For pregnant berries at any stage. Scary thought but this is the one where some babies will appear!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Tallyra · 28/03/2014 08:46

Thanks boom. Yes, lots of reasons to be positive. Planning isn't my strong point but I think it would be a good start for her rather than us running around trying to finish stuff. This deadline will mean dh will pull the stops out to get the room ready and stuff brought over from mil's. I'm getting stressed that she still has the Moses basket, chest of drawers, cot, most of the clothes. I'm so far from being in control right now it's getting to me a bit. I think I'll start sanding the polyfilla today to get him going.

Brodicea · 28/03/2014 09:09

That's all the encouragement I need boom - I now have a day of Columbo and hot chocolate to look forward to (oh and a MW appointment slap bang in the middle) Smile

As you say tally, take the control where you can: get the stuff in tip top shape, or rather get your man to! We have carte blanche to boss DH / DPs around -seize the power!

Boomgoestheweasel · 28/03/2014 09:44

Mr Tally needs to take control and get your stuff back, you're looking at 2 weeks to get things ready and you need to work out where everything's going!

I'm having a strop, all my baby stuff was in the garage ready to be brought out and just realised the plumber has used the garage to cut his tiles in. All baby stuff now covered in tile dust GAAAAH. However on the bright side Mummy Boom is taking me shopping tomorrow for remaining outstanding things on my baby list so I finally get to wander round Mothercare going 'ooooh' and 'aaaaw' Grin

Tallyra · 28/03/2014 11:57

boom, that is out of order!!!! he should have at least covered the stuff while he worked!!

fil did that to us last year when he re did our bathroom and put a new doorway in, but then he's notorious for being less thoughtful with family jobs than with paying customers ( he's a retired handyman). we still haven't found all the places he covered in plaster dust, and he made a hole in the nursery when he repositioned a light switch in the neighbouring room, hence the polyfilla. I do like my pil, and they do a hell of a lot for us (new handrail on the stairs, new bathroom, new fireplace etc), sometimes I feel like they are taking over as dh will mention we are thinking if doing something and the next day one of them will be over to measure up. sometimes I'd like to be able to plan my own home!!!

BlindKitty · 28/03/2014 13:00

sid my latest 'interfering comments' gripe is people saying I have a small bump! What I actually hear is 'oh your baby is growing properly'. Funnily enough, she's plotting perfectly on the growth chart! Have you 'come out' yet to the states btw?

foodie I literally have 2 dresses that I actually like wearing!

bunny crafty? Only 2 days til Mother's Day now!

boom what actually is moxibustion? I've been reading all your posts about it for weeks and don't actually know what it is! Fab pics btw

tally sorry it wasn't the news you were after but have you tried pregnancy yoga? Could go online if you can't make an actual group in your area? Might be worth not sitting on the sofa too much (if you do) and using a birthing ball

Thanks thunder and bunny re my friend. Praying hard

brod risk is prob small but I wouldn't take any. Did you not have it as a child? They screen you earlier on (described as varicella virus)

poppy woop woop for your last day! I hope your colleagues are fussing over you!

charming afraid I was a bit underwhelmed with nct! Think maybe I've learnt too much so didn't learn anything new! I blame the berries...Wink

Brodicea · 28/03/2014 13:05

You're quite right kitty, I've also learned everything from the berries! No, I didn't get it as a kid - not sure about what came out of the blood tests, but nothing was mentioned.

I just got back from my midwife appointment, on what was to be a bonus lazy day: I'm measuring large AGAIN and I have trace glucose in my wee so I'm off next week for another scan and a dreaded GTT test. I hope everything is OK - at this point though at 34 weeks (and will be 35 weeks next Monday), I feel a bit like the worst case scenario is they whip her out early and she will be fine. Still, slightly worried.

Tallyra · 28/03/2014 13:05

oh brod, just seen your question. yes, I would avoid her. its not just chicken pox that you will be susceptible to, its shingles as well and although I'm almost completely ignorant about it, I'm aware that shingles in pg is baaad.

BlindKitty · 28/03/2014 13:21

brod GTTs aren't so bad. Just take something to do as the waiting around is like death by waiting room! Worst case scenario even if you do have gest diabetes you can still manage it. When is the GTT?

Bunnygirlie · 28/03/2014 13:28

thunder do you not have any onky saviours in your life Wink

boom sorry boss! But everyone watches OBEM, that was just a scary one!

Last day at work poppy woohoo! Hope it’s a good one.

tally glad hubby is looking after you.

kitty yep crafty (without a crafty bone in my body), it may all fall apart though. Will post on bookface if it works out Smile

brod sorry to hear you have worries, this whole pg saga is a right worry from start to finish!

Was talking to girl who waxes my legs last night, she asked me if I’d bought anything like prams or anything yet, surely its too early to think about that?!?!?

Question – did anybody else get a lot of nosebleeds? I’m assuming it’s just the pressure from all the gagging.

I’m soooooooooooooooooooooo nervous about Sunday Shock

BlindKitty · 28/03/2014 13:32

bunny no nosebleeds but snotty without a cold! It's something to do with blood vessels dilating I think

Brodicea · 28/03/2014 13:53

Hey all, I'm not toooo worried, GD does seem to be in the main pretty manageable, and at least we're quite late on now - the MW was fairly reassuring, just saying maybe the wee thing was a fluke (only trace glucose) and that they already know the baby is a biggun. The GTT is on Tuesday morning, so not long - annoyingly my mum was coming up for the day to look at houses (she's relocating to near us!) so I might have to send her out solo.

Bloody bogies (especially in the morning!) were and are one of my pregnancy things - not nose bleeds as such, but I've never had one in any case. My friend had a terrible dramatic nose bleed during pregnancy and was OK - I think it is the blood vessels as kitty says and another thing chalked up to the weird world of pregnancy.

MotherOfCleo · 28/03/2014 20:32

tally I had a section and struggled to bf, H just wasnt interested, '-even the mw's were suprised at how difficult he was about it-- . I beat myself up about it for weeks and weeks, but honestly it really isn't the disaster you may worry that it is. I expressed for H so he had breast milk until he was 9 weeks, but formula is also fine. Do what is right for you and your baby, dont force yourself to conform to what you think you 'should do'. I'm a bit of a hipacrite as that is exactly what I did to myself but in hindsight I was stupid, H is so much happier bottle feeding (expressed or formula) than he was when bfing. I do hope bfing works out for you though.

Tallyra · 28/03/2014 21:10

thanks mother. I know I shouldn't worry too much. I've just always wanted to do it, and as this is probably the only time I'll do it, I guess I'm putting pressure on myself. I'm usually quite pragmatic so we'll see how it goes.

MotherOfCleo · 28/03/2014 21:41

I'm sure you'll be fine tally, just don't want you to go through the heartache I did if it doesn't work out as you hope.

Thunderpantsarego · 29/03/2014 04:04

Evening all.

I'm being a bit crap at keeping up so apologies

Seems like there have been some happier vibes and major girl power do I sound like an old crock saying that?! in here which is lovely

brod hope the test goes well, chances are it'll be nothing as you say but just being well looked after is the most important thing.

All here is good. Not only was it indeed a real baby- omfg, bit I find her totally amazing. Am smitten good job noting the hour I'm writing this Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 29/03/2014 07:02

Ah thunder so lovely you're enjoying her! If it makes you feel better I was up then too for my 5th wee trip and midnight Rennies snack of the night. Sleeping not going well at the moment!

BlindKitty · 29/03/2014 08:14

Ah I am too in the 4.00 club these days thunder but for different reasons! It's like being in the first trimester again!

Going to a nct nearly new sale in a few hours and managed to blag myself a friends membership card so should hopefully get a few bargains!

Dh rocked up drunk and was stroking my bump in his sleep Smile rather than groping me like he usually does when he's drunk asleep

Bunnygirlie · 29/03/2014 13:26

Hellooooooooooooo anybody there!

Quiet in here, did all you early risers go back to bed Wink

Had letter this morning, downs results low, 1 in 50,000. Of course I know there are a million other things to worry about but it's nice to have some good news Smile

SidneyBristow · 29/03/2014 15:39

Bunny excellent news, must be such a relief; I haven't slept well since my blood draw the other day so I can only hope to get good results very soon - I look haggard enough!!

Exhausted today, v broken sleep due to unsettled Bristowpooch and my own personal temperature being out of whack. Just got up from a nap and feeling groggy but haven't vommed in 24hrs which is encouraging.

Online shopping now on the elusive quest for mat gear that looks like normal clothes, only bump-friendly Hmm feeling v low about my appearance lately as generally just feel large and can't even point to a definite bump to take the edge off! It just looks like I've been eating too much! Sad

Brodicea · 29/03/2014 16:01

Good news bunny - nice one!

Sid I know what you mean, I felt like a bloater early on - and I still do now. I have a bit of water retention I think (hmm - that's how I explain the jowls) which also makes it worse. Wise people tell me that I'm pregnant and so it's a good thing to put on a bit - still, doesn't help me to feel very attractive.

BlindKitty · 29/03/2014 17:46

sid bunny your waistline is thickening due to the extra water you're carrying and your uterus getting bigger. I still wish I felt better about myself too though! Doesn't help that Dh told his friend that "he always knew he wouldn't marry a supermodel" last week! He was trying to give a pep talk so that his mate aimed a bit lower as he keeps going after girls out of his league. Cheers Dh! Hmm

bunny it's nearly mummy day!!! Have you decided to video it yet? Fab news re bloods

Bought so much stuff today at the nearly new sale! Got a baby monitor, nappy bag, muslins, several toys, bjorn baby carrier, clothes, a book, top and tail bath, a light thingy for the crib and a toy thing for the pushchair for...£61.50! Well worth going to girls!!!

BlearyeyedLol · 29/03/2014 18:19

Just a quickie re labour watch. Now that merk and thunder have had real babies, are we on to talk and then boom?
How exciting Grin

Boomgoestheweasel · 29/03/2014 18:33

lol no labour watch for us I suspect (unless miniTally is going to do some spinning, I have my fingers crossed that she will)! Although gotta tell you all girls...I'm not saying when our section date will be. I'd like to keep a little tiny bit of mystery about it all difficult when they get their diary out and say 'how does XX date work for you' as if you're booking a haircut

Been shopping with Mama Boom today, got the boring basics (vests, cot sheets etc) but also got a couple of very cute babygros that she went all gooey over to use as their 'going home' outfits (I always find this an odd concept but it seemed important to her that they were wearing something nice to leave the hospital!). Am actually freaked out that they will contain real babies at some point...can't see how that's ever going to happen!

Kitty bloody good effort at the NCT sale! I'm being taken to a 'baby car boot' next week to see if we can find some cheapo playmats and extra stuff for Mum's house.

Sid and Bunny feeling fat will all be worth it the first time someone comes over to you with a soppy grin and asks when you're due Grin

Lovely news on the results Bunny! Not long for yours either now Sid..

Mr Boom is going out with his clients tonight for curry and beers...hoping he's not going to go too mad, I know I'm not supposed to be going into labour but you never know...! Bath, hot choc, bed for me Grin Brew

MotherOfCleo · 29/03/2014 19:05

panic not boom it really is so different when it is your baby. I still get a bit flustered dealing with my friends babies but I just know what to do when it's H.

Bunnygirlie · 29/03/2014 19:23

Thanks ladies, it is a relief. Still lots of worries and stress ahead though. Keeping fingers crossed for you too sid.

sid think I am going to have to admit defeat and start looking for mat clothes. Feeling really blobby and work trousers and jeans feeling tight on the tum.
My temps are all over the shop too, when chilling on the sofa I need a blanket but in bed I boil!

Ladies, a reminder of good online stores please? Apart from debenhams I don't think we have anywhere that does mat clothes round here.

kitty sounds like a very successful shopping trip! Will let you know how M Day goes tomorrow Grin bit nervous actually!

boom a baby car boot, is that for buying teeny weeny cars? Wink

Home alone here this evening too, just chilling and finishing my craft project Wink
