speaking to him tonight after yet another 'just one drink after work' session (when is it ever just one drink), without bothering to tell me when he was going to be home.

I'm also feeling panicky about something going wrong - watching the live c-section on C5 is not helping to calm me as so far it is just making me terrified that I'll have to have one. Aaaargh!!!

cathncait · 11/05/2004 05:20

Wow Secur, am glad to hear you're all ok again - def a bit early for your db to arrive!
I am due on the 13th June - praying to go early...yeh right (dd was 13 days late then induced anyway!)And 99% sure its another girl.

Cavy · 11/05/2004 14:42

Hi everyone -- don't know if I've had posterior babies or not... I guess you definitely know if you had one??? Probably not... I felt the contrax everywhere, front and back, boobs to knees both times, suppose that's not much help. Secur, I really hope you aren't first, I was only teasing! Whoever asked what BH are like, I think they range from just a sort of tightness in your bump to as bad as menstral aches and abdominal cramps.

I feel like it could happen to me anyday, now.

Cavy · 11/05/2004 14:43

Oh, forgot to add, I just want to sleep by myself nowadays, too!

Hi all, not much happening, period pain cramps are getting worse as are the pains in my groin area, presumikng this is ligaments stretching, getting really painful to walk as day goes on. i think DH will have to think again when he comes home on sat as he has his hopes up for some passion!!!. Hve warned him it will probably won't be till i get out to cyprus now. Think as it has been so long may be painful and might start things of......shame it wasn't a week or two later that he will be home

Quick question, if my fundal height is measuring two weeks ahead does this increase chances of baby coming earlier, as I am 35weeks on thurs but fundal measuring 37 wks.?

Glad to hear everyone seems to be OK.
Take care all

karen01 · 11/05/2004 19:41

I have just measured my waist and i am measuring 43 inches, over my boobs is 45inches and under boobs is 39 inches. This is the first time i have done the measurements since been pregnant as said previously i was faily big (size16-18) before so not to bothered, hopefully alot will go when babs arrives.

monkeygirl · 11/05/2004 22:28

Cathncait - do you always get up so early?? How's your dh?

Karen - I know there's been threads on MN before about sex in pregnancy and I'm definitely in the oooh no camp, especially in the 3rd trimester. I actually don't think the bed would take it anyway, with my sumo figure! My pains were worse this morning but funnily enough I did actually feel better after spending a few hours in the park with dd, even though I was lifting and catching her.

I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think fundal height can predict if babe is going to come early, sadly. Big or small, they come when they're ready and mostly not because of curries/pineapple/sex/nipple tweaking etc etc. Not that that will stop me trying some of those things! I must admit though that first time round I did go into labour the day after I had a curry.

BTW are we all 2nd/3rd/4th time mums on this June thread?

I'm seeing the mw from hell tomorrow to confirm db's position. Can't wait to hear what her put down will be this time. I'm sure she will be chuffed with my new sausage fingers as she seems to hate to see me doing ok so far.

Take care all.

scampadoodle · 11/05/2004 22:57

Hi there... I finished work on Friday hurrah hurrah. Dh took ds to my PIL's up north overnight yesterday. Once I knew they'd arrived safely & had had a good sniff of ds's worn pjs (i know, I'm daft) I had a lovely evening - met my best friend for supper in town then had a lovely, uniterrupted night's sleep - until a car alarm went off every half hour from 5.30 grr. I ironed for 1.5 hrs in the morning & did loads of sorting out in what is to be db's room. Felt fine. Spent 1.5 hrs taking ds to the shops once he got back & was shattered within 5 minutes...
Past couple of days have had bad pain in my pubic bone (is this SPD?) also my pelvis generally giving me gyp; makes it very hard to walk. DH off work tomorrow so we're getting stuff down from the loft (baby clothes, buggy) & going to Ikea (god help us). Unaccompanied by ds though thank god.
Karen, you must be counting the hours til your dh gets home. I think you are a star coping on your own all this time.

Hi all.
Congrats on finishing work Scampdoodle. What a great feeling that is. Hopefully you will be able to enjoy some relax time before db born.
Monkeygirl - I actually don't get up that early EVER if I can help it. I am in Australia so am actually posting late afternoon or evening here. Although I do have some disturbing memories of dd waking at 5-5.30am for several months and refusing to go back to sleep - hopefully this baby is more civilised (fat chance! ).
Secur - I'm guessing the weight to be 7lbs 8 - just a little bigger than dd.
I seem to be having brackston hicks (sp?) contractions quite often now - sometimes they're a little painful. Does this mean I'm close now? Hardly noticed them at all last time.

cathncait · 12/05/2004 08:24

Actually ...must post around lunch time usually since I look at the time on my post now and see thats its now around 8.20am there. Its 3.20pm here. Its all that adding up numbers that messes me up!

cathncait · 12/05/2004 11:19

Sorry, got a brain like aa sieve! Also meant to say that dh is doing ok. He has some good days and some bad days but overall it could be a lot worse. Some people with chronic fatigue find it difficult to do anything at all - dh can still work (he teaches music so its not too physically demanding ). He has been referred to a hospital outpatient clinic for chronic fatigue which may help - you never know. It will take a while to get an appointment though I shouuld imagine, maybe a month or 2. Thanks for asking monkeygirl, I appreciate it.
Sorry for suddenly taking over the whole thread everyone

monkeygirl · 12/05/2004 12:27

Cathncait - it has never registered in my tiny brain that you live in Australia - so sorry. Are you actually an Aussie? I'm glad your dh is not completely incapacitated, although it must be very difficult for you both. I hada a friend who had something similar and although it did last a long time (over a year) she did make a full recovery, so fingers crossed.

SD - can I call you a lady of leisure now How old is your ds? Is he at nursery/school? Don't know about you but Cbeebies and Nick Jr are still my best friends at the moment.

I saw my mw today and she was very dismissive of all my aches and pains and just said, oh of course it's just the weight. BP still the same and urine clear. DB is cephalic (sp??)and at about station 4/5 she reckons so he's on the way down! God but I'm a terrible 'glass half-empty' type person and am thinking this pregnancy is on the whole going too well so far so what's going to go wrong? Well at least I now feel that I'm in the home straight...must wash those baby clothes and get some nursing bras now.

karen01 · 12/05/2004 12:53

Monkeygirl- I think we are all 2nd+++ time mums on the june thread.

My friend found a stethascope (sp) in her cupboard this morning so we have been having a giggle tying to listen to babs heart beat v.difficult, managed to hear it faintly then DB moved.

Only 3 more sleeps then DH home, mind you have to pick him up 7am for heathrow so realy it is 2.5sleeps

I have tried feeling to see if i can tell the difference from head and bum but I can't. did find DB feet the other night I amused myself for 5mins pressing them so he kicked but then DB moved spoiling mammies fun. Db still seems to switching positions thought babs would have been to big now.
sorry about spelling can't seem to spell anymore!!
going to tidy DD bedroom!! again.

monkeygirl · 12/05/2004 13:58

karen - forgot to ask how are your pains? As I said in my last post my mw was very dismissive of them so hope you're feeling more relaxed about it all. I can definitely make out the bum of db but nothing else sadly. He's one hell of a squirmer though and my mw said today they could still move until 38 weeks so keep on those hands and knees!

I'm glad you're so looking forward to seeing your dh. I'm on the verge of punching mine which with my extra weight would really hurt him. Grrrr...

Gomez · 12/05/2004 15:58

Afternoon all - I have just had the most laziest day ever. Dropped DD at Nursery this morning, came home thought, 'Oh think I will have a wee nap.' and then woke up at 3.05!!! Thanks goodness PsIL were picking DD up from Nursery. Just had a yummy lunch and feel 200% better than I did this morning! DH back from travelling tonight and I am pleased that I might be able to stay awake long enough to converse

Karen - you must be sooooo excited now. And sound positively slyth like from those measurements of yours.

I am still getting bigger, young children run away in terror as I approach and I can see other women looking and then quickly glancing away with a look of extreme sympathy on their faces. Feet, legs, hands, wrists all retaining much water but BP and urine fine so just the heat and my size I think.

Cathncait - I too hadn't realised you were in Oz. Sorry! How is your DH? Are you thinking about any alternative treatment for his fatigue? As for BH I wasn't really aware of them first time around but think I am getting a fair few this time from everyone's descriptions.

Can't remember who asked (sorry, how rude) but it isn't really SPD I have (thank goodness) but a previous coccyx injury means my sacrio illiac joint is out of alignment which then got worse with PG. I don't have the pain at the front or 'splitting' feeling that I believe those with SPD get. It is still bloody sore thou but has remained fairly constant for the last month or so. Think probably because I finished work early and have been able to rest more. (Like todays marathon nap.)

Is there anyone still at work? How long to go?

I am off to see the consultant on Friday - not really expecting much to happen to be fair as this one appears to be head down and raring to go - but not engaged.

Take care all and Secur keep cooking your little one for a wee bit longer. Have you found your dress?

Cheers

karen01 · 12/05/2004 16:47

Mokeygirl- the pains are worse on a night. After walking they are quite painful too. I am almost certain they are caused by ligamnet damaged. Some mw are so dismissive aren't they.

Gomez I may be sounding thick here but what does "slyth" mean I have even tried looking it up in the dictionary. ( how sad am I)

Think I have started nesting as can't seem to relax if i know somewhere in the house needs to be tidied, I want everything done. Think it is so if anything does happen soon I know mam will be able to find everything for DD. I am going to pack hospital bag at the weekend, that will really freak DH out!!!!.

Take care all

karen01 · 12/05/2004 16:48

Oh dear didn't mean to put ligament damage meant stretching!!!

monkeygirl · 13/05/2004 14:25

Gomez - I fantasise about naps/sleeps like that you lucky thing. I've just resigned myself to the fact that since about 2/3 weeks ago my good sleeping nights are over for a long time to come. Now I wake every night when I need to turn over (which is often) or I need a wee (about 3 a night at the moment). Oh well, staying awake with a crying baby every night won't be such a shock to the system I guess, although I don't think the reality of what it's like to have a tiny baby again has really hit me yet.

karen01 · 13/05/2004 16:49

Joined the "wicked mam" school today. DD was crying within seconds of her coming out of school all due to me. I had treated her for nits last night, so I wasn't amused when she came waltzing out of school with her plaits out and hair loose. ( her hair is half way down her back). I just seen red and exploded. I did appologise straight away as felt awful and gave her a big hug. I did say that I shouldn't off lost my temper BUT she shouldn't off left her hair down. She puts her own ponytails in all the time at home. I just feel awful shouting at her for things like that as over the last year she has had a lot of changes (which I suppose I use as an excuse). But DH and I only got married last August, then we moved DD, for 4 months, told her she was going to have a brother or sister, then moved her again then DH had to leave us again so she was back at square one. Dh and i never lived together b4 we got married as he was based elsewhere, so up till last August (when she was 6 nearly 7)it had just been me and DD since her dad left when she was 18months. Hopefully once DB comes and we all move out to cyprus I can stop feeling sorry for her (and guilty) and we can all be a happy family.

Sorry don't know where that all came from it just came out as I was typing.

Hope everyone is ok.
Take care all
Hubby home in 37 hours and 15mins not that I am counting

Poor you Karen - agree with Secur in that you MUST stop beating yourself up about this - we all have these moments and some of us more than others (speaking from experience, ahem). You sound incredibly sorted considering all you've been through but hopefully it is all now approachinng a happy ending for all of you!

Take care
