Congratulations Dot1 and welcome to Dylan (and you Mrs D - posted on other thread). Hope you continue to be blissed out - I remember the tears all too well. Will be there for another couple of days

handlemecarefully · 13/04/2004 08:28

Awww - its so lovely to hear you both (Dot and Mrs Doolittle) so thrilled with your babies....and Dot, I am seriously impressed that you are enjoying breast feeding. Most mums find it painful initially. Mrs D - I remember those post birth number 2's (wince, ouch), I hope it went well

Fennel · 13/04/2004 08:34

Yes it's lovely to hear about the post-birth days, I loved those early days (am probably editing out all the tears and stresses in my memory here but they can be so blissful).

7'10 sounds an ideal weight Mrs D - congratulations again at popping her out! (am a bit obsessed by how easily babies of different sizes "pop", am overdue now and convinced the baby is putting on about 8 oz every day just to make my birth experience harder).

Mrs D I also remember the first post-birth no2, in fact it took me 4 days to work up the courage and then I could only manage it after half a bottle of red wine! that really helped (in fact it was the only way I could manage it) but don't tell the breastfeeding counsellors I said that....

Wahey!! Congratulations Dot1 and MrsD!!!

Well done to you both and glad to hear your little bundle of joy's are doing so well.

M2T · 13/04/2004 09:02

That should probably read Bundles of joy!! I'm SO stressed out after reading the build up to the birth stories!

o o o h all you april flowers, this makes very exciting reading for a nosey due-in-may visitor. I was just having a ponder about how things change on a 'due' thread when all the babies start arriving; should have thought to look here. Huge congrats to dot and mrsdoolittle and their families... makes me a little teary to read!
by the way have been thinking what it would be like to be last one left on thread. Anyone who wants to is welcome to pop in on May...

hewlettsdaughter · 13/04/2004 12:33

Cheers spots - there's a few of us around on this thread still, some of whom are past their due date, some (like me) who haven't reached theirs yet.
Suspect these threads do quieten down as the month goes on...
How is everybody today?

Fennel · 13/04/2004 14:21

I feel, if not yet the "last on thread", that it's certainly a bit lonelier on here now! Surely there must be a few people still around?

Hi everyone. Big congratulations to you Mrs D and family - hope your laid back Dh is keeping busy now!Are you surviving your mother?

Dot ? many congratulations to you and Juno & welcome home Orla. How is your DS coping? I?m so pleased that the BF is going so well for you after the birth not working out the way you planned it. Please go on posting lots of encouraging things. I am truly inspired by hearing about how stroppy you were at the hospital - I?m worried that I wont have the courage to demand what I need in the way of pain relief, information etc. Like you, I really want to get home ASAP. Hate hospitals, the noise, the food etc & haven?t been impressed by the stories I?ve heard about the postnatal care. Would much rather be home and well looked after by wonderful Dh.

We?ve now finished all the work on the house so at last I can have a rest in the afternoon when 4yo goes to nursery. Previously the house was full of workmen drilling, welding and demanding endless cups of tea. This is just as well as I?m now REALLY TIRED, despite sleeping reasonably well during the night. Is this normal or am I just being a wimp again? I find that after just a few hours (light) housework or a morning out I?m fit for nothing. Even climbing the stairs a few times leave me tired. It cant be carrying the extra weight as I?ve only put on about 1 ½ stone so I?m still just over 10 stone and 5?5?, which lots of women are non- preg. Maybe its just old age?..

Have still had no signs of imminent labour and am due this Saturday. Not one single BH, just pressure in the pelvis. Does this mean I?ll be late ? Dot and Mrs D seemed to have weeks of cramping pains etc before they saw any real action? Advice please? Fennel, EmmaG, HD, Peppergirl ? you?ve been here before?

Any news from Debbie the mum or Bluecow or Metrobaby? Weren?t they due to be induced around now? Also Dolbear is very quiet. Sorry if I?m confused or missed someone..........
