davidtennant have tried to dtd twice since we found out but both times we had to stop coz I freaked out :( not that I don't want to just terrified something is going to go wrong totally irrational I know hoping after Wednesdays scan I'll feel better or I can see poor DH having a breakdown bless him

GandTnow · 19/07/2014 11:42

Feeling truly rubbish today. Got up nice and early to make a start on a wonderful healthy breakfast for us all, was back in bed by 7 having been sick and getting a terrible headache that wont budge.

DD thought she'd cheer me up by bringing her keyboard in and showing me all the demos Smile Bless.

Not even dressed yet as too depressed that nothing is comfortable anymore. Woe is me I guess! Sorry for the moan, was just hoping that sometime this week I'd start to feel a bit better. When did others feel better? I'm 9 +4, maybe jumping the gun a bit! Grin

Happilymarried155 · 19/07/2014 12:12

I started to feel abit better yesterday and I'm on 9+6. So hopefully you might too!

I'm off for my scan now, so bloody terrified incase it's bad news. Fingers crossed!

GandTnow · 19/07/2014 12:30

Good luck Happily I hope you have a wonderful scan.

Fingers crossed on feeling better soon then - only two days to go!????

Babytinx11 · 19/07/2014 13:22

Hope your feeling better soon gandt you have my total sympathy I'm sure DS and DH think I've given up on getting dressed but my theory is I feel too crappy to do anything so I might aswell stay in my pjs at least then I am comfy while I feel rubbish.

Good luck with your scan happily hope all is good :)

KeepingTheFaith9 · 19/07/2014 15:15

Corporesarnie - our dates are very similar! I am 27 weeks today and it's just over a year since my MC - I am amazed u can tell what position ur baby is lying in - I don't have a scooby!

DTM - I have been told no sex due to low placenta - but we were having sex till up to 25 weeks with no issue - just not going mad!

Finding other ways to get our fix now - without doing the obvious which is fun actually and bringing me and DH closer - but I guess it's a personal thing.

I did find myself feeling quite sore after regular sex - ie bladder feeling bruised - but this is quite normal for me when not preg and I am the queen of urine infections which are never nice - let alone when preg!

I would say do what is comfortable - and feels right - no point in getting anxious or making urself worried post event - God us ladies have enough of that going on daily - lol!

I was at the hosp again yday. 5 hrs in total - a little bit more bleeding - so midwife ordered me to the labour ward. They couldn't find anything wrong thankfully so it's all a bit unexplained - just have to keep an eye on things.

I did get to see baby on scan though which is always a treat. She was moving around loads - waving her little arms and hands bless her.

It was a hot day; and maternity depts are very pressurized - big respect to all the teams that work there - it's a challenging job!

Anyway - enough from me - happy weekend lovely ladies
Smile

Cakebaker35 · 19/07/2014 16:07

davidt we haven't dtd at all mainly due to all this bleeding I've been having. No one has said not to but it just doesn't leave me feeling exactly in the mood! I know dh feels the same so I'm glad we are in the same page. I can see us not dtd at all due to nerves of this pregnancy!

When I was pregnant with dd, we dtd just a handful of times - I was gagging for it in the early weeks Blush but dh seemed to feel quite freaked out, the once I had a bump I lost interest and then he was interested again which was all a bit difficult!

Everyone if different so I'd go with the flow, but I can see this being the longest stretch ever without dtd for us. After I had dd I wasn't interested at all, dtd just to get it done but I wasn't back to my normal self until I stopped bf'ing at 14 months. We're both hoping that doesn't happen again.

Happilymarried155 · 19/07/2014 16:49

It went great!! I'm so relieved, measured exactly 10 weeks which is exactly right, perfect little heartbeat and was moving around. They did it in 2d and 3d and gave us a DVD of the whole scan and heartbeat. Feel like if might actually be ok now I've hit 10 weeks & everything is still going well.

Hope everyone else is ok x

GailLondon · 19/07/2014 17:01

Aw Happily that's brilliant! 10 weeks is a great milestone. Really happy for you

MrsGiraffe12 · 19/07/2014 17:26

corporesarnie no date yet for the c section. It's all dependant on if baby is still breech. But if it is, it will be around 38-39 weeks so I don't go into labour before hand.I said I'd try vbac if baby is cephalic as the consultant was lovely and explained everything, and that due to the protien and weight etc pre eclamlsia is likely so will most likely have a c section regardless x

tannyLoo · 19/07/2014 18:11

Hiya all, tending to lurk a bit at the moment but thought I'd update on here too.

Have had two scans now, both with Prof B in Coventry. First one at 4+3 to find if sac was in the right place to start heparin and prednisolone. It was a tiny empty blob, but he was happy and started me on those.

Second scan was yesterday at 6+3 and lovely foetal pole and heartbeat seen, start of umbilical cord, and measuring slightly ahead at 6+5.

All my MCs were earlier than this, and I haven't got to the heartbeat stage, so it feels like a major milestone.

I'm feeling like shit. So nauseas, and first big vom fest last night, I'm tired and the smell thing is really getting to me. The house makes me feel worse, and bloody thunderstorm scuppered my plans for a weekend camping.

All these things make me feel that this is a good pg, as with all my MCs I never felt this ill. Still, boak!

Sorry to hear of all the scares and threats. We really put ourselves through it!

Babytinx11 · 19/07/2014 19:15

Fab news happily so glad your scan went well :)
Glad things are going well tanny :)

It's always nice seeing good news makes it easier to stay positive somehow :)

I'm going to be having a really early night desperately tired and fed up of being sick hardly slept a wink last night as DH can't sleep with the fan on.

BlueStarsAtNight · 19/07/2014 20:21

Fantastic news happily, so glad everything's looking good!

baby do you have a spare room? I'd be kicking DH into there and sleeping with the fan on if I was you!!

I'm getting more and more nausea each day, just hope it stops increasing soon - it's reassuring but horrible when you feel awful but have to pretend not to! Getting really bloated and lots of cramps too which are a bit worrying but no bleeding so hopefully all ok...

Babytinx11 · 19/07/2014 20:30

blue unfortunately no I don't have a spare room but he is under threat that he will be on the sofa tonight if he turns the fan off lol it was so hot last night it was hard to breathe for once I am actually looking forward to winter not sure how much more I can take of the heat

CorporeSarnie · 19/07/2014 20:52

Good news from happily and tanny Smile.
keeping, am basing my position guestimates on where the kicks are landing (all low or to sides), where I think the placenta is from the odd tug, and how things felt with (breech) DD. I would be happy to be proved wrong, although am quite keen on elcs vs vbac, would be nice to have the choice.
mrsg, fingers crossed the PE symptoms stay away as much as possible, and that now you're on the right track to get what you want.

Alb1 · 19/07/2014 23:43

Great scan news happy and tanny

34 weeks today and just finished a very busy 11 hour shift, not been enjoying the muggy heat at all today! Lovely customer told me it was time I went on maternity leave as I just keep getting bigger and bigger... Told him I wasn't actually planning maternity leave for another 5 weeks and he very seriously commented that I would 'burst' before then, charming lol

fedupofrainydays · 20/07/2014 07:50

Ah good scan news!

tanny so pleased for you lovely - after RM it's fab to see you still here. Hopefully you will feel able to become a active, as opposed to lurking member of this thread Grin

Made my second baby purchase last night. bednest off ebay. So now have that an an ergo360. Think will also brave a buggy but everything else can wait!!! I find it so hard to buy stuff as still not confident about taking a baby home at the end of this. Agh, wish I could relax about it a bit.

fedupofrainydays · 20/07/2014 07:54

Ps. We have dtd about 3 times since being pregnant. Both too freaked out by it to be honest and happy to wait! I got frightened by the amount of ewcm type stuff I produced afterwards i totally freaked it was my mucus plug and worried for two days so we agreed not to do it again til we want to get the baby out!

Happilymarried155 · 20/07/2014 08:14

I've been to scared to dtd too and dh hasn't even asked so I get the feeling he feels the same, after years of fertility treatment we are to scared to risk anything.

I've woken up with a new positive mental attitude today that I'm going to stop worrying and start enjoying. I really don't want to spend my whole pregnancy stressing about things, the doctor told me yesterday that I have a 99.4% chance of everything being fine, so I'm stepping away from google!

tannyLoo · 20/07/2014 08:27

Thanks Fedup, it's beginning, just, to feel a bit more real...

Too sick to consider DTD at the moment, but we have averaged once a week since BFP. I want to stay close to DH, but he smells bad (clean or not) so I expect it'll taper off for a while.

Not worried about doing any damage, last time with DS we had to be a bit creative but carried on til close to EDD.

missmakesstuff · 20/07/2014 08:39

Hi all, can I join? Sitting here in shock finally got a bfp after over a year since a ms at 8 week's.
Absolutely petrified and don't really want to think about it until the scan is out of the way, going on hols in couple of hours to Costa Rica, have been looking forward to it for ages and just hope nothing happens whilst out there..

Keep getting little bursts of smiling and thinking about due date etc, then catch myself.
Going to just carry on as normal whilst away as its so early nothing I can do will make a difference either way, did the whole giving up coffee and drink straightaway last time and then felt cheated when I lost it. Only 1 day late now so such early days.

Sorry forthe brain dump!only Dh knows of course and his default setting is not to talk about it...

Brummiegirl15 · 20/07/2014 08:48

Morning all. Me and DP aren't DTD either :-(

The last time we did when I was pregnant I had an mc the following morning. Rationally I know it's totally unrelated but we can't bring ourselves to at the moment. Which makes me sad - not that I have any libido at moment!!

Am seeing docs on Wednesday so will ask then, but I can see us holding off until after 12 wk scan

Cuppachaplz · 20/07/2014 09:14

Hi everyone,
Been lurking rather than posting for last few days as feeling utterly miserable. And also crazy busy working, desperately trying to get everything done.
Will have a big thread catch up now, as not read for a couple days, so just checking in quickly.
Has anyone had movements come and go? Had regular small movements from 14 weeks, but nothing last few days (now 18w). Try not to be paranoid, but struggling as one of previous late MCs at exactly this stage... Slapping required, I feel.

Babytinx11 · 20/07/2014 09:38

Congrats in your bfp missmakestuff :)

Chin up chuppa possibly baby is just in a position where you can't feel it's movements or coz your worrying your not noticing as much if your worried though Why dont you call your midwife and have a chat with her :)

squizita · 20/07/2014 09:39

I get little bleeds (Clexane) when we DTD and I have to pop in for a check up so that has rather limited 'action' for us! Now I'm rather big too so it would be a physical feat haha!

GandT I was roughest just before it got better... bleurgh weeks 8-9, better late week 10, fine by week 13. FX your placenta takes over the same and it improves from here on.

Keeping Glad to hear that false alarm was indeed a false alarm and you got to see baby as well. :) Sounds like your hospital is clued up too, what you need at a time like this.

Happily :) Super news! What a relief.

MrsG sounds like they have a plan for you and baby to keep you both safe and well, which is the main thing.

Tanny :) Oh it's such a relief to see a little HB isn't it? And being on the meds gives a psychological boost too.

Baby Hope you got a good night sleep!

Corp I thought mine was breech based on kicks, turns out she's a puncher more than a kicker and has turned head down already. FX same for you!

Alb Just finished my last working week - work in a school now so using up my holiday (which of course is always over the summer) and switching to maternity late August. People think I 'timed that well'. Nope. DH and I were like "we have a prescription now- start trying in the new year, let's not be too bothered with contraception in the meantime cause it's Chrimbo and we're tipsy" LOL! When I explained this at the end of term do one of my colleagues looked me up and down and (jokingly) said "sounds about right for you and Mr Squiz" Grin ...I do a lot of "don't drink, keep your hand on your ha'penny" chats throughout the year in assemblies and whatnot but when the bell's gone...

Fedup OMG me too! Buying things... gotta do it, but immediately filled with superstition. Thank goodness for kind people giving babygrows and so forth or minisquiz would be quite literally naked as the day she was born the day after she's born! We ordered a travel system, bought a manual breast pump and 2 bottles and know what moses basket we want. DH is less superstitious and goes mad in the Kiddicare Sale and has purchased a tummy-time blanket, a nice breastfeeding shawl for me, some kind of angled cushion for popping baby on to nap after feeds to aid digestion rip off, muslins and a changing mat. Mind you it came to about £50 all in because of the sale, can't complain.

Hi MissMakes congrats on the BFP! Don't worry about worrying... honestly that is all any of us do before 12 weeks! :)

Waves to anyone I've not name checked!

My news: went to my 32 week appointment Friday. Explained I'd come in early because there were issues with computer errors - they were lovely about it and said where I should wait. Whereupon the 'big cheese' consultant arrives early and says he has a gap, picks up my notes and ushers me in. Check up all good, and finished before I expected to even be seen! Heard a HB, baby is kicking well. Hence my confidence to go and buy a pram. We went for an own brand Mothercare because living in London, I've heard as soon as they hit 6 months you end up much more reliant on a Maclaren type foldy as it's much easier for the buses, tube etc'. So we're doing the reverse of many and getting a basic travel system and a branded umbrella fold stroller.
Got the shopping Saturday, was going to a family lunch but 2 DSis's had a falling out so it ended up being me giving one a lift to have a bite to eat and a browse round the shops.
For those of you in the shopping phase... Kiddicare have a really ace sale on!
Right, now I have to muster up the urge to 'nest'. It is there, just losing in a fight with the urge to watch TV cookery shows and eat biscuits...
