Apologies for the double post btw but I totally agree with feather re making a complaint about the sonographer, rp. So glad everything's okay, but you shouldn't have had to deal with the stress of a scare like that Flowers

RevoltingPeasant · 02/10/2014 13:02

Hi Kitten - I started antenatal yoga and pilates recently and those help with the aches and pains. You might find them useful too?

I wouldn't worry about weight loss. As I am at greater risk of pre-eclampsia I weight myself regularly and went from 65 kg at 8 weeks to 66.7kg at 19 - i.e., only putting on about 3lbs or so! Although my body shape has changed significantly.

Then from about 20 w I've started to gain and I'm up above 67 now and seem to be climbing steadily, like about a half-pound to a pound every week or so. So I reckon you don't really 'need' to gain weight during the first half as long as your baby is growing - and you'll find out in 8 days - eek!

Feather thanks for the support :) DH and I have decided not to complain on the grounds that we want to conserve energy, and also I am a bit nervy about hospital staff anyway and I don't want to feel like the antenatal ward is a place where I've made a complaint or 'been difficult'. It makes sense in my head anyhow! But I did say to the consultant that I thought it wasn't great and gave the sonographer's name, so I'm hoping he gets an unofficial quiet word.

I will refuse to see him again at the 33 week scan, though, if he is on that day.

Bunny, take courage - you are so nearly there! Flowers though, it must be so uncomfy and you must feel so impatient! It's only days now though.

ladybunnikins · 02/10/2014 17:57

Good luck Bunny! I hope it all goes smoothly.
That must be reassuring RP, sorry you got such poor service before.
Kitten I'm also sleeping badly and also now have vivid dreams. I lost about 4 lbs but I think I've put that on back on this week now that I suddenly have an appetite again!
My scan is next Thursday, just had an NHS text reminding me about an appointment I have on Monday which I didn't know about and I have no idea what it's for! Of course, the phone number on the text isn't being answered so I'll have to try tomorrow and see if I can get cover for work on Monday at such short notice.

RevoltingPeasant · 02/10/2014 21:12

Lady with you on the dreams! I had one the other night where I was in the antenatal clinic reading a slip of paper that said "proteinuria" and I kept trying to stop reading it and couldn't! It was boring and exhausting Confused

FeatherFeather11 · 03/10/2014 06:47

lady I'd imagine your appointment on Monday is your 'booking in' meeting with your midwife if you haven't had one already?

With you all on the dreams! Some crazy ones still going on 22 weeks in!

On the weight loss/gain - I lost 5lbs in the first three months and have now put on 8lbs (!!!) - the last time I checked was before holiday and I'm pretty sure I'll have porked up even more in the last two weeks. Bit anxious about getting too fat while pregnant. I know it's a horrible and vain thing to say, but I'm partial to a bit if tubby-ness and fear that I could get really big and not be able to shift it after the baby arrives. Eeek!

ladybunnikins · 03/10/2014 08:57

Feather I had my booking appointment 3 weeks ago. Just found out it's a clinic appt for people who've had IVF or are expecting twins. Since this was natural it seems a bit pointless but if it means extra care then I'll go along with it, changed the date though, Monday is too short notice for work when we are struggling to cover the rota. I know we are entitled to time off for antenatal visits but I don't want to take the piss!

Bunnygirlie · 04/10/2014 11:00

Thanks ladies, I'm now overdue Sad

Hope you are all well x

Aw Bunny :( how are you feeling?

Does it help to think that all through pg we worry about miscarriage, prematurity etc and at least you no longer have that to worry about?

But it must be so frustrating!

Bunnygirlie · 05/10/2014 21:18

Hey RP I'm ok!

Just worried about the pain and the tearing and the ripping and the blood Wink

FeatherFeather11 · 06/10/2014 07:35

Ah, bunny, you will be fine! I say that knowing I have months to go. Am sure I'll be quaking around due date. Have you hit the raspberry leaf tea yet?

How is everyone else? Seems quiet in here!

We got back from hols yesterday and I'm shocked by how cold it is already. It's properly autumnal! Once again, I find myself without clothes that fit, so may have to go a spot of shopping soon.

Back to work after two blissful weeks. Happy Monday all!

PoppySeedBun · 06/10/2014 13:33

An update for those not on Facebook - Bunny is off and running! She's already 5cm as of 12:30 and in hospital. Not long now Grin

ladybunnikins · 06/10/2014 15:06

Good luck Bunny, sounds like you're off to a good start, hope it continues smoothly!

FeatherFeather11 · 06/10/2014 16:48

Gooooo bunny! xx

ladybunnikins · 06/10/2014 21:31

Last night's vivid dream: I dreamt that Dec from Ant and Dec might be the father of my baby!

RevoltingPeasant · 06/10/2014 23:11

That is surely better than giving birth to one of them?

Anyhow, go Bunny go!!

PuppyMummy · 07/10/2014 07:47

bunny hopefully you have a lovely baby bunny by now.

sending relaxed and speedy birthing thoughts!

CatsCantFlyFast · 07/10/2014 15:03

Baby bunny (a boy) was born this morning

ladybunnikins · 07/10/2014 15:34

Yay, congratulations! Well deserved after a long wait. Have you seen the ICSI pixie baby gros you can get?

CatsCantFlyFast · 07/10/2014 16:37

We are down to 2 pregnant berries now on Facebook as everybody else has a baby and is too knackered to keep up on mn. Please come and join us over there - even if you're not on facebook I can make you a fake Facebook login and name. You can try it and go away again if you don't like it!
Anyway if you pm me I can add you to the Facebook group. It's totally private so nobody can see you're a member of it or that it even exists, and they can't see what you post.
It'd be great to have you so the berries carry on in one place iykwim. And you might just find it helpful for buying baby stuff and advice and support and middle of the night chats!

yorkiebilb · 07/10/2014 17:44

Yes please join us on FB if you fancy it! I've found it really helpful to ask people who have been through it their advice on what to buy and also what's normal during pg as between them they've pretty much covered it all!

I know I'm an early bird but just wanted to say good luck to lady and kitten for your scans this week.

How's everyone else doing? x

Snowlily · 07/10/2014 18:53

Hello lovely berries, could I join you please? I've followed and posted in the berries ttc#1 earlier in the year when we began undergoing fertility tests (began ttc Dec'12), anyway long story short is we've been through IVF over the summer and amazingly it worked :) I'm 10 wks on Thursday. I've been quietly dangling off the ladder to the chopper waiting to pluck up the courage to join you. We've had our IVF 8 week scan (all good thank goodness) & been discharged from the fertility clinic back into the care of local GP, midwife etc.& waiting for first midwife appointment, 12 week scan etc. whilst keeping everything crossed (and trying not to read too much into how many magpies we see!) xxx

ladybunnikins · 07/10/2014 19:24

Thanks Yorkie and congratulations Snowlily, I've also been counting magpies since TTC, if I only see one I hunt for a second and count it as number 2 even if it's some way down the road!

RevoltingPeasant · 07/10/2014 20:48

congrats to Bunny!!!

Hi Snow! Congrats!! When is your 12 w scan?

Soooo tired ATM. I'm finding I get to 6pm and just crash and need to leave work.

I can't believe I will be 24w next week! For some reason that feels like a milestone.

How is everyone else? Feather, Win?

FeatherFeather11 · 07/10/2014 21:29

Congratulations bunny!!! How sweet!

Welcome and congrats snow! Brilliant news!

merk still fearful of the fb group but I'm working up to it - promise. Wink

rp exhausted is an understatement. I get to 2pm and start jonesing for a nap under my desk. Can't believe 24w next week either. We're well past the half way mark now.

Question re baby movement: is anyone else feeling movement quite low down? Suspect baby feather keeps kicking me in the bladder so I keep nearly weeing myself. Is that normal? Blush

Snowlily · 07/10/2014 22:13

Thanks for the welcome guys, and glad it's not just us on the magpie counting front, lol and yes lady I'd definitely count one a little way up the road as being magpie no.2!;) Doesn't the ttc malarky and pregnancy make us do/think/obsess about odd things!? I don't have a date for our 12 week scan yet RP I'm seeing the midwife next week for my first appointment (a little late as we were away on hols when she rang with an appointment) so hopefully she can tell me when it is.
Congratulations to bunny lovely news & hope everyone else is doing ok xx
