Great news gandt
amicable I was about 23 weeks before I felt DD move

InternetFOREVER · 07/08/2014 19:17

Congratulations GandT! Wow you've gained a week too - fab way to get through the first trimester quicker!

Miss aches, pains, tiredness and sickness are all good signs! I agree that early scans don't alleviate the worry for long (but I still considered booking a 7 week one privately between my 6 and 8 weekers!) Hope you get a better nights sleep tonight... weather due to get cooler now which should hopefully lead to better sleep for everyone!

Babytinx11 · 07/08/2014 19:27

miss I still get aches and pains and I'm 10+1 my midwife said it's stretching pains if your worried though talk to some one and ask for a scan :)

Fab scan news GandT must be a huge relief :)

Not that I am counting much but 13 days until the magic 12 weeks for me it's going to feel like a long time but even though I'm constantly knicker checking and worrying I know deep down there is no reason to worry doesn't stop me though starting to get longer gaps between waves of ms but when they hit omg they wipe me out :( constantly going between worrying that my it's gone and wishing it would stop I was up for hours last night being sick and feeling nauseous while DH snored. Thankfully he got up with DS this morning which was nice.

silverine · 07/08/2014 19:28

Congrats G&T so pleased for you! What a relief! Are you having the various tests done?
My scan showed heartbeat and baby the right size, even slightly ahead (9+5 by dates but 10+4 by scan) so that was a relief given I was fearing mc and no hb. But the sonographer saw some fluid, which may indicate cystic hygroma or thickened nuchal (and chromosomal abnormalities). DH is now totally freaked baby will have downs or similar....
They will rescan again next Wednesday, when I should be over 11 weeks by scan. (My "12 week" tests and scans are not until the 26th) From what I read, it's the nuchal fold that may indicate abnormality, and even then it's just probability so need to do more tests. In other words, it's far from certain there's something wrong, right???

squizita · 07/08/2014 19:38

Silver yep, it will come out as a raised probability but even a high risk is usually 1 or 2% risk compared to 1/500 for normal. So it's a high clinical risk, but in terms of real life risk as we think of it much lower IYSWIM.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 07/08/2014 20:57

g&t so pleased for you. I'm glad you can finally relax enough to go to mothercare.

silver yes it is just one of the indicators they use for downs screening. They also check for two other markers in your blood, adding your age, they compute a probability that it might have Down's syndrome. And that is still not a certainty, just a probability. You could be carrying a fetus with chromosomal abnormality and the screening missed it. Or you could be carrying a perfectly healthy and normal one. You will be offered a diagnostic test if your risk is 1 in 150 or higher.

amicable I was told it's 23-24 weeks when you will definitely feel movement. And 28 when you will definitely feel constant and regular ones. Some people are obviously going to be earlier. I assume this figure from the consultant is when you should start getting worried.

MrsGiraffe12 · 07/08/2014 21:49

Yay for the positive scan news today :-)

As for me, pre eclampsia is behaving itself and midwife things baby is now cephalic. Still have to go for the scan on Wednesday though.

Very pissed off as DH broke the pram today, he asked me to show him how to fold it up and down and when took a turn he snapped part of the chassis which will be un fixable :-( so my silver cross 3d has gone to the scrap heap in the sky :-( luckily I found a good deal on mothercare for a graco evo, £300 for the pram, carry cot AND car seat :-) and he's laying for it too lol x

HollyBen · 07/08/2014 22:02

Glad the pre eclampsia seems to be in check mrsg. How annoying about the pram. I loved my sc freeway. Quite exciting about getting it out again. Dds mclaren buggy was handy and all that but I much prefered the silver cross

Boozle80 · 07/08/2014 22:05

Hurray for positive scan news - great news!

ilove I'm right there with you - I have nada symptoms bar feeling slightly tired but have two four year olds to contend with so that's normal! It's worrying me like mad - I'm 6+1 today, just hoping this is normal for this pregnancy and isn't anything more sinister. Not sending you fish slaps as I'm completely with you on this one!

MrsGiraffe12 · 07/08/2014 22:06

hollyben I know, I was so annoyed I nearly cried (hormones and all that). Especially as we kept it for 4 years of DS not using it, for it to break 21 days before my c section! Urgh x

OneLittleToddleTerror · 07/08/2014 22:13

mrsg that's very good news with the pre-eclampsia. How on earth can your husband break a pram [shocked]. I'd be so angry if mine did it. By the way I had a very lazy day today. All I managed wa clean the travel system. I used baby wipes all over the frame and the basket underneath. Took the hood off and put it through the washing machine. Just need DH to get into the loft and take down the carry cot fabric so we can swap it back to newborn mode. After that I felt so exhausted I slept for nearly 2 hours. But it's nice I could just take an afternoon nap when I fell to needed it.

MrsGiraffe12 · 07/08/2014 22:33

onetoddler he was folding it down and instead of pulling a part up he sort of bent the chassis when pushing and there was a horrible cracking noise. Urgh. Fingers crossed the new one fits in the car, measured dimensions and it should do x

Today's the day! Good luck sea keep us posted! X

SeaSaltMill · 08/08/2014 07:36

Just came in to say the same to you happily!
I've been awake worrying for hours...hate this constant anxiety!

Happilymarried155 · 08/08/2014 07:40

I know I feel sick today but I'm positive we will both be fine! What time is yours? I have to wait until 4.30!!! X

SeaSaltMill · 08/08/2014 08:09

Oh lord I couldn't wait that long. Mines at 10. I think I'll get up and potter about soon. DH is still asleep!

My main worry is that my symptoms seem to have really dropped, whilst I know it's normal it still scares me. Sigh.

Happilymarried155 · 08/08/2014 08:23

I know!! I couldn't believe it when I saw the time!! Let me know how you get on, I'm sure it's fine though. Not long to go! X

liesal79 · 08/08/2014 08:46

Good Morning all..

Yesterday I was a big ball of worry ahead of my 20 week scan - But would you believe it - Everything is absolutely fine!
They took their time and made sure, and above all else, they told me I am having a little BOY!!! :)

Over the moon and for today - the panic can ease! Im sure it will come back but for now! YAYY!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 08/08/2014 08:47

Good luck happily and seasaltmill. All the best on today's scan.

missmakesstuff · 08/08/2014 09:05

Well, I'm out. Woke up after a very restless night to bright red blood. Can't really believe this is happening again. Dh off somewhere fir work today so can't contact him, got Dr on my own and just trying not to cry in front of her.

It's taken us over a year to get pregnant again since the last time, I can't do this again, I'm bloody 37 tomorrow.
Having a fucking coffee now because I can, know the bloody sickness and tender books is going to last for at least a week now which is the worst thing.
Good luck to you all ladies, at least I will raise your percentage of success!

MrsGiraffe12 · 08/08/2014 09:13

missmakestuff hugs to you my lovely. What a shitty time for you :-( is there anyway you could maybe get a scan to confirm what you suspect? Have you got any support in RL who can keep you company whilst DH is at work xx

OP posts:
OneLittleToddleTerror · 08/08/2014 09:19

missmakestuff take the time you need to recover. It's very hard emotionally. A lot of us has been there. When we were trying for number 2, every month I kept asking myself should I carry on. I started trying when 38 and am 39 now. Originally I made a one year limit on trying. Then one year passed and I still was not pregnant (not counting the MCs). I asked myself what if I gave up now. Will I regret it when I am older. The answer was always yes, I'll regret it. That kept me going and going because I wanted to tell myself I've tried my best. My second target was moved to having baby born before I turned 40. I nearly missed that target as the due date for my bean is September and I will turn 40 in October. At the time, I was thinking maybe I'll try until baby born before I turn 41. I was so down about the whole TTC that I dropped out of the TTC while MC thread, and didn't join on this one until pass my 12 week scan.

I know what I say probably doesn't help you with your situation. But just letting you know that many other women do share the same despair over TTC.

Take care of yourself.

OneLittleToddleTerror · 08/08/2014 09:20

But agree with mrsg that you should try and see if you can get a scan. There are some here that has red blood but is still pregnant.

squizita · 08/08/2014 09:43

Miss :( Do ask your GP for a scan. Several people on this thread, including me, have had bleeds which were cervical or somewhere else in their uterus so it is important to request 48hr bloods and a scan to confirm whether it is what you suspect.

Babytinx11 · 08/08/2014 10:07

miss so sorry Hun but I agree with the others try and get a scan to confirm it is possible to bleed and have a healthy pregnancy either way will be thinking of you and sending lots of hugs and hand holding
