Was up at 3am gaah. Went for some rambutan at 5am to stave off vomiting then dozed off again at 7 for an hour or so. Sigh.
punk yes forgot to say that sounds like a living hell having to go away with family so soon after the birth. Surely we just want our peace and quiet around then?
Work-wise if I am successful it will be 2 months after giving birth but then if I had found work here I would have gone back after 12 weeks as statutory minimum is 16 and you don't get paid for anything extra. You have to take a minimum of 4 weeks pre birth, so it doesn't make a huge difference. Easy for me to say pre-baby but DH will be at home instead being a SAHD and studying (very proud of him for starting his degree, good timing really). So as long as there's nothing physical stopping me and my bipolar medication does what it normally does, it shouldn't be a problem aside from an emotional one :)
I think he's secretly looking forward to it! If we find a little place near work and they are flexible on hours which I think they are, we can make it happen. There is also the potential to be part-time for a few weeks at the start as well. It's a fantastic opportunity for me professionally if I am successful. And DH and I are turning it into a little babymoon so he's going to come and look around. He's only been to London, Devon and a day trip to Manchester. I was shocking at showing him around for the brief time we lived in London and I have to remember a move for him is a huge adventure to experience something new.
Yay us for not too long to go though :)
totes my friend has a 5 year old and a 3 year old and she said 2 was a nightmare in terms of waking up and them not having consistent sleep. My niece was the same. They all settled again but a pita for you in the meantime :(
frankie we all have different things for the taste. The most effective for me have been cups of boiling water with lemon or lime in. It's the one hot drink I have been able to have in this pregnancy, all else makes me barf. Barley sugars were nice but I have found I can't really tolerate any refined sugar in this pregnancy. Only McDonalds sundaes, why??
I also have high blood pressure - I am right on the cusp of it being a problem and it being ok. I am on so many different blinking medications I think my consultant is really reluctant to give me any more
and the baby is huge and moving around so they just check me every couple of weeks. I do find the lightheaded makes the HG worse though, does it for you? Not surprisingly I suppose!
azakaban gosh so sorry to hear that. Why did you have to go back to work? There is something under the pregnancy legislation which means you are able to be signed off for the majority of the pregnancy if needs be, there are a couple of ladies who have had to do that on here (can't remember it exactly sorry). I can't imagine having to work and had to stop at week 16. HG with your severity surely you can take the time off? Work and HG do not go well together :(
Gaviscon or Rennies for the heartburn are awesome. Rennies you can just suck on quietly in the middle of the night whilst dozing off.
pick so sorry you have all that worry. Hard to stay positive I know but it is still a 97.5% chance that everything is fine (I did have to google that as a percentage
but it looks about right). The odds of everything being fine with your baby are very high indeed. It's so alarming when they give you the stats. But you're going to a great hospital to have the test done and you'll be in good hands.
