Hi Holly - know what you mean about nerves. I would see your GP perhaps? I know that's tough but I feel safer if a HCP knows I'm pregnant for some reason - might ease the anxiety?

Quiet and Drama :) Good scan news, lovely!

Moomin I doubt there's a problem if you only have a little bump - I think it's in the 20-something-weeks phase they suggest side sleeping. Also as One says you can raise your back and sleep propped up later on - there are a few ladies at my yoga class who do this with bolsters. I haven't tried it because I sleep on my side anyway but it looks comfy.

G&T I felt incredibly washed out 1st trimester, the clinic checked my iron - so it may be worth doing as it could be fixable! The GP or even nurse can do it. No point in needless roughness when we have so many undignified things during pregnancy anyway .

Cake hope the scan is good, reassuring news.

Got in today to a bundle of baby clothes from a friend. How nice! But it's getting a bit real now.
Keep worrying about after I come off the clexane, how dangerous it is. Of course I know it's routine and far riskier to try to stay on and go into labour with runny blood... but always something to worry about eh??

OP posts:
MrsGiraffe12 · 27/06/2014 06:12

squitz no one has said anything to me about coming off the clexane for the birth?! Is this something they should have done? I haven't seen a midwife since bein on it mind you, so maybe she will at next appointment (if she's even aware I'm on it, things don't tend to get passed on well here!) x

OhTheDrama · 27/06/2014 06:43

squiz as someone who's had a massive PPH in the past, I really would feel more worried about labouring with clexane in my system. How many weeks will you be when they take you off it?

Cake hope all goes well with the scan.

HollyBen · 27/06/2014 07:48

Lovely to hear all the good scan news Smile

I bit the bullet yesterday and phoned the gp to be told she has leftSad I made an apt anyway then threw caution to the wind and got the midwife ball rolling. Have my booking apt and 12 week scan booked in in August. She kept apologising because it was so far away as I am ONLY weeks (like I don't know and haven't been obsessively monitoring my cycles for the last 9 months..) Then she offered to offered to give me the phone number for epu. I told her not to bother as I have them on speed dial having spent waaaaay too much time there in the past. Think I might phone them about an early scan as that will cover all the bases and stop me obsessing about who I should have contacted and when

squizita · 27/06/2014 08:14

MrsG I guess it would depend on the stickiness of the blood and so forth. I know in my "typical" APS situation, the norm is 32-34 weeks depending on development of the baby and likelihood to come early or late. You need at least a couple of days for it to wear off, otherwise you can't have an epidural if you need interventions and some people bleed excessively (although I understand they can counter this with a jab).

Drama it only takes 24 hours to come out of the system, but they take you off it as a precaution. But my worry is as soon as I'm off it I could develop a less efficient placenta (which is a small risk), leading to being induced early/C section ... and for me constantly checking movements paranoid my baby is starving even if all goes well. I think I'll see who I get at my appointment and if they're not one of the team leaders ask them to check with Mr Rai (he prescribed it, so presumably he decides when I come off!) if it feels very early/late. I can also always ask to be scanned regularly.

Holly sounds like your MW is helpful, which is always good news! :)

Have phoned the GPs surgery today but no appointments. I think, unless it gets worse, I'll try and hang on and tell the consultant about it next Friday. I'm six weeks today, feeling glad to be half way through first trimester, but also thinking that this is how far on I was when I had my first mc. Just wish time would speed up!

BadgersInTheSlurryLagoon · 27/06/2014 10:56

Quiet that's great news, really pleased for you.

Cake fingers crossed for the scan.

G&T I'm getting lots of dizziness too, especially if I haven't eaten anything in the last 10 minutes, but the shortness of breath and tight chest sounds like a worry. I'm 5+3 now which means I've outlasted all but one of my previous attempts. Completely with you on the time thing - I just want to get to a stage where I can have a scan, see things progressing (I hope) and maybe relax a bit...

Did have some happy news this morning though. Forces medical care is great but a bit random - you can request a doctor by name but it'll normally take a couple of weeks to see them, or you can turn up first thing in the morning, get triaged by a medical assistant and then see whichever doctor comes up. Some doctors have been in the forces all their careers and done no maternity work so there's a particular one I wanted to see that I know is lovely, but she was booked up for weeks. Phoned this morning to cancel the appointment I'd made for 15 Jul (going on holiday on 18th, need things to get going before then, was resigned to just seeing whomever) and was told that the one I wanted had a cancellation next Tues. Woop! Getting into the medical system will properly make it feel real if I make it till Tues without anything going wrong

LondonJen · 27/06/2014 11:37

Welcome Holly, glad to see the positivity with getting the ball rolling Smile

Great news Oh and Quiet! I might have to steal your OH's name choice Quiet to tease the MIL at the weekend Grin

That sounds good badgers, I do like it when things work out.

Nerdy I really feel for you, I'm sorry your DH sounds like he is carrying on as per usual. Is he any good with things dawning on him via questioning? What I mean is trying to get him to remember what it was like with his other DC's as newborns by asking questions about it? I would be really put out about the meal on my EDD. But my dp would def do something like that and not understand what I was bothered about.

GandTnow · 27/06/2014 11:38

Badger thats good news and I'm sure seeing someone that you trust will make it a bit easier.

I've just been on the phone to check my appointment for next week at EPU as I hadn't had a letter (the system around here seems to vary from day to day!) Anyway it is for next week but I hadn't realised that it was for a scan!Grin Now scared about what they will or wont see. I'll be bang on seven weeks. What should I expect?

Fishcake77 · 27/06/2014 11:42

Congratulations on the good scan news & welcome newbies.
New thread baby! Our little boy arrived yesterday on his due date (very unusual). 7lbs 14 and gorgeous! The labour was something else but that's not important now! Good luck to everyone on this thread - sending you loads of positfrickity & hand holding Thanks

squizita · 27/06/2014 11:47

Congrats Fishcake :) :) How perfect, baby fully baked but bang on time! :)

Aw congratulationd Fishcake!

And welcome Holly to the thread!I remember your name from the TTC thread so it's lovely to see you over here.

Cakebaker35 · 27/06/2014 12:31

Congratulations fishcake Flowers

gandt good news you are having a scan, at 7 weeks you may or may not see a heartbeat and it depends if they scan you internally or not. Don't be freaked out by an internal scan if you've not had one before, I've had several and very little discomfort at all, def better than a smear! They should be able to take measurements and check roughly where you are, how the sac looks etc. if you are still short of breath though I wouldn't wait until then, try and see or speak to gp if you can. X

Alb1 · 27/06/2014 13:13

Congratulations fish and welcome to everyone that's new!

I havnt posted in a few weeks I don't think but iv been tryna keep up reading, just had a lot going on with an ill family member.

Am now 30+6 everything still seems to be going perfectly normally here, which I'm very greatful for, but I still feel like it's all gona come crashing down any minute! I'd hoped by this stage id have calmed down the worrying abit but it's still going strong, luckily my DP is always here for a good fish slap

Anyway I'm hoping I'm back now so I should be able to start catching up properly!

LondonJen · 27/06/2014 13:18

Yey Fishcake just wonderful to hear, congratulations!

G&T I meant to say, I've had two different kinds of breathlessness in this pg. One is being out of puff after going upstairs or 'exerting' myself very little, totally normal, and was worse tri 1. The 2nd I felt like my breath was 'catching' even though I was just sitting or lying donw doing nothing. I went to Drs as it was getting worse though it since disappeared. Dr said hormones can essentially give you asthma symptoms, he could hear my chest was wheezy but my lung capacity was ok so not bad enough to require treatment (standard asthma treatment would be offered if it got worse.) So it could just be something like that but worth getting checked. I know dizziness is normal too but you don't want it to get worse. Remember if you do feel dizzy to sit down and get your head on your knees or lie down if poss, to line your heart up with your head. Else your body will make you faint to get the same result!

LondonJen · 27/06/2014 13:23

Smile for 30+6 Alb

liesal79 · 27/06/2014 14:10

hi all - think I may need a slap! Currently 14+3 and panicing about everything, Had a lovely scan on Monday - so why am I being like this! I am way further than all of the previous times! :(

tannyLoo · 27/06/2014 14:32

I'm going to say hi and then disappear again. Got a BFP this morning, but after 5 mcs I'm holding off any flag waving and high fiving. Just nice to know that you're all here and still upduffed.

Hope to be back here in a few weeks if I get past my danger zone x

SeaSaltMill · 27/06/2014 14:59

Good luck Tannyloo!

amicablemoomin · 27/06/2014 15:09

1congrats fish, lovely news!

OhTheDrama · 27/06/2014 15:22

Congratulations fishcake enjoy every minute with your little boy. It's so nice to hear of a thread baby, it really gives me hope.

Squiz will you update us what they say about coming off it. It really is hard to know what is best sometimes, I think you'll worry whatever the outcome. They have me on aspirin at the moment with a view to going on Clexane at 12 weeks, they are awaiting some blood results before they decide that. It just worries me about the risk of heamorrage but as you say there are other risks to the baby if you aren't on it. I have never been given a formal diagnosis but my mum has blood clotting issues. They have always refused to test me until now.

OhTheDrama · 27/06/2014 15:26

Hope all goes well tannyloo.

Lisa sending big hugs, I don't think the worry and anxiety ever leaves once you have experienced a loss.

squizita · 27/06/2014 15:38

tanny Hi again, we were on the RMC board together! :) Good to see you here. Best of luck!
