Feather I think you spend so long concentrating on getting a bfp we all kind of assumed it would be easy after that. It's not! I had three private scans and would do the same again so do what you need to x

Hi everybody,
We're back from the hospital. DD (it feels great writing that) obviously did not want to wait until her scheduled CS on wednesday.
Tuesday morning my waters went. So I woke up a very groggy DP, whilst trying to pull on a dress whilst clamping a bath towels between my thighs. We packed the car and set off, I brokered no argument and made DP park in the expensive car park Grin.
We arrived at six, me still waddling around with a growing assortment of bath towels (adding one around my waist to go with the one between my legs), but frankly contractions had started and I was pretty terrified so dignity and decorum were way down the list of priorities.
After a period of monitoring/blood tests/pubic shaving, I was bought into theater while they put the spinal in (it took a while as he couldn't get it in and was the worst bit).
After that DP came in dressed in scrubs, and they started the op. 3 mins later DD was out (9.15am). Whisked off for a few tests then given to me and DP while they finished up. DP then went off with her for more tests and I went to recovery until i was cleared to go back to the ward (about an hour).
I'm still fairly sore and very sleep deprived but so happy. Sadly my plans for breast feeding didn't pan out, so I have to go on a bottle feeding crash course tomorrow. Hopefully now we are back, I'll be able to get some sleep and feel a bit more human.

Yay qaz! I knew you'd be fine, and thank goodness you already knew she was breech and had no drama getting her here. I'm so happy for you!!!
If you have any questions about c section recovery let us know. Don't push it but don't just sit there either. Xxxxxxx

Tallyra · 20/06/2014 22:32

Oh and rp, water was impossible for me to keep down. It was at one point blueberry juice, ribena, and most if the time coke. Sometimes milk if I was feeling ok. All ice cold. I usually don't like my drinks too cold but it helped.

RevoltingPeasant · 20/06/2014 22:35

CUTENESS OVERLOAD Grin Grin Grin

Aw qaz well done! Sounds like you were super sensible and brave throughout.

Also bottle feeding can be brilliant. My mum bottle fed DSis4 who is 10 years younger than me, and it meant we could all feed her so my mum slept!

RevoltingPeasant · 20/06/2014 22:36

Thanks Tally I managed to eat some toast and very dilute cordial today and feel less shaky and weird :)

FeatherFeather11 · 20/06/2014 22:45

Ahh, congrats qaz! She's gorgeous! Hope you manage to get some rest. Sounds like it all happened so quickly - amazing!

Angelina77 · 21/06/2014 08:17

Fantastic news qaz congratulations :)
She's beautiful Thanks

greatbigbushybeard · 21/06/2014 21:03

qaz what a beauty!

Can I ask early berries have you 'booked in' yet? I haven't, was told to at scan but haven't got round to it. When did later berries do this? Also was reading about bleeding gums and dental care in pregnancy and how you should get check ups and avoid sugar.. Uh oh, my fave thing at mo to replace the alcohol is ginger beer/ fanta etc- full of the stuff! I am a good tooth brusher though! Also I have a private dentist and want to change to nhs because then you get the free treatment. Is this just a google to sort out?

Still no morning sickness which does worry me but read divided things on it .Tummy tight below and feels full as if something is a happening, do feel tired too but that's about it.

Also have other question to the wise ones Wink when did you start putting on anti stretch mark stuff on your tummy etc and what did you use? I have some bio oil anyway but on bottle says you shouldn't use until 2nd trimester. Also I read perhaps it's not the most 'natural' thing to put on your growing bump, any recommendations of more 'organic'type things you can use.

Sure there was something else I asked but it's clean gone out my head, keep wandering into rooms forgetting what I've walked in there for!! Not sure if that's a pg thing or not!! Hang on. I've remembered!! Bras!! Read something about at 8 weeks you could get yourself measured for a bra as the girls will have stopped growing, also said not to get underwired. Gas anyone done this and aren't you meant to wear underwired? All my bras are so will take a big shopping trip!

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/06/2014 22:10

Bushy...
You need to register with your local midwives to get a booking in appointment. In some areas you self refer by filling in a form online and in some areas you need to go to your GP who will refer you. You can either google or ring your GP to find out what to do in your area. Would do it soonish...your booking in appointment will prob be made for about 10 weeks. You will get a form at that appointment to apply to get your free dental/prescriptions
Stretch mark cream...there's a debate about whether its worth doing or not. I'm on the not side...I was told the creams can't soak in deeply enough to get to the layer of skin where stretch marks form, however some of the creams can improve the look of them if applied soon after they appear. Anyway, it's your own choice. I didn't apply any. I expected to get them as I got a lot during a growth spurt in my teens. The ones on my boobs are bad, but I only got a few on my belly and inner thighs
Bras - Im not sure your boobs will have stopped growing at 8 weeks!! Mine grew all the way up until the late 2nd tri. Its important to have a really well fitting bra, so keep getting measured as they grow. Underwire can cause mastitis even during pregnancy due to the pressure but I think you're fine provided that the bra fits really really well
Don't worry about the morning sickness. In our group one person had none and with everybody else it varied from occasional nausea to full blown sickness and hospitalisation. Don't wish it upon yourself, its awful!

CatsCantFlyFast · 21/06/2014 22:11

Qaz, she is gorgeous... Shout if you need a hand to hold or have any questions x

BlindKitty · 22/06/2014 02:02

qaz second what merk said re needing a hand to hold. Just remembering my day 3 wobble on fb after zero sleep and hormones a plenty! Gorgeous btw! X

rp I really like croissants too in 1st trimester!

bushy my 'sickness' was very much like yours as more 'lack of interest' in food. It could be a lot worse but still didn't get much nutrition down me!

feather my 6 week scan was the most amazing thing I've ever seen. I couldn't possibly have waited until 12 weeks! We're having a 'non-glasto' bbq on sat since we'd normally be partaking in the fun and debauchery! Can't see us doing glasto now for a good while and guess we'll be in the family field when we do!

RevoltingPeasant · 22/06/2014 10:25

Hi all, some worrying news for Feather in Berry HQ today.

I had a nasty moment yesterday as had been sitting down all day so went for a gentle walk and had intense cramping afterwards. Is this normal??? I put up a thread and the consensus seems to be, just don't go for walks, but ffs, you can't do no exercise whatsoever, surely?! How do you sleep??

Argh! Sickness much better but my warped brain has decided that's because the hormone level is dropping..... :(

greatbigbushybeard · 22/06/2014 10:34

rp sure it's just mini peasant getting settled and growing. I was playing in garden with friends' kids and felt a bit twingey and 'wet' yesterday, I thought oh no this is bleeding but it was fine. Exercise is really good and we're encouraged to do it and gentle walk, swim etc sounds the ideal so think it was just a growing pain. Strange that people said don't go for walks, have a look on nhs site as they advocate exercise. Such a head messer isn't it.

Yesfeather has had a bleed, cleo has given her a bit of reassurance but not sure if you ladies have had a bleed and could reassure her! she's said she's anxious anyway so any kind words would really help. There's a new thread now.

qazxc · 22/06/2014 12:17

RP I was very twingey and crampy in my first trimester, probably just implantation or growing pains. Unless the pain is too much or constant, or you have other symptoms such as bleeding, I wouldn't worry about it too much. Gentle exercise is absolutely fine during pregnancy, just listen to your body as to what you can handle.

Bunnygirlie · 22/06/2014 14:07

Hola! Did you miss me? I know I've only been away from wifi for two days but feels like two weeks lol. Must catch up, apologies if I go over old stuff.

Frolic acid I want some too!

Newbies - so nice to have newbies, it's been a while. Nice that you have come over together too, there is a month gap between me and Jess so I only had lovely Sid who is two weeks behind me.

The nausea and tiredness I expected, one if the weird symptoms that I got which surprised me was the awful nasal congestion so keep an eye out for that one Shock Oh and I found babybrain kicked in straight away, I feel like a right dunce at the mo!

Awwwwww Qaz lovely photo and congrats again!!!

bushy I'm a naughty berry! 25 weeks and have been meaning to get measured and new bra for ages but my boobs haven't changed/grown at all so that's why I keep putting it off I guess. I started on the bio oil at 20weeks, used normal moisturiser before that but didn't really start till 15 weeks.

RP I got off the loo one morning, something in my lower yum/groin twanged and I could barely walk for 10 mins. Like others have said, it's just things stretching out inside to make a lovely palace of your child Wink

Hi everyone, how are we all?

greatbigbushybeard · 22/06/2014 17:44

Hello bunny! I'm good thanks, avoiding reports, sat under tree in garden, lovely. If I was a good berry I would go do an hour of reports before dh gets back...then plant 2 plants from garden centre. I'm a terror for getting all enthusiastic about plant buying but then not planting them and they shrivel up and die!! Can I ask what early berries are doing for holibobs this summer?I don't think we want to risk abroad and we did have the futtc holiday in Caribbean last year. It'll have to be in school hols, uk, I'd like to go to the seaside. Been to Cornwall quite a bit and Devon a little but wondering about other seaside places like Weymouth or Wales. Def not camping!! Dh would like a cottage but not sure we will get one last minute, prob not going to be able to book anything til finished school. Any ideas on nice destinations? Or, whilst we still can, adult hotels e.g. Not full of kids!!

Frolic acid made me smile too!

greatbigbushybeard · 22/06/2014 18:03

Here's a question. I was surfing the net and came across pg women recommending non alcoholic beer so had a look in supermarket today and bought some fosters reader alcohol free. On the packet it says 'not more than 0.05%vol'. I fancied a citrus beer for a while so thought this would be ok but since googled ( yes, I know I am not listening to my own advice!) and some say it's not safe as still gas alcohol in it. Others said it's the same as some fruit juice and that as long as you're not guzzling the stuff it should be ok. Any thoughts?? I would have thought the alcohol it has in it is minute.
Thought I would have one with the footie.

RevoltingPeasant · 22/06/2014 18:26

Bushy I'd go for it. OJ has minute amounts of alcohol in, as we know....

Thanks for reassurance re cramping! We went for a walk around a nature reserve DH works on today and I had some more, mild cramping so just headed back to car and so far okay. Also came back staaaaarving all of a sudden so had massive sandwich which was lush! Being sick all the time stinks.

Bunny snigger at 'lower yum', sounds like some kind of cutesy euphemism for fanjo. I'm going to practice for the midwife: "I've been having some discharge from my yum, should I be worried?" Grin

Tallyra · 22/06/2014 19:27

bushy I day the drinks will be fine. I'm pretty sure the no alcohol thing is to persuade people to tone it down. lots of ladies had Guinness every day for the iron a while ago. one tiny 0.5% won't do any harm. I drank a less than 1% shandy a lot once the sickness allowed me to.

CatsCantFlyFast · 22/06/2014 19:30

If you have the chance/money to holiday while pregnant I would; your holidays will never be the same again Grin

Bunnygirlie · 22/06/2014 20:41

RP oh nooooooooo I'm usually so good at checking my posts before I post doh! I obviously meant lower tum (which self corrected to rum this time) lower yum sounds well weird lol

I'm on holiday now YAY!!!

greatbigbushybeard · 22/06/2014 21:30

merkin yup that's why we did the obscene hol to Caribbean but that was more a we can't have kids so fuck it! So this year will be more toned down and tbh I wouldn't want to go abroad in case of medical probs and dh isn't bothered so..

Lol at the 'yum', my 'yum' has been grumbling a bit too.

Right that's it I'm trying a Radner 0%. Will report back .

greatbigbushybeard · 22/06/2014 21:36

Mmm, nice but more like a cold lemony drink. Don't know what the one with alcohol in it tastes like. Anyone else? V refreshing and nice to have a drink from a bottle, makes u think you're having a beer!!

Tallyra · 23/06/2014 02:21

the one I drink is French. called Panache.
