I feel the same as you Fennel. We have a nice day today, that helps!
Hi Laurakim!
Goodluck everyone! Is anyone progressing?

Fennel · 31/03/2004 10:13

yes it's another lovely sunny day here in Manchester and am about to buy a novel ("bad mother's handbook", has anyone read it?) and get the swing seat out in the garden.

life could be worse.

I was just thinking that maybe I will settle into this terminal pregnancy thing and enjoy the experience of being able to do very little. Then, knowing my luck baby will decide to stick it's head out!!!
Oh well! I guess it will be quiet today if we are all outside.
Have a good day :0

Fennel · 31/03/2004 10:22

on the other hand, sitting on the swing seat with new novel AND new baby would be preferable....

Ohhhh Fennel and I was really beginning to relax. Don't get me started again!
They say it's going break this week and rain all weekend!! Dh and I are meeting up at luchtime to buy a lawnmower - exciting!

Lesley76 · 31/03/2004 10:54

Morning all, glad to hear we are all doing better today. Welcome Laura kim.

I have no signs of anything. Will see what GP says at antenatal this afternoon as i'm now 37+4, baby has stopped moving around ( big changes of position i mean) and seems to be still transverse, as far as i can tell. I m assuming that if the baby was head down i could feel it, is that correct? i don't just mean i could feel it from the outside. I assume i would have that feeling of something stuck between your legs, so you need to waddle ( sorry to put it so inelegantly)? I can walk normally and even go all night without getting up to pee!!

I have a big hard lump on my waist level on left, hard bit in middle, a big soft lump to right of belly button and wee kicking feeet around the corner!! Bit worried this means a c section for me. Any advice?

Have more workmen in the house today, laying tiles on bathroom floor. Fortunatly we have another loo......!!! If plumber comes as promised ( ho ho ho) on Thurs we shoudl have working bathroom by weekend, which would be handy. Then if we can just spend the weeked sorting out baby's room and DSs room we will nearly be organised(famous last words)! So as you can see its simply not possible for this baby to come until next week at the earliest.

So its no sitting in the garden for me today. Though I'm not really very good at sitting anyway.Enjoy it those of you who can!!!

Lesley76 · 31/03/2004 10:58

OOOOHH mrs D, Your Dh IS geting nervous!! That's twice he has seen you at lunchtime. Glad to hear he has finally got the idea. Now, a lawnmower...... another thing to add to my list of things to do before the birth

M2T · 31/03/2004 11:13

Lesley - You wouldn't necessarily feel the head between your legs.... and that usually only happens when the head engages fully in your pelvis. From your description it sounds like your baby is head down with its back to your left..... don't worry too much. If you baby was transverse the MW would most certainly have flagged that as a bit of a problem.
And count yourself VERY lucky that you don't have to get up through the night to pee..... I'm 22 wks I get up at least twice!

Come on you lot! ONE Graduate??? You can do better than that!

MrsDoolittle · 31/03/2004 11:32

My baby's head is fully enagaged and I am 2cm dilated since last week (haven't checked since then), I am not waddling, neither did Udar. However, I do seem to spend an awful lot of time on the toilet for both reasons. Sometimes I think I am desperate for the tiolet and I only produce an egg cups worth, and sometimes i think I am desperate for a No.2 and nothing happens!! All normal apparently.
Yes Lesley, I think you are right. it might finally beginning to sink in with dh!!

laurakim · 31/03/2004 11:53

Yes Fennel, my first was also a caesar

But this pregnancy is TOTALLY different to the first I am carrying MUCH bigger and have aches and pains ALL OVER I cant seem to get comfortable at night and need to wee ALL THE TIME

I can not wait for the 28 April...I am counting the seconds

emmagee · 31/03/2004 14:05

Saw the m'wife today and decided not to ask for an examination - even if she told me I was 2-3 cm's dilated it could stay that way for weeks. She said that the head is really far down though which is a good sign, and explains why I can feel its hiccups both on the front of my belly and on my pelvic floor! Another glorious sunny day, my youngest and I had lunch on the patio, then a little light gardening, now there's just the washing to hang out, hoovering, sweep the floor...................

LucyJones · 31/03/2004 14:24

Hi everyone - isn't it nice that the sun has come out to say hello! Nothing new to report here, got my hospital appt tomorrow so will see if the head is engaged and now I can sig off like this....
40 + 1 - sadly I am very excited baout that

dolbear · 31/03/2004 14:25

dolbear · 31/03/2004 14:37

oh yes mini eggs rule man !
go v well with crunchy nut cornflakes

MrsDoolittle · 31/03/2004 14:42

Hey dolbear, Wycombe is only about 45 mins from me in Oxford!
You have got me thinking now I should have a bowl of cereal instead of chrrging out to our village shop for mini eggs.
Got the lawnmower btw. Left it in the car though as dh says not to do anything with it in my state!!

dolbear · 31/03/2004 14:57

mmm yes , I know the feeling , i am not even allowed to go to tescos and buy more than one bottle of pepsi at a time !
i swear that he should have been the woman and me the man you know

MrsDoolittle · 31/03/2004 15:04

Oh well. I have just had a bowl of bite size honey-nut shredded wheat. Better take this washing out. Hell it takes me an age to do thing these days!!!!

hewlettsdaughter · 31/03/2004 20:06

Hi all, finished work today (hurray!). Now got to write my birth plan, start getting some baby clothes ready etc etc. Dolbear, you're not far from me either (I'm in Oxford too).
Lesley, you were asking how come I didn't know I was in labour first time round. Well, I thought it was probably early labour, but my antenatal teacher had impressed upon us that we shouldn't panic when things got started and should do things like have a bath, watch a video, go to bed... anyway, my labour ended up being pretty quick and the midwife only arrived half an hour before ds was born! (there was no time to get to hospital). Hope to have a homebirth this time but will call the midwife at the first sign...

handlemecarefully · 31/03/2004 21:25

Ah no more babies yet then... although Dot1 has not been on today so who knows. I wonder how Udar is getting on...

Welcome laurakim - we'll have similarly spaced children. My dd will be 21 months when ds is born (due 19 April)

I've had no tightenings or false alarms - but I'm not too worried because with my first I didn't feel any different until the day I started in labour. There weren't any warning signs in advance....

MrsDoolittle · 31/03/2004 22:06

April 1st tomorrow, this is the month we have all spent the last 9 (or 8)waiting for! Goodluck everyone! I am due Saturday, although will probably be later than that now. Who's likely to be next? Wasn't dot1 due today?
The lawn has now been mown (or is it mowed?) by dh when he got home. It looks alot better, although needs a tidy up. Awww haven't my postings got trivial? Honey-nut shredded wheat, lawnmowers, the weather..........

Debbiethemum · 31/03/2004 23:44

Just noticed Udar has had her baby - Congratulations

mears · 31/03/2004 23:52

Missed that I think - congratulations Udar

laurakim · 01/04/2004 06:31

handlemecarful....you mentioned "tightenings"...I have been having that feeling since last night ??

Is it normal? My waters broke with my ds 3 weeks early but I dont remember feeling this before. Its like my tummy is too tight???
