I hope everyone suffering from the Horrors of Hyperemesis will find this thread useful as a source of support and information.

There's no TMI on here - can't be by definition - and nobody should feel ashamed of moaning as much as they feel the need to.

MOH's wonderful website is full of useful information on this illness:
sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/
Another invaluable website is:
www.pregnancysicknesssupport.org.uk/
If you need help in obtaining medication, this phone number is
brilliant:
024 7638 2020

Lastly, the NICE guidelines on treatment are useful:
cks.nice.org.uk/nauseavomiting-in-pregnancy#!prescribinginfosub

I would like to thank Everyone who has given such invaluable support and advice on this and on previous threads.

Remember when you are at your worst, 'This Too Shall Pass'. It really will.
So many women on this thread have thought they couldn't get through this, but they did.

I have found avocado quite good. It's bland and high nutrient. Some days I think it just has to be a case of whatever will stay down though!

PunkStar · 20/03/2014 19:54

My foods are toast +/- cheese.
Jacket potato
Boiled rice with soy sauce
Crisps (Worcester sauce flavour, the rarest of breeds)
Milk
That is all
It's fecking driving me insane. I've vomited potato and cheese this eve so feeling resentful towards them currently.

I want to be pregnant and go on holiday and eat tapas and have lots of desserts, not this starving/nausea/vom cycle. I'm nearly 29 weeks, I've paid my dues. A bit of respite would be much appreciated. I'm not a violent person but I would kick HG in the head if it presented in physical form.

Doom
I envy your pre-op waiting....

Anyway, had pleasant afternoon of noseying around friend's new house and goss.

In laws around at the weekend. They are under strict orders to bring no food as the aversions are limitless.

Hope no Jetemy Kyle playing in antenatal clinic tomorrow. Last time they felt it necessary, I was so irritated by the show I actually vomited. JK= bad for health.

PunkStar · 20/03/2014 19:58

Finished Walking Dead now, need next volume...

mrsb87 · 20/03/2014 20:05

punk dh has a handsome collection of those amongst others. We are preparing him a bat "geek" cave in thw cellar. Best place for him. Hehe

ChaffinchOfDoom · 20/03/2014 20:12

sorry Meerka Blush I'm always so tempted to add the end t I can't resist
Grin

livingzuid · 20/03/2014 20:22

Oh punk me too (have scan fear already) but why the Jeremy Kyle? That's the last thing you need! But we are nearly at the 10 week countdown :)

I migrate from food to food. At the moment the best thing is chicken and rice and tonic water mixed with oj. I have gone right off potato things but I craved it in the second trimester.

Even made it to pregnancy yoga tonight and got told off for not standing correctly from the floor Grin I was the fattest and ungainlyest person there but it was good.

PunkStar · 20/03/2014 22:04

Ooooh just checking the plane conspiracy thread (I'd never been on mumsnet until HG....I had no idea everything got discussed.)
Fab stuff Zuid was the movie t'other half made you watch the Zeitgeist movie? I love stuff like that...

Good luck for scan too! Healthy, growing babies :-)

I then have to see obs who will get freaked out by the prednisolone, even though I'm on a dose that's barely above physiological level. Then they'll go on about gestational diabetes, even though HG consultant is top dog diabetes expert and researcher (HG is his side interest)
Then I'll just ignore them :-)

MrsB
I have converted OH into geekdom. I even have a special cabinet for all my comics graphic novels.

Lottiedoubtie · 20/03/2014 22:49

Managed an ok evening of downstairs lying on the sofa watching TV. DH went to tescos and is now putting all the shopping that he will have to eat away, although he did stock up on bagels and flapjack- two things that seem to be going down well!

Just had a massive retch upon coming back to bed, but so far have avoided actual upchuck this evening, so I'm pleased about that.

Everything seems to stink, even though I've got all the windows wide open...

Fortunately we have a cleaner and she's due tomorrow even though I hate lying around feeling like a lazy cow whilst she's here, I can feel her judging me... and so I'm hoping I'll prefer the smell of cleaning product!
Definitely feels better to be in a nice freshly cleaned house.

petitlapin1 · 20/03/2014 23:06

Oh God, vomiting back to 'the bad days' levels. My faithful diet coke has failed me... It was fizzy coming back through my nose... Noooo!

Lottiedoubtie · 20/03/2014 23:17

Oh petit sounds shit. Do get back in touch with the hospital if you need to. Anything I can say to distract you?

livingzuid · 21/03/2014 07:33

It's l check punk he's still in man flu mode so not overly communicative Grin we watched the other one on Kurt cobain that said Courtney love had paid to have him bumped off before he could divorce her. She is actually crazy enough to do something like that so who knows...

Neither of us are big conspiracy theorists but they were interesting.

I know what you mean about them freaking. My blood pressure is always raised when I go and I've never had blood pressure issues in my life. Not that it matters for pregnancy but I get so terrified every time it just soars. So then I have to do all the protein testing etc which thank god is still showing as negative. Pre eclampsia on top of everything else in this pregnancy would be the last straw!

lottie hope it goes well with the cleaners :) that sounds lovely.

petit sorry you are feeling so rough again. Lots of rest and leave the in laws to it.

Nausea and insomnia last night again and not breathing properly is really annoying. I ended up on the sofa again but for some reason I can sleep better there. I think because I'm propped up a bit? Felt sooooo sick on waking this morning even a nesquik didn't help :(

livingzuid · 21/03/2014 07:33

I will check even. Stupid phone.

mrsb87 · 21/03/2014 08:02

Oh no living what a horrid night for you. From what I've read apparently sleeping on the sofa is meant to help in late pregnancy. I personally cannot wait to get myself one of those body pillows! Already sleeping with a cushion under my knee.

Noooooo I was had by the no make up swldie mafia!! Not with hg how cruel! !

mrsb87 · 21/03/2014 08:05

Swldie? Selfie!

Oklahoma · 21/03/2014 08:53

Morning ladies. I hope you all managed to get some sleep.

It is sunny down here and I have just managed to eat half a hot cross bun so I have high hopes for today!

I couldn't work out why my bed was full of sand when I got in last night until DH pointed out it was crumbs from my attempts to eat before moving. Is that really really gross or just one of the joys of HG?

Oklahoma · 21/03/2014 09:41

My MIL just asked me if I have tried ginger. Apparently there is a tea you can get which is quite calming! Angry

Suggestions and responses welcome...

livingzuid · 21/03/2014 09:48

There should be a special place with lots of fire and brimstone for people who suggest ginger to women with hg. That they are banished to straight away.

Smile and nod is one. Or saying hg is an illness and needs medication is another. Or that she's welcome to try if she'd like to see it return in spectacular fashion all over her.

I find the more pregnant I get the less patience I have....

Oklahoma · 21/03/2014 09:54

I like option 3.

I just haven't replied.

LucindaE · 21/03/2014 10:00

How is everyone? Just got up from a pesky migraine, so I'll have to catch up from yesterday am. I noted yet again yesterday what a noisy puker I am and have always been, if there's lots of retching how do people do it quietly? Petite Did you say puking bad again despite meds? Oklahahoma People who say these things deserve to get it themselves in another life.
xx

ChaffinchOfDoom · 21/03/2014 10:07

sunny yet cold here. need to get my butt to lidl. too lazy Grin

feel nausea level ..oooh 6/10 today bleurgh

Lottiedoubtie · 21/03/2014 10:21

Nausea 9/10 and rising. Need to have a shower before I go to the doctors this afternoon. Argh.

Ginger- has it ever helped anyone ever? I'd worked out it was crap in about week 5 when I just felt a little bit sick occasionally.

Meerka · 21/03/2014 10:58

In haste - regarding ginger - the best use is peeled, up the bum of the person who suggested it. Apparently it burnnnns (used to be a punishment in ancient cultures, god they had weird imaginations)

as for less physical responses, have a good read here. So So satisfying

sites.google.com/site/pregnancysicknesssos/what-to-say-when

livingzuid · 21/03/2014 11:21

The amount of people who told me to eat ginger nuts. Never want to see another one again. And guess what they were one of the most disgusting things to puke up.

livingzuid · 21/03/2014 11:25

As a complete side note, we are sat across from another couple waiting to see the gynaecologist and they have matching his and hers trainers but those ones where you can see where each toe goes. The whole match matchy of it is making me giggle and dh keeps telling me off Grin

Although the smell of the coffee machine when I went to get water was retch inducing. Karma. Sigh

Lottiedoubtie · 21/03/2014 11:25

Grin picturing my nearest and dearest running around with ginger up their bums. Well that's cheered me up!
