I have 39 days left (AND COUNTING) until my planned cs on 11th april

I am fat, fed up, knackered, aching, heartburn-ridden and absolutely DESPERATE for the baby to be out. this will be dc3 and deffo my LAST

anyone else got a similar amount of time left and want a thread where we can share the joys of the final stretch of pregnancy

currently todays bugbear is my needing a wee constantly, which will no doubt keep me up all night again

My cs has been booked for 3 weeks time. Feeling pretty disappointed. Registrar seems to think its unlikely baby will turn now as he's been transverse for weeks and is so big. :(
Even if he does turn he's likely to get his huge shoulders stuck as my daughter got properly stuck and she was tiny in comparison.

HelenHen · 21/03/2014 12:35

Aw no inglori0us, sorry to hear that Sad

bopoityboo3 · 21/03/2014 13:53

oh inglori0us so sorry to here that. But try to focus on the positive that in 3 week times you will defiantly be having first snuggles with your beautiful baby. Thanks

Inglori0us · 21/03/2014 14:20

Thanks. I know it'll all be worth it once he's out.
My 2yo is driving me insane. Constant singing, refusing to nap, climbing on anything she can reach. Little minx. No clue how I'll manage her energetic madness and a newborn after the cs. Hoping DH will take extra time off.
Mostly concerned about not being able to drive or get out. Won't be able to get buggy out on my own as we have steps down from our front door.

HelenHen · 21/03/2014 14:24

Ah that sounds like a nightmare... Have you got anyone else who can help? Or even pay a young girl something to help around the house and getting out or something! Any of your friends have teenage daughters at a loose end?

Inglori0us · 21/03/2014 14:52

I have some nice neighbours who will probably help. And my friends will take dd for outings and play dates as they have kids the same age. Hate having to rely on other people though. And the risk with me will be that I won't rest enough. I hate sitting still and staying in. It'll drive me nuts.

We will muddle through though. It's only a few weeks. :)

HelenHen · 21/03/2014 15:05

Ah I know what ya mean! Some people recover s bit quicker though so hopefully you'll be one of those. From what I've heard, it's often only the first two or three weeks that are really bad, after that it's mainly not lifting stuff! I am not a doc though Grin but every day you'll feel a little bit better.

BlessedAssurance · 21/03/2014 15:32

Inglorious that sucks but look on the bright side, you will soon be holding your LO in your arms and won't be pregnant anymoreGrin. I hope your DH takes some time off because the first few days you are not to do much other than eat and hold the baby. You need to rest after a c section, not only will you be sore but you the will need to rest so you can heal properly. People are different though but for me i couldn't do much the first week. The sec week i was well enough to go for walks but not well enough to push the buggy. Your Dd is still too young so you will also need tonnes of help like when she wants to dive on your tummySmile.

LastOneDancing · 21/03/2014 18:04

Sorry to hear you're disappointed Inglorious, I would be upset too if I was told I'd need a c-section and I don't have a lively 2 year old to contend with.
But with a date in place at least the end is in sight Smile

Inglori0us · 21/03/2014 18:23

Thanks you lovely lot. Feeling better now. Dh will be home for a few weeks and my mum will help. Also booked dd extra days in nursery.

Tonight I'm having a wine. :)

CaipirinhasAllRound · 21/03/2014 18:52

Enjoy your wine Inglorious!

Congrats IWant! Fab news
X

HelenHen · 21/03/2014 19:29

Ooh wine sounds great! I'd join you but I'm desperately trying to increase amniotic fluid so drinking ridiculous amounts of water and just eating fruit lol. I will beat thisthing!

BlessedAssurance · 21/03/2014 20:50

Happy for youGrin inglorious.

Inglori0us · 21/03/2014 22:19

My tiny wine was lovely.

Hope the fluids help Helen. I've been drinking 3 litres of water and squash a day for 4 months now to combat my ridiculously low blood pressure. I must've been to the loo 40 times today. Baby is doing something nasty to my bladder. Ouch.

Bedtime for me now. Got dd's birthday party tomorrow so I'll need all the strength I can get! 15 2 & 3 year olds in a soft play cafe. What was I thinking??

HelenHen · 21/03/2014 22:37

3l? How is that even possible? My bladder is the size of a Malteser Grin I feel like baby dropped a bit tonight and it's certainly using my bladder as a punchbag... Fun!

Ow jaysus, what we're ya thinking? Please tell me you'll have help?

Bit late to the thread, but I'm also due in the next month, expecting DC3. Unlike what many have written I am lapping up every last moment of this pregnancy and feeling increasingly emotional about it coming to an end. Despite the heartburn, the painful SPD and the general pregnancy heaviness, I adore the feeling of carrying our child within me and it's been such a special journey to share with our DS (5yrs) and DD (3yrs). I feel constantly emotional and sentimental and just want to savour the moment, though I am so excited to meet our baby and find out what sex it is!!! Desperate to finish work now too - one week to go - then I can indulge myself in baby-ness and start properly preparing for this one to arrive. Really hoping it won't make an early appearance as planned C-Section booked.

Oli31 · 22/03/2014 02:45

I'm afraid I've jumped the queue! Baby Rose was born at 35+6 on Thursday weighing a tiny 4lb, 15oz. She has just got the hang of latching on though and is currently feeding happily!

It all happened pretty quickly. My pyjama bottoms felt quite wet when I woke up on Thursday, but I put it down to having a bath before bed the night before. No other symptoms. My husband was travelling, so I got myself and my DS ready, dropped him at nursery and went to work. Decided there was quite a lot of liquid , so called the midwife who told me to go to hospital. I had a low lying placenta diagnosed at the 20 week scan and

Oli31 · 22/03/2014 02:51

Oops pressed too soon!

Anyway, was resigned to a c-section until a second opinion on the 36 week scan on Weds said I could have a natural delivery.

Hospital confirmed my waters had gone, so was admitted. There ensued a mild panic trying to sort out childcare for my son, get my DH on a flight home and someone to pack me a hospital bag!

Eventually all sorted. Contractions started naturally at 5pm, I was admitted to the labour ward at 8pm (no birthing centre allowed because she's not 37 weeks), started pushing at 8.50 and she was born at 9pm!

DH arrived at 9.45 distraught at having missed it.

CaipirinhasAllRound · 22/03/2014 05:05

Congrats Oli! Hope you and baby Rose are doing well.
How's your DH feeling now? Such a shame he missed it

HelenHen · 22/03/2014 07:16

Wow oli, well done! Super quick eh? Poor dh though but at least he wasn't z day late or something!

Welcome nk Grin I can't wait to meet our new family member too! It's so exciting!

LastOneDancing · 22/03/2014 07:33

Congratulations Oli! I'm so glad your baby is feeding well despite being a bit tiny! What a little star!

Ooo good luck today Inglorious, I hope you won't be scaling the soft play to rescue stuck kids today?! Save us some cake Wink

Water is the answer to everything! I was carrying too much so started drinking pints and pints of the stuff to stop the retention - it seemed to work. Hope it works for you too Helen!

BlessedAssurance · 22/03/2014 08:05

Congratulations Oli. That was quick. Your poor Dh for missing it all but now he gets to hold gorgeous Rose in his arms..

balenciaga · 22/03/2014 08:08

Yay congrats!!! X

I don't understand... When I was pg with ds I was craving fruit and water, now I have to force it into me!
