Hi 2girls and welcome. You are in the right place - all of us on this thread are worrypots. It is understandable that you are so anxious - those first 12 weeks are by far the worst. I hope that the time passes quickly for you until your next scan. Wishing you all the best.

bobbynog · 27/08/2006 10:26

Oh yes - this is definately a thread for any one who is worried. I breezed through my first pregnancy without a care in the world. This time i am trying to enjoy it, but at times it is torture.
My doppler came, and i heard my babies heart beat yesterday, so i am feeling much more positive now. Thanks for all your kind words - it is going to be a hard couple of weeks i think.

Hi everyone - just wanted to check in and let you know I had dd2 on the 18/8. She arrived safe and well after a 13 hour labour (thought second babes were supposed to be quick?!) and weighed 8lb 11oz. Huge relief. Now we're back in the world of sleepless nights, wind, nappies etc. But wouldn't change anything for the world.

Good luck to everyone here and thanks to everyone for being there during my wobbly moments. x

wools · 29/08/2006 11:47

Congratulations Wishingchair - fantastic news.

Had a midwife appointment today (34 weeks) - baby is lying transverse. She said if baby hadn't turned in 2 weeks I would have an appointment to turn the baby. Not sure I like the sound of that very much.

Hello everyone - and congrats wishingchair, that's great to hear. And hello and welcome to 2girls too.

Wools - if it's any consolation, my midwives said that they weren't even going to worry about which way up the baby was until 36 weeks, because they do move around so much until then. And I'm entirely with you on the mat leave thing - I've also said that I'm staying until 36 weeks, and am now wondering whether I'll make it that far, it's pretty hard to get any motivation together at all. Are you planning to go back afterwards?

I'm now at 32 weeks and lumbering round like a particularly graceless elephant. Not only do I have cellulite on my calves, but even my cellulite is now getting cellulite. I don't want to think about what I am going to look like in two months time (I know it's not supposed to matter, I know it's all for the good of the baby, but honestly. I could cope if I didn't have to look at it in the bath!)

Bobbynog - glad the doppler is helping! And babycakes - hope you managed to relax a bit over the weekend.

Sadly, I don't know if anyone else saw mia84's thread, but it seems as though she is having a second miscarriage. Her thread is here .

wools · 30/08/2006 11:43

Hi everyone.

Twocats - that is a consolation. Hopefully baby will turn naturally then. Don't mind too much having to have the baby turned if necessary but really hope to avoid a c-section. I'm not sure about going back to work. I think I will take 12 months off this time and really think about things carefully. Sometimes I think returning to work is a good idea and other times I hate it and vow never to return. TBH I think hormones and tiredness have a lot to do with my attitude.

Mygirl - will try the leaning over thing - it's worth a go in any case.

I'm so sorry to hear about the miscarriage Mia. I hope you get the support you need over the next few months.

Morning all,

Am a bit brain-dead today as for some reason they decided to collect the rubbish at 5.30am this morning. I am not best pleased, and am about to tell someone at the council so.

And (spot the person having first baby here) we went for a tour of the hospital on Wed, and it now all seems rather too real. But v clean at least, which is something.

But just popped in quickly to say, wools, saw someone link to this thread, in case you hadn't seen it.

how's everyone else doing?

Nicola63 · 01/09/2006 10:38

Hello. I am a bit nervous coming in here, as I am rather anxious about everything at the moment, but can I quietly slide in here from the ttc after m/c thread? I got my BFP this week, and after 2 m/c's in the last 18 months, so this is quite nervewracking and I don't know if I feel excited or terrified or what.

I am starting on Fragmin (heparin) injections today. No exact cause was really found for my m/c's but my obstetrician is starting me on this anyway for the moment, and we are awaiting a lot of blood results. I am also on thyroid pills and aspirin.

Nicola63 · 01/09/2006 10:39

PS although I am very old (just turned 43, comceived on my birthday) this will be my first baby.

twocatsonthebed · 01/09/2006 10:53

Oh Nicola I'm so pleased for you - I remember you coming onto the TTC after miscarriage threads just as I left. That's fantastic news.

I'm 40, this is also my first, on aspirin too...now at 32 weeks.

Hi everyone,

Thanks very much for the link Twocats, I hadn't seen it - loads of useful tips which I'm going to try out. Not surprised you were fed up of the bin men showing up at that hour...what were they thinking of?

Nicola - Congratulations. I am delighted for you. I remember you from previous threads. I am 42 and I've got 6 weeks to go. I hope the first trimestar flies past for you.

time4tea · 01/09/2006 19:43

hey Nicola!!! wonderful wonderful news. welcome!! the support here is just as good as on the ttc thread. I am so delighted for you, especially after all your recent worries (like menopause!!)

hello all, I just crashed out mentally after the good news of the 13 week scan, the relief was just overwhelming. I've been on a self catering holiday with DS (2) and BF and her DS (5) and DD(2) who are both very full on, so feel actually very relaxed to be home with just one little to deal with (a bit like "a squash and a squeeze"!)

the break away did lots of good, hope all well with you fine ladies

sad news about Mia - how is she, does anyone know?

babycakes26 · 01/09/2006 20:48

Hi all
sorry not been around this week had nightmare week which culminated in a day in hospital today. Looks like I have had another mc so feeling fairly low tonight - bleeding not awful but scan not hopeful. Sorry to bring the bad news - I wish you all well BC xxx

time4tea · 03/09/2006 09:11

so sorry to hear your news Babycakes - thinking of you and sending love, wishing you everything you need to get through this

twocatsonthebed · 03/09/2006 18:13

Babycakes, I'm really sorry to hear that. I hope you're OK and I'll be thinking of you.

bobbynog · 04/09/2006 09:40

Sorry babycakes - thinking of you

Nicola63 · 04/09/2006 12:47

Thank you for the friendly welcomes everyone. It's nice too that there are some older ladies here, makes me feel a little less ancient! I remain ultra nervous, and rather bruised from the fragmin injections. I spent the weekend having a total love-in with my DH in Scotland (he is working there for the next few months so we will only see each other on weekends). It was so beautiful up there. But I had to catch a 6am plane back to London this morning so am feeling rather exhausted!

Time4tea, glad things went well for you at the scan. I have to have my first scan in 2 weeks and am already feeling scared.

Some of my blood results are back and showed nothing in particular, expect that I was taking too high a dose of the thyroxine (I thought the jumpiness and sleeplessness was just anxiety but turns out I was getting rather hyperthyroid). Have cut back a bit on the dose now. The consultant will have the rest of the blood results on Wednesday, and he will then decide whether I should stay on the fragmin or not. Julez, did they actually find a definite clotting disorder with you? They have not found anything specific with me, so it's not clear whether the fragmin is needed really. I guess I just want to do everything and anything that improves the chances.

I wish everyone here well. Sorry to hear your news babycakes.

julezboo · 04/09/2006 13:00

Babycakes Im sorry sweetie

Nicola - they did diagnose factor V Leiden, very common apparently but often goes un noticed. However my hospital refused to start me on the injections till we got to the point where baby had a heartbeat, we couldnt get there so after 4 losses in a year i fought back and managed to persuade them to start them at 4 weeks and it worked, the injections do get easier and the bruises will eventually stop appearing everyday! I only have 3 now Im waiting to clear up.

How is everyone else doing? Im a little less panicky now ive reached 16 weeks, but its still 4 weeks till my next scan!

lots of love
