I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!prescribinginfosub

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

Uuuugh! Ginger biscuits are the worst thing to puke up, awful I will never eat them again!

Well my scan went well, measured 12+4, I thought I was 11+6 so that brings my due date forward to the 29th September! The picture wasn't very clear, my bladder was empty. I had made a conscious effort to drink more today too! My body must be absorbing everything after being dehydrated. Stupid body!

ChaffinchOfDoom · 21/03/2014 11:38

Grin ginger torture

LucindaE · 21/03/2014 11:49

Petitelapin How is the coke doing now?
I am puzzled about rice being recommended somewhere- awful and choking on the way back up...

You guys do make me laugh!

I'm feeling a bit better better today. Think the Avomine is helping.

Lottie are you still at a 9?

Meerka · 21/03/2014 13:03

good news mrsb about the scan showing the Passenger a bit more advanced than was thought!

I admit I did say to one person who suggested ginger that it was like pissing into a hurricane. Just lost my patience by then!

mrsb87 · 21/03/2014 13:14

Hehe meerka that's a good one!
Thanks yes I guess it makes more sense why I was starting to feel a bit better when I did now.

PunkStar · 21/03/2014 13:39

I get my C sec date in six weeks! Boo yaaaa!!!!
There is an end :-)
Scan good, fat little Buddha with podgy tummy so my five foods must be good 'uns :-)

Raaaaaaah to the nausea for all those suffering today.

PunkStar · 21/03/2014 13:41

Hehe Meerka love the pissing quote.I'm now hoping someone suggests ginger or crackers ..I just really want to say it.

livingzuid · 21/03/2014 14:02

Yay punk and mrsb for good scans.

I got whipped in for my 30 week scan which was done by a top consultant as My obstetrician called in a favour Shock You could tell the difference he did it in about 5 minutes. She has very long legs (from the Dutch side, must be, I resemble a stump) and is a heifer in the 95th percentile. I could only think owie Grin All was looking great with her.

She had her legs crossed in the scan it was so cute.

My blood pressure is up again :( but still don't have to worry he said as the protein and glucose looks normal. Back again in two weeks. I am 3 days away from that 30 week mark. Then the countdown can really begin.

punk funny about the food isn't it. The scan dude said it was all down to what you are veggie wise and seeing as any vegetable that passed my lips reappeared again I can only put it down to the amount of milk I have drunk. I do at least a pint a day. I manage the odd bit of fruit but that's it.

I might even allow myself to get a weenie bit excited now....

livingzuid · 21/03/2014 14:02

Ate not are sorry

petitlapin1 · 21/03/2014 14:34

Yay for positive scans!

I think i'm hormonally surging at the minute which is what's making the HG worse. I think that because I am experiencing the rage as well. OH said he'd put off the in laws arriving until he got home this evening. Just had a call to say they'll be here at half 4, he's been busy and it wasn't the first thing on his mind. Also, would I remember to flush twice after vomiting as it leaves the water cloudy. And I shouldn't worry about making the house too tidy! And have I tried eating, as the hunger will make the vomiting worse.

Have spent the afternoon (the 2 hours i've been awake) vomiting bile and water (and the biscuit I stupidly tried after OHs suggestion), sobbing and sitting naked on the toilet with my sick bowl after my pelvic floor leaked on my PJs.

Sorry for moaning, and thank you all for lovely kind words and support. It really does make all the difference!

livingzuid · 21/03/2014 14:38

Any of that fresh ginger lying around petit for you to experiment with your dh?

Get ye to bed and stay there! Don't feel bad about anything.

Meerka · 21/03/2014 14:58

oh petit it sounds one of the worst days going, not only the nausea but the stress of in laws and stuff. [non-scented Flowers

Lottiedoubtie · 21/03/2014 14:59

Blimey petit, I'm raging on your behalf. That's not a hormone problem, that's a DH problem.

If I were you I wouldn't bother flushing at all. Pull dressing gown on and let them arrive house as is. In fact don't even answer the door if your not up to it.

I just forced myself into getting dressed, couldn't face a shower so the doctor will have to cope with my greesy hair, I did have a wash and covered myself in deodorant Blush

Thanks for asking okla nausea has rescinded to a 6 or so and I've managed some bread and cheese for lunch. Just looked in the mirror and I look fat and pregnant for the first time today I think (I usually just look fat).

15 weeks today, so things should turn soon right...,right...?

Off to the doctors as soon as DH gets home, he's a bit grumpy about taking me today, but compared to petits DH he's a saint Wink want me to send you some fresh ginger?

mrsb87 · 21/03/2014 15:01

Grrrrr the "are you sure you're not hungry? " comment!! Mil asked me repeatedly on the phone for weeks til I went mad at dh and he told her what for.
Yes because I hadn't tried eating you pillock!

Ahem!

I hope they don't stick around too long petit! I'm impressed you're even having them over.

We're planning on going to our inlaws tonight to show them the picture. Sil immediately pipes up expecting us to go round this weekend to tell their kids......er no. 2 reasons, 1 dh is working saturday so I will only spend sunday with him anyway and 2 I'm not seeing my own nephews and nieces to tell them face to face to I certainly won't be giving them preferential treatment! Sorry. Winge over.

mrsb87 · 21/03/2014 15:03

Also mirroring living's comment about the ginger a nice large knobbly piece?

Pickofthepops · 21/03/2014 15:14

Every time I go to post there are more annoying comments from your rellies. They are unbelievable esp lapin and mrsb.

Have spent a grim week but bit better now after getting canesten for thrush and finally some antibiotics for sinus infection which has been weird since before bfp!

MrsHende · 21/03/2014 15:16

Good grief petit, what a day!

Great news about the scans - mrsb I got a scan in the hospital at the weekend and I'm 12 weeks today, like you I thought I was a bit further behind than that and feel like I've been gifted 4 or 5 sick free days!

Had a bit of a breakthrough here, buccal stemitel. I've been on cyclizine and stemitel since my first admission and my gp mentioned the buccal version and that it was out of production. After my horrors last week I saw the gp again on Wednesday and she went on a mission to find the buccal stemitel (which you put high up between your top lip and gum) as she thought it was more effective. Boy is she right! I can get 5 hours with not even any nausea! Unfortunately you can only have a dose every 12 hours but I spoke to the gp this afternoon and she's upped my dose so fingers crossed tomorrow I get even longer than 5 hours. Long may it continue...

MrsHende · 21/03/2014 15:17

Pick, I've got thrush too - so unfair on too of everything else!!

Pickofthepops · 21/03/2014 16:03

Sympathies mrs Hende and hi to everyone else. Good luck with strmati I couldn't get on with the taste of it, do you find that bearable?

MrsHende · 21/03/2014 16:08

When the taste begins to permeate I stick a wine gum in my mouth! It's worked so far!

Oklahoma · 21/03/2014 16:22

Sounds like terrible days all round. Lap in we should lock our ILs somewhere together and just leave them to it.

I can't believe your DH said that!!!

I would say at least it is Friday to everyone but that won't help at all. Sending good vibes to everyone. Hope you have better days tomorrow.

Lottiedoubtie · 21/03/2014 16:29

Well just back from docs, been signed off for another month. Had to beg for Cyclizine 'oh that's not normally prescribed in pregnancy'.

Hmm why do I know the NICE guidelines better than the GP now? (It's because of all of you, thank you!).

He did give it though, even though he didnt see why me being admitted to hospital last weekend made me loose faith in the other one I was on....

ChaffinchOfDoom · 21/03/2014 16:34

def. accidental puking on dh/IL both Grin

great scans! crossed legs is amazing.

petitlapin1 · 21/03/2014 16:51

pick and mreshende I had thrush in tri 2, swear it made the vomiting worse.

mrsb having inlaws round wasn't my choice... Especially as we can't do the nursery till they've gone. I've made sure all the baby things are still in there so they know this is their last time in the "spare room"!

living and meerka, as always, thank you for kind words and suggestions of ginger per rectum for DH. He has since phoned and delayed inlaws somewhere on the m18, so the ginger may not be required. I am planning on making sure he gets post traumatic stress disorder from labour though when it finally gets here. Not from the birth itself but from the injuries I may inflict on him in retaliation for offhand comments.

okla I sometimes toy with the idea of withholding their first grandchild from them if they're particularly unthoughtful. I wouldn't, but the idea soothes me...

Lottie Yay for looking pregnant! And for getting the cyclizine. And thank you for lovely kind words too.
