Congratulations Wools - especially surviving it all wihout the pain relief. You must be exhausted.

Hope your nipps heal soon and it all gets easier.

Orla's a lovely name.

time4tea · 23/10/2006 10:17

dear Wools

congratulations! Orla is a lovely name, we had it chosen for DS if he was a girl, and in case this beanie turns out a girl. It is Irish for golden princess - a lovely thought.

bad luck about the nipples - have you tried Camillosan? there's another cream that apparently works well, but I forget the name... will come back to me...

everyone else, OK?

littlefrog · 23/10/2006 11:02

Wools, that's lovely news! Many congratulations to you all on your new little girl. Hope everyone is settling down ok.

wools · 24/10/2006 09:04

Thanks everybody for all your lovely messages. Time4tea - I've got Irish blood on my side of the family and I've always loved the name ever since I was a little girl.

Breastfeeding settling down a bit - still hurts loads but I've invested in an electric pump and at least I can feed her via bottles, although I am having to supplement it with formula - it's the best I can do for the moment.

Hope you are all doing well.

Wools, me too with Irish blood (both parents) the difficulty is finding Irish names which are easy to spell and pronounce so that the poor child doesn't go through life spelling out the name or correcting phonetic pronunciation (Niamh causing lots of problems!) A fellow London Irish person suggested avoiding Finn for this reason - in case the boy ends up a bit podgy - hours of teasing in the playground for a fat lad called Finn!

We had our 20 wk scan today, a bit late at 22 weeks. All well, the sonographer was a sweetie who said that the baby was lovely, perfect: a mighty relief although I feel so tired that I just feel drained at the end of long worry, rather than jubilant. Treated myself to bubble bath afterwards - might pick up spirits later... it seems like a long haul now till mid-Feb...

glad we're on the journey together, lovely ladies. I'd be lost without you

littlefrog · 24/10/2006 17:58

Hello everyone - hope you're feeling better, mygirl, and glad all is well, timefortea. I know all too well what you mean about feeling drained after scans. I think I end up hanging lots of hopes that 'after this one' all my worries will just evaporate - fat chance. But so glad it's good news. Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?
I'm seeing the midwife again on Thurs for blood results and things; maybe she'll have a listen for a heartbeat (nobody's done that yet). Then we're off for a week's holiday, which I'm longing for - leaving behind our disaster zone of a house. Roof structure started to go back on today, which is a good step, but it's a long way still until we're warm and weatherproof.
Any news of your scan Andi?
Hope everyone else is well.

Welcome ChocolatePeanut, good to have you on board and congratulations!

Littlefrog, I agree with you about the scans. I was over the moon after my first scan, but now I just keep waiting for the next one to come round in just over 3 weeks time!

Andi, How did your scan go? Everything OK? I hope the good vibes worked.

Best wishes to everyone else - take it easy xx

Hello Chocolate Peanut, welcome and congratulations!

Mygirl - so are you all set for your homebirth now? And how are you feeling? I'm getting a bit achey and crabby now - it hurts when I walk around and hurts when I sit down, so I'm never happy! But I reckon I've probably got at least another 2 weeks - it seems to be the family pattern to be a week or more late. I will have lost the use of my legs by then, but never mind...

Time4tea - that's great news about the scan. If it's any consolation, I did find that time went a bit faster after my 20 week scan, especially once I got a bit of energy back. Hope it works the same for you.

How's everyone else getting on?

Wow mygirl!! The end is in sight!! I so wish I was nearer the finishing line.

God knows how I am going to get through the next 8 months. I had hyperemesis with both previous pregnancies from 6-20 weeks so this kind of feels like the calm before the storm. And now after what happened with Philippa, I am dreading the kicking starting as I will be worrying like a possessed woman about it stopping.

Think positive I know but its quite hard isnt it?

Morning all!

I had a quick look on the ttc after miscarriage board as I was getting a bit worried about Andi and her scan - I wondered if she didn't want to post here with bad news. But all fine - she has seen a heartbeat, but she was in a car accident Sun night (knocked out but seems otherwise OK) and so hasn't been postings. So hopefully we'll see her soon.

Chocolatepeanut - it must be particularly hard for you - mygirl said it all really. You have all of my good wishes and vibes for this one.

I'm fine, for something the size of a small country, fine and bored. Hope everyone else is OK.

Oh, I'm so glad it's good news for Andi - get well soon!
I'm feeling a bit more positive today - saw the midwife and heard the heartbeat for the first time, which was lovely. Nice lady, though she did try and give me someone else's blood test results at first.
How's everyone else?

CHOCOLATEPEANUT · 26/10/2006 19:23

Thanks for all the kind words. However I feel, I feel very blessed to be pregnant again

Juicylucythe2nd · 27/10/2006 11:57

Although I only saw little pod on wed and it's now Friday, paranoia is creeping back.

So a quick question for you further along ladies. Did you continue to get stretching "cramps" / pains throughout the first trimester? I have some stomach pains which are really light, but obviously my first reaction is panic, well, just because.

Also the nausea has subsided, which has added to paranoia.

littlefrog · 27/10/2006 14:41

Welcome chocolate peanut, must be both hard and wonderful for you to be pregnant again. Thinking of you.
Juicylucy, I felt relieved for all of, oh, 20 minutes after my early scans this time round. No symptoms at all (no sickness - same as with the last miscarriage; not even any tiredness, which I'd had before). So I was convinced things were wrong. I didn't have cramps, though I'd have been frightened by those too. I'm now 17 weeks.
What does your EPU say, can you go back there for a repeat scan if you're worried? If you really are, and you think a scan would help, then do get one - they won't mind at all. In your situation I just held on though: I don't like scans, and I don't seem to deal with them well.
I'm sure it's all alright, but as we all know, it's easy to say that when it isn't you, and SO hard to believe when it is.

Juicylucythe2nd · 27/10/2006 14:48

Littlefrog - I think you're right and I should just hold out. Will try to just enjoy not being vomaticious for as long as it lasts.

If only I had a pregnancy worry OFF SWITCH!!

twocatsonthebed · 27/10/2006 15:14

Juicylucy - I had just that, like the day before my period starting, all the way through the first trimester. All the books said it was ligament stretching - although why they do that then rather than now, when my whole abdomen is as taut as an elastic band, is another question altogether....
