Hi all
Alb thank you and yep he is a boy. I'm not doing the NHS antenatal classes, or any classes actually (I'm a friendly little critter these days
), but at my 28 week midwife appointment she tried to persuade me to book onto them then, so I would have attended when I was about 33 - 35 weeks I think, if that helps. From friends I gather it's common in our area to book them when you're about 28 - 30 weeks, which seems pretty late to me.
I have coeliac disease, and throughout this pregnancy I get symptoms and horrendous pain as if I've eaten something I shouldn't even though I know I haven't, the hospital dietician said it is very common for people with digestive disorders/complains to have them phantomly flare up, particularly in the first and second tri, so perhaps it's just that? Any pain is awful, hang in there though, it is far, far more likely that all is well xxx.
Squiz well done for fb and typical people didn't read properly!
. I know it's difficult but I really would try not to worry about not having a bump yet if I were you, I was looking at some photos with my Mum today of when she was pregnant with me, and there was one of her sideways on at 26 weeks and her stomach still looked flat as a board, you couldn't actually tell she was pregnant until about 34 weeks, and I wasn't a small baby by any means! Also, two of my friends haven't had noticable bumps (even in tight shirts) until after 28 - 30 weeks, and they both had 10lb babies! In fact, now I think about it, of all the pregnant people I know, the ones with smaller or later showing bumps have all had very big babies, whereas the ladies who have had big bumps all seem to have average size babies, so could just be you're in for a giant baby!
Also, with my mmcs, my bump got very big very quickly, whereas this pregnancy my bump was slower to develop, not sure if that helps.
I was wondering if I could ask your advice about the prune juice please? How much are you supposed to drink in one go? I've got some of the Sunsweet stuff and have been drinking it out of a wine glass with a straw (classy me) and I've now had nearly a litre. I'm doing a trial run as am planning to drink lots after the ELCS to avoid the dreaded surgery constipation
.
Corp really glad to hear you made it through your MC EDD, really annoying about the neighbours, are they usually a nuisance?
kjh not long at all for you now!!!
Really sorry to hear you're in a lot of pain though
fod really hope the silence means you're enjoying newborn snuggles xxx
polka cbeebies and kjh had some great advice which I would second, I also get periods of terror/paranoia for no real reason too, sadly I think it comes with the territory of pregnancy after miscarriage. Really good news about your scan, and always feel free to jump in whenever you want
x.
jen sounds like the start of a bump to me too!
Mine started about there, and then rapidly grew upwards and outwards.
pgchimp glad to hear your nct went well
jbrd really hope you had a nice time at your scan today
Christine hello! What a beautiful name, and what a lovely big girl! How are you both getting on?
wigwam good to hear from you, and good news that your scan is tomorrow, really hope it goes really well and is a lovely experience for you and your DH x.
bakingtins great news about baby being head down, pretty rubbish about them not being more on the ball about your blood tests though
Tea that's charming from your mw!
Are they normally that negative about home birth, or is it just a having to tell you the potential risks backside covering exercise? Brilliant about your stuff being delivered tomorrow, and three weeks max!!
nerdy fantastic news that you're so close to another milestone
. I was told not to worry about where you're feeling movement, so long as you're feeling it.
Dav you're very welcome, I found that all the consultants I've spoken to have been absolutely brilliant and very understanding. As I said, I got some great advice, but in particular there is a lady who goes by the username RedToothBrush (really hope she doesn't mind me signposting her knowledge) and her advice was absolutely brilliant, she seems to know a lot about the legalities of it all, and I gather she often advises on ELCS posts, so might be worth searching for some of her posts and having a browse if you want more info.
That's awful about the scan department! Do you have a named consultant/are you under consultant care? If I ever have any issues with a department I phone my consultant and he then shouts at them talks to them and gets it sorted really quickly. In my experience scan departments can be very obstinate but a word from a consultant seems to shake them up a bit. I know that probably doesn't help much now though
.
Phew, sorry that was so long! Not much news from my end, although I now have my ELCS date, hooray!!! It's booked for 29th May, which will be 39 + 4, and the consultant thinks he will move it forwards to 37 weeks instead, but he's waiting until our 36 week scan to decide for definite. He said he'd book a provisional, ideal case date though so that I knew it was officially booked. Our little man is currently oblique and has been for the last two weeks, which I have to say is a lot more comfortable than when he was breech! It's been giving my ribs a nice break from having his head rammed under them. I hope he does turn to a more stable position though.
